Went to a Target after K Day.

Did anybody come home with extra blue Civic from K-Day for sale or trade?

Nope. Only grabbed one (which I later noticed had an offset wheel in the back) and the rest were hoarded. Here's my haul:

I thought I was done with the Miatas, but this drift car looking thing's pretty cool. 👍 I like the Land Rover too & all the JDMs, except I'm not a big fan of the "Custom" 240Z casting. I bought the ADVAN $uper TH version, but I kinda regret it now. Datsun 620 $TH, I'm really happy with.

Pretty bummed about my haul this month. Only managed to find a Surf Crate, Formula Flashback, NSX, and 911 GT3. I went to the same Kmart as last time, only now instead of laying all the K-Day cars on a table it was mixed in with the normal stock on the pegs. I was also looking for the Civic, R30, and R33 which were absent; I then went to another Kmart only to find the same situation as before . However, I decided to stop at a Walgreens on whim and found this beauty:

I'm amazed by the incompetence of Mattel to deliver two most basic information for any event: Where & what time?

Last K-Day, I pretty much said 🤬 you, after spending so much time trying to dig up information on participating Kmart locations & also the time.

Today's K-Day, they actually said 9am(!), but link for the participating store locations wouldn't work. It's astonishing to see someone fail so hard, two times in a row on something soooooooo basic.

That sucks. My local Kmart survived another round of cuts, and it's a miracle. That thing reminds you of second rate dollar stores or convenience stores, just with more empty shelves. I'm glad you got all the cars you were looking for though. 👍

Well, Kmart stores are dying off everywhere in the U.S., so pretty soon, no Kmart, no K-Day.

I made it out with four Civics because my friend wanted a couple and he couldn't make. I'm amazed at how popular JDM cars have become. When the black Datsun wagon was a K Day exclusive, I left with 10 and left another five or six on the table. Today there were hardly any Skylines on the table and no Civics.

I honestly don’t care about k days since my stores are closed too. I’m surprised they haven’t changed it to like a Target event or Toys R Us event.

I think TRU generates the worst sales of all major stores that regularly carry Hot Wheels. Walmart has had them entirely beat for many years.

This was my big purchase this morning, after seeing this tweet:



It's the "secret", or chase car from the latest Grachan cars released in Japan.

Initially, it was listed for $75 or something & I was thinking I wouldn't do that..... Then I saw this on the Yahoo Japanese Auctions. One closing in 12 hours is already over $70, and ones with few days remaining are already around $50, before shipping. I came back to eBay & saw that seller lowered the price to $60(shipped), so I felt pretty good about it.

Also committed to online exclusive RX-3 from the same series, this time from the Japanese Yahoo, because there were none on eBay. Again, I was tempted by Japanese tweet.

I'm sort of confused about that Silvia. As you may already know, Grachan cars are "bousouzoku" cars. Street racers who made their street cars look like those Super Silhouette race cars that we like so much.

This "Grachan" Silvia, is it supposed to be the proper Super Silhouette race car, or is it the knockoff bousouzoku street Silvia with body kit to make it look like one? In the end, it doesn't really matter, as we are talking about minicar, but it just got me thinking.

Surprisingly, I've seen more Mercedes than any other car from the series. I love R5, but it's a obscure car in the U.S. CRX is generally good, but this new livery doesn't do anything for me either, but yeah, it's the Mercedes I've ran into more. It's the car I was looking forward to more as well. Weird.

I posted about picking up couple of K-Day Civics at good pricing earlier today. Edit: Seller says he got communications mixed up with another buyer. It's now a non-issue.

I saw one in the Costco parking lot. We were there to get some hot dogs for lunch, and my coworkers thought it was weird I was getting my cellphone(pre-smartphone era) out taking pictures.

Of all the TMS cars I only wanted this one, to go with the previous white and blue from a few months back. Found some capsule toy cars and these fit perfectly on the transporter!

Another incredible release from Akado. Tampon printing at its finest. This is reminisant of the quality of the Tomica D1 drift series tampon printing. And in fact the livery is based on a car from the D1 competition. A member on this forum posted some photos of a real car.
