It's been a while but I stopped and looked at the hot wheels section in walmart and found these two.

Shelves are still empty for basic hot wheels at a few store I go to. If they’re full they have old stock or a lot of fantasy cars. Haven’t seen more cars and doughnuts series cars just track day and euro style. Matchbox section isn’t better either at a lot of the store I go to. Guess it’s empty peg season now.

I wish I could buy those Tarmac 3-Series cars, but those oversized wheels/tires still bugs me(I realize it's similar to what's on the real car). I can't do it.

Anybody seen Japan Historics 2 on store pegs yet? I really want them, but prices online's quite high.
I wonder how @a6m5 got your phone number? :dopey:
This is cyber bullying & you are hurting my feelings. Besides, it's Johnny's fault for being so cheap. I even lowered the price from a thousand dollars!
True. And the scalper promotors don’t know about these yet.
Yabiggoose approve this message. j/k If it's that certain blog, back when CM's were around, he was very selective about which brand gets covered on it. Now days, I think I see handful of popular brands on there. You've seen my blog, I buy/post whatever looks interesting.

He used to be subtle in promoting stuff and I thought that was OK. But now its very blatant.

The best! (you can pay me later for that promotion :D:lol:)

The first three are peg warmers. The Laurel and Skyline are just sick. Great casting and detailing. They use the smaller wheels to get lower. Classic custom JDM look and the colours suit perfectly! My favourite is the Laurel.

Happy new year to everyone!

Are they actually smaller than the standard, or are the bodies bigger to adjust to its size?

But not great for my wallet! So many awesome vehicles and manufacturers are coming out next year, my wishlist will be filled to the brim.

Except yer only going buy HWs only for the most part :P

Is it that bad? I'm guilty of not visiting the blog enough. I still think he's the best out there, but yeah, he's connected to the industry, so I guess it can't really be helped.

I think my blog does rank pretty high. In rants & whining. Thank you.👍

Same here. The last two. Happy New Years to you, too!
I bought this one:
Bought Hot Wheels..... in Japan. This is something new.👍 Decent price though, considering!

I think this is about the wheel sizes?

The 510 is 10.5mm. The skyline is 9mm. The Laurel uses the same wheels as the Skyline.

I didn’t notice this at first until the shop owner pointed it out to me.

That's a fair point. Not many people would offer someone a 25% discount. You're very kind.

Now where's my discount for the green Gemini? :dopey:

Unparalleled in that regard.👍

For you my man, 50% off. $500. Plus shipping($500).
Unparalleled in that regard.👍
It's nice to be acknowledged. Twice in one day!

Look at you with your stationary setup and bendy lamps and schtuff.

Perhaps USB lamps could be the way to go for me now that I've been going towards using multiple light sources.

Edit: annnd purchased. Thanks, cheap Chinese online store!

Most of the stuff is left overs from my days in Blu-ray steelbook collecting. The main light source is an adjustable DC powered LED lamp.

The frame has a semi transparent sheet that conveniently acts a diffuser. The two side lamps are backup for dark cars.

I find USB power lamps are not bright enough, but the dark moody shots you take should be ok.

Are there any other 1/64 diecast that makes decent R32 Skylines ? Thinking of completing the GTR lineup but i hate the widebody. Tomica's version is bleh so i'm not getting that one too.

Speaking of diorama's, found those Greenlight ones at TRU last week and passed as they are horribly out of scale.
Really small amirite.
Looks just like Jarrod's set, but I think his set had different name(high speed something or rather). I thought Tomytec would've announced another Tomicarama line by now. I'm sure yours cost an arm & a leg. I had some Chinese collector tell me earlier this year how he paid close to original MSRP, but I'm sure he just got super lucky.

IMO, Kyosho, followed by Tamiya. I should have both on my blog if you want to see pics.
And these popped up as well...

arm & a leg.

I’m a few internal organs less as well now. I don’t think it’s possible to get a Tomicarara at cost today unless it’s been used.

Tomy Takara need to start releasing more collector stuff if they want to stay relevant in the adult collector market. As you might have noticed I’ve started to collect less of their stuff, and I have recently amassed quite a lot of HW. The latest Japan Historics 2 is something that Tomica should be releasing but are not. They seem to have lost focus on the adult collector.

In diecast collecting, the perks of living in Asia are glorious.
Japanese stores getting that stuff on the pegs before we are. Come on Mattel. :(

Preaching to the choir. Their insistence to stick with "stock" vehicles used to hold lot of merit back in the day. "Boring" cars that nobody cared to produce as minicar/diecast, TLV line did it & did amazing job with them. It was refreshing & thanks to people like John with Lamley, Akiyo with Japan Booster, AmiAmi, etc., I believe the brand gained lot of grounds internationally last few years.

However, "JDM" releases that's really driving the industry now, they are the custom, lowered, racing/tuner, bousouzoku-ish type stuff. I said TLV should've been doing this, like probably 2, 3 years ago now. Instead, they let Hot Wheels & other Asian manufacturers lead the market with these kinds of releases while we see ridiculously high priced, but mediocre & sometimes boring releases from TLV, not to mention parts you have to install yourself on some of these cars(and you will **** it up lol).

I wouldn't say that they are losing focus on adult collectors, but they are really sticking with their original formula of doing stock (true)JDM & IMO, their blandness is working against them this time. No wonder I'm so excited to see TSM & ignition model enter the market!
