Like IG just to suggest models if you're interested.

You won't get what ya want if ya don't at least tell 'em watcha want.

Thanks Andy & Jarrod for the heads up & latest info. I just updated my blog post on this ignition to 1/64 scale thing, but on the ignition model's own blog, in Japanese, they made it sound like they are't too sure about that launch window(from Facebook live vid: May 2018 release) or the MSRP($24). On the flip side, they did state that while this 1/64 launch is focused on the international market at this time, they plan on releasing vintage cars, eventually. :dopey:

Understandable, but also ironic at the same time. I'm sure they're just trying to secure some good sales before they start catering to niche tastes.

Little boys with their flashy body panels and stickers matter more in the business world.

Hopefully something other than Hakos, 510s, or 240s. Those have been done to death.

If they go with the flow, they could be making solid money without having to risk not making sales.....

That is of course if they make their castings look better than M2 and Greenlight and whoever else.

That's a good point. I won't rehash my thoughts on the M2 and GL releases (maybe later).

Well said. 👍

Normally, I would agree with this logic. With ignition model however, I love their Skylines & Zs. I want them I want them I want them! XD

M2 might come close, but they are really rough around the edges IMO. Not really worried about GreenLight. I'm still trying to figure out WTF they were thinking with this one.

If they were trying to stylize it, IMHO, I think they are seriously untalented. If they were going for the realistic look, they may want to consider paying a company like Kyosho, so they can just put "GreenLight" on their blister packaging with Kyosho or whatever inside. If their upcoming 510's going to be this terrible, they are going to save me some money.

Damn look at you rollin' in resources.

If you're going to do laser-cutting, you can definitely take huge advantages of the time-consuming/difficult work it would be to do certain complex parts.
I'm hardly rolling in resources but anyway...

Oh em gee.

Sharp clean edges, rivets, actually holes in the grills, clean-cut spokes, tire treads. Material looks a lot lighter in a mix of metals. May serve to create thinner, finer, and sharper castings.
Interestingly enough, these images popped up on the Tarmac Works Instagram page... They're only distributing the cars, right?

Guys, it might be time to lose your poop:

Announcements to be made on the 8th. I'll keep us posted.

Tarmac's probably providing the factory and materials to mass produce. IG has only worked in resin as far I know.

If they're 40 bucks a pop, I'm not interested.

What about 35?

I think 35 right now is a very competitive price against BugZees, Kyosho and Tomica. Unsure what TLV base prices are generally like these days.

Couple of unusual purchases. Unexpected, but both something I've been hoping to find down the line:

Pocket Cars of course are the Tomica exported to I believe North America?
Just going off the prices on AmiAmi. Cheapest TLV's are 1700-1800 yen now.
I think specialized models go higher though. Really rough estimate at this point, but I think IG 1/64 cars would be comparable to something between Crazy Ken/Snake Motors at the lowest pricing, and maybe as high as something like those rally 510/Bluebird cars.

Having said that, IG's initial announcement I think stated the MSRP at the $24.

It's been so long now. How much were the crazy Ken cars when they were released? I think they were both below ¥2000 yen? I was only referring to the regular TLV's though.

Edit: Just looked it up. The crazy Ken Bellett was ¥1650 was it released in 2014. How times have changed.

US? That works out to $30 AUD, which is about what I expected.

Idk why but it kinda reminds me of ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Damn, i'm thinking of getting the Auto World Christine Plymouth Fury but the black windows made them look cheap. I know they wanted to make the "possessed" version but it ended just look meh. Any of you that have one can change my mind?. It cost the same as the Hot Wheels version here, and i know Auto World has better quality but some of the details bugged me.

I noticed the weird slope, but because I don't follow motorsports, I thought there was some new physical benefit of these like those racing wings that go up and around to the top of the wing.
