but the dark moody shots you take should be ok.

Good. Goood.....

Are there any other 1/64 diecast that makes decent R32 Skylines ? Thinking of completing the GTR lineup but i hate the widebody. Tomica's version is bleh so i'm not getting that one too.

Kyosho, my friend.

How I will end the year:

Yes! Thank you for getting a Minichamps and Bugzee.

sticking with their original formula of doing stock

Great post. Couldn’t have described their situation better.

And that is the problem. Need to move with the times or get left behind, especially with your competitors offering what the collector wants and more.

Actually they did offer what collectors want. Their TLV from a few years ago are much better than today. Dropping the Limited range with the far inferior Premium range was the biggest mistake they made. Un-numbered mainline stuff from 5+ years ago are much more varied and interesting and having to leave it to the customisers to fill in the void.

Looks just like Jarrod's set, but I think his set had different name(high speed something or rather).

Highway Motors or something, wasn't it? You did tell me what it was called once when I first got it. You're my Japanese translator. It is basically the same as @domalorite's one.

Original recipe Lamley Group uses that Tomicrama too doesn't he?
I thought Tomytec would've announced another Tomicarama line by now.

Can they do a Honda dealership so I have somewhere to park the Honda Express transporter? :dopey:

I was having a tour on Nara,
Kyoto, and Kobe prefectures, so..

...I had little free time.
Damn it Kakashi. I was really counting on it. jk 👍

I ranted again. :dopey::lol:

I also used to say that GreenLight & M2 should be making Japanese castings. Maybe Tomytec will catch on eventually. :P

My personal opinion, I agree, they've gone about this the wrong way. Having said that, Tomytec/TLV people are hard to read. Obviously, they are connected better to the industry than all of us combined. I think that they know more than all of our knowledge combined.

Again, if you ask me, they miscalculated. In big games, you continuously make adjustments & this makes TLV look clumsy. I'm not completely sure what to make of it, but irregardless, I'm also disappointed.

I agree with you on this too, but I am biased, since I grew up in the era of cars from the Tomica Limited line. I think Premium line's fine, but they just don't seem as desirable as the Limited.

Ah, you are right. It says high speed, but it's a short for highway(high speed roadway, something like that). It says on Tomytec website that it was collaboration with vintage car magazine.

You guys and your cute "stock" Tomicaramas...... They got nothing on my chopped, connected together FrankenLEGO Tomicarama. jk

Gold.👍

On the subject of dioramas, I never got around to building mine (as you could probably tell ) but I do have an idea for something much simpler, which is just a white poster board background that I've previously used with some 1:24s. However I would like to improve upon on it in some way. I'm just going for something better than whatever flat surface I have nearby like I usually use.

Its an old item that goes for high prices. Not Tomicararara level but among the highest for the mainline stuff

About a year or so ago, I was seriously considering one of those style dioramas for my basic Tomica stuff. But I don't really have the space for another diorama and I don't purchase as much basic Tomica as I used to either. So there's no real point in getting one, if I'm rarely going to use it.
Look at this guy working it(ignore the TLV vehicles):

That actually works pretty well, even with the TLV's.

When did you get those two? :P

I was thinking of actually making a diorama myself for my TLV's and Kyoshos. Well, when I say myself I mean with the assistance of a laser cutter and some digital modelling program. Heck, I could even do it for one of my classes at school, given that I create a design brief which allows me to create such thing...

Damn look at you rollin' in resources.

If you're going to do laser-cutting, you can definitely take huge advantages of the time-consuming/difficult work it would be to do certain complex parts.

Do it, lol. Totally be worth it.

Oh em gee.

Sharp clean edges, rivets, actually holes in the grills, clean-cut spokes, tire treads. Material looks a lot lighter in a mix of metals. May serve to create thinner, finer, and sharper castings.

They have my attention...

Stopped at Walmart after work, found some new Auto World's. Hit the next isle over to check the POP figures and ran into the toy manager. Seems like a cool dude, said he tries to keep them in stock for the collectors. Told him to keep it up since you can't buy them anywhere else in town.

Missed opportunity: Should've also hooked him up with a list of what cases to avoid!
