I feel like more competition in that form could maybe lower prices for the more expensive stuff too, or at least keep them in check.

True. These “recent” entries have taken over from the likes of Kyosho, while raising prices and lowering quality. Even TLV prices have been creeping up but the quality has been called into question in the past year.

I don’t mind paying more for a better quality product, not less. I guess USD15-20 has become the going rate for the so called top premium range.

Found these a Target

Didn’t know this decade series is out those were the only ones I found not sure if they’re Target exclusive.

While Hot Wheels Club website is what broke the back of this collector, TLV situation with the price hikes, etc. definitely contributed to my decision to leave as well. I also agree with the sentiments on the loss of brands like Kyosho & CM's. Bummer.

Whenever I dig through bins, I neatly start a condensed pile of cards I want to pick up.

When I see rubber wheels, I immediately throw it on the pile upside-down.
Can't have noboday sneek up on me ya know?

BTW is anyone dying to have that? I'm looking to flip it. [/uncensored]

Thanks, dude. I just replied to his post tweet.

Edit: Here some recent grabs:

I have a goal this year to complete the car culture sets featured on the RLC box set. The RLC cars are already there so it's not that hard. I have the Race Day set incoming, Cars & Donuts is easy to get with cheap price so i'm not worried. Modern Classics, Air Cooled and especially Redliners are hard to find. No one seemed to sell Redliners with cheap prices in my country, which is weird since my country has a hard on for JDMs instead of US cars.

Got some more questions to ask, only this time it’s about ebay: I can still pay with credit card even if the payment row only states ‘PayPal’, right? Also, what is the Global Shipping Program about? I’ve heard some criticisms regarding it here, should I avoid bidding on items with it?

And yeah, I’ve been on a bidding spree lately. :guilty:

Yeah, brace yourself for markups: #1 When you can't find it locally, then markup #2 after it's been discontinued.

If PayPal worked like it does in the U.S., yes, you can use credit/debit card through PayPal. I recommend using credit card for added protection in case you get ripped off by seller.

Global Shipping Service is basically eBay's built-in package forwarding service, for when seller doesn't ship overseas.

I guess the blessing in disguise with all these asian die cast companies is they tend to focus on JDM and I'm not that into JDM. More money saved for me :P
Here's some good content for you to watch. Tarmac Works: How it's made!

Don't forget to skim over some of those comments!

The comments pretty much echo my thoughts exactly. They might want to make highly detailed model cars, but the QC just isn't there.
Honestly, as long as they use water slide decals I don't see them reaching a consistent quality as they're just so finicky and fragile.

Cool video though.

Found the 50th chase Camaro at work. It was no chase at all, seeing as it was at the front of the peg.

Nice find!(I had to share it on the blog, too) While I do agree with @Apok , my personal experience with Tarmac Works QC has been good. My criticism with their cars are that I'd like to see little bit sharper molds & I'm also not a fan of waterslide decals.

Lucky. Pretty sneaky chase for casual buyers I'm sure.

So what's up with Mini GT ? What is the actual release date ? And is the white Civic the second release or something? I've seen the blue one but not the white one yet.

Finally caught the Porsche. Car is PERFECT. I was going to buy it.... Then I saw the price tag of $5.49. Considering that I'm on my way out of the hobby, it didn't really make any sense to buy it, so I put it back.

I don't know, but amiami is still showing July for both.

Picked up the Greenlight BRE 510 Datsun. Here it is with a TLV 1600 SSS Datsun for comparison:

IMO, Greenlight knocked it out of the part with this release. Better than the stubby Hot Wheels 510. Obviously doesn't compare to a TLV, but it is miles above the 510s released by M2. Seeing the GL BRE 510 up close makes the debacle of the 240Z even more jarring; almost as if created and designed by two separate diecase companies. Greenlight is releasing future 240Zs with a lowered chassis, so we shall see if that improves the casting.

not actually that bad at all, most of the differences in trim woulda been removed by the BRE squad anyway...
that grill tho... looks like it hasnt brushed its teeth since the 70s

Just pretend those are dead bugs from racing around the track!

I was going to try this, this weekend, too. I have the Black Bandit + BRE by GreenLight I recently got in the mail. Wanted to see if I can dig up a TLV + M2 for comparison. Great pics @shellac10 & I also share sentiments on the grille. It looks good until you get to that part of the car, but maybe it won't bother me as much in person? We'll see.
