I have two TLV Tokyu buses, but sometimes, I wish I had like couple more.........

I wish I was kidding, but I'm not.

See, that fleet is actually pretty cool. Unless you’re a ruiner like me, who can’t get past the fact that all the buses have the same license plate  ... a bit like the model train guys who have to have a different serial number on each identical box car or it ain’t right.

P.S. I checked my TLV tires. My LV-N24a, the ladder truck with rectangular roof lights had excellent tires. LV-N24b did have tires turning bit sticky. Checked Shell Tank Lorry, and that one was fine. Blue/white Hino truck I think was starting to get sticky as well. Nissan Diesel(680 I think) Newspaper delivery truck I took pictures week ago, that one had perfect tires.

I know my Shell tanker has sticky tires; the others I’d have to check.

@R1600Turbo - I finally got the order information for those Selections Nova Gasser? I was going to call them today to see if I can update the credit card to current number & process the order, but it turns out they close 6pm Eastern Time. I swear to god, they impress me to no end. I will try calling them tomorrow during lunch or something. I'll let you know how it goes.

I share same sentiments on serial #'s & license plate #'s, I really do. I'm flexible enough to half-ass when I need to though. Maybe little crazy, but little bit practical, too.

I didn't come across my Idemitsu Tank Lorry, so I've yet to check that one. Idemitsu tanker is another one I sold my first one, but I bought it back again. Unlike with the LV-N24b ladder truck, which I made little chunk of change on in the process, I think Idemitsu, I sold it for around the same amount I bought it back for(another buyer/seller).

I've also sold my Idemitsu Tomicarama, and that's another one I regret selling. I've stalked that one for a year or two, but its market value have skyrocketed since.

I’m not really 100% into the dioramas, but I pre-ordered the classic car dealer one coming up...simply because of the nutjob prices on the older ones. The EK9s are also in crazy territory already. I have a spare white one that I’m going to hang onto another year or two.

Not at all, 3D scanning has been around for ages, though it wasn't really used till the 90's/00's. I recall hearing about cars being 3D scanned for use in video games a couple years back and with the technology getting cheaper and more viable I'm certain Tomica aren't the first to use the technology to make scale cars.

EDIT: Polyphony has been doing it since over 10 years ago.
I know it's been used in video games for a few years, but I've never heard of it being used for a 1:64 scale car.

Been a long time since I've posted something concrete and proper, but I finally managed to take some pics, and start clearing my backlog!

This TLV Nissan GT-R was bought probably more than a year ago. Back then I wanted a GT-R Nismo, but the only ones the store (Hung Hing) had in stock was the ordinary Premium Edition, in 3 colours at the time. As I thought the GT-Rs are nearing the end of production, I had to compromise. I went for the one in black because it had a tan interior, which I guess is the reason for the ~4 USD increment. And guess what happened approximately a month after? The store had the GT-R Nismo in stock, for exactly the same price.

It didn't look bad, although IMO TLV should have gone for the 2012 version, which didn't have so many wheel spokes, if they wanted the brake rotors to be easily seen. I no longer have the car, as I just find there to be no point in owning the ordinary version when I have the Nismo version, which is superior in every way, so I sold it at a discount of 6 USD from the original 21 USD after I've taken group pics of it together with its TLV Nismo and Kyosho GT3 sibling. (More of that to come later.)

Here're the pics:

A more artistic photo:

And a pic of the interior (I tried!):

I wish I ordered extra Civics back then. White & navy were my very first TLV preorders(ordered one extra green Civic, just in case). Congrats on the Tomicarama preorder. Older one's are cool, but yes, they've gotten stupid expensive. I think you'll have fun with your set! 👍
Ignition.
I didn't know this either, or maybe I just forgot. :dunce:

Amazing pics! Car looks like a real life GT-R in the first photo. Says a lot about the quality of the TLV & your photography. 👍

Well to be fair, IG 3D scans for their 1/43 and 1/18.

Do they do a different process for their diecast line? I don't know. My only guess is that they take their scans, print at a smaller scale, fine tune the print out to accommodate manufacturing limitations of zamac, or whatever they use, and then start punching out cars.

I have that model as well. I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned it before, but the thing I’m most impressed with it is the windshield wipers, which is actually a 3-dimensional photo-etched part, something that I haven’t seen before. Pity the body isn’t held to the base with screws though, otherwise I’d have unscrewed it to see if the interior was painted or features decals. 👍

Interior is probably all unpainted plastic.

Bought this really cool box.

I really like this box because it contains even more boxes

Ooh, I didn't see that and I am missing that one still. Regardless I think I'll pass this time as I've already spent too much this month and the Citroen series isn't that difficult to get a hold of (famous last words).

:irked: come on Apok have some self restraint.

Anywho, here's the stuff I didn't have before:

Citroen Xsara WRC | 2003 Monte Carlo

Citroen C4 WRC Test Car

No, the Citroen tampo isn't crooked, it's supposed to be that way apparently.

Citroen BX4TC | 1986 Monte Carlo

But wait, there's more!

Kyosho Lamborghini Miura

I already have a Lamborghini Miura by Kyosho in yellow. That one is from a much earlier series and looks hideous. This one looks immeasurably nicer.

Finally I also got these two models that just come in unbranded black boxes. Probably for sale in various dealerships. They do look a lot like the Oversteer models though.

Pretty happy with all these purchases. I do have a couple extra citroens now, so if anyone wants a C4 2007 Monte Carlo, Xsara 2006 Monte Carlo or Xsara 2001 Catalunya or one of those orange Miuras (don't ask me why I bought extras) shoot me a DM and we can make a deal.

This thing is gorgeous, although i hate how one side mirror isn't levelled with the other one, and there's a small part on the roof that has the paint botched though not that noticeable. I feel sorry for the guy whose side mirror is missing, because i got an extra one inside the box.

Truth be told, i want to buy more of their models but if they can't keep the car safe then i'd hold out.

Also: Mystery packs release 3 are hitting stores and this is the set with the Bluebird Wagon. Unfortunately it's the "chase" car meaning there is one per box. And when you have a JDM hoarder in your area like I do, good luck actually finding it.
