Latest store buys. Sadly there wasn't a hell of a lot there, that I didn't already have :indiff:

AAR Cuda & Couger by VC SL/E, on Flickr
AAR Cuda Street Beast's '11 and Mercury Cougar HW Performance '11. ( Just noticed I spelt "Cougar" wrong on the photo description  :guilty:)

Spin King by VC SL/E, on Flickr
The only 2012 I could find, Shane Warne "Spin King". I don't normally buy fake cars but the blister card is awesome.

Silverado & Hurst Old's by VC SL/E, on Flickr
Chevy Silverado 'Hot Ones" and Hurst Old's "Hot Ones".

Ooh, gotta find one of those Hurst Olds. 👍 I bought a handful of cars recently, but nothing noteworthy enough to post pictures of. Just some normal mainlines (I saw that dark red Chevelle and I was like TREASURE HUNT?!?!?!?!? ...but sadly it was just the normal one. Still looks awesome though. 👍 ) and that '00s Decades Corvette ZR-1, which looks sweet.

Im in cali too. You in socal?

Found the fb already :( nothing special unfortunately.

Ihave a retro matchbox (late 90s) casting of a mkiv supra. Its very heavy but awesome. Kinda the same run with their fd as well. Haha i had like three fds

Stolen from HW Wikia...

2013ViperHW.jpg

Also wanted to say that I picked up some 2012 cars today:
-GM Motorhome
-Plymouth Hemi Cuda
-yellow Chevy Impala Nascar
-gray Chevelle SS
-1970 Camaro (gray, and a red)
-'62 Chevy

Other than that, I started fulfilling the Missing Cars list and retrieved 20 cars so far 👍

I'm gonna start with the recent acquisitions but I'm gonna post them in a more thread-friendly manner after last time's debaccle. Today I'll show you the stuff I got at the last HW Mexico Club get-together. The yellow 57 Chev was an upgrade, I bought it blister-carded and liberated it on the spot. The Mini will see customizing.
IMG_7070.jpg

First up is the Garage-series Dodge A100 van, I had been chasing this one for months and since I arrived early I was able to snatch it. This damned little truck is PER-FECT in every sense.
IMG_7072.jpg

Looks at those flames everywhere, the color, the stanceeeeeeee
IMG_7074.jpg

Next was this bargain 100% HW Buick Elwoodie, for all of $4!
IMG_7082.jpg

IMG_7081.jpg

Then this green Willys, a K-Mart exclusive color which is why I bought it, and the 1959 Chevrolet panel TH from last year, which I had been chasing for months also.
IMG_7076.jpg

Then this absolutely mint Chevrolet Luv from Yatming. Not a scratch.
IMG_7079.jpg

And the really relevant piece of the day, a made-in-Mexico Stutz Blackhawk, a definite upgrade to the one I had, which had a burn in the glass.
IMG_7077.jpg

And these next cars came from trades with a friend and with online members of the club. This first picture shows what I got trading stuff with the guy that paints my cars.
IMG_7110.jpg

The 40 Chevy tanker, blue Toyota puck up and orange Ka are Majorettes, the Land Rover and Mercedes are Realtoys, the money truck is a vintage Matchbox Lesney and the fire truck is the regular HW Fire Eater TH of two years ago or so. I found the $TH in a supermarket (yeah, I know) but was never able to find the regular. It had a teared blistercard.

These came from trades with my nephew.
IMG_7111.jpg

The White Duster with zoomies (finally got dammit, have wanted one for years), Mercedes and tatty Toyota Crown are Yatmings (The Crown will see Bosozokufication), and the odd BMW is a Majorette pull-back car.

And this last batch came from various members of the club.
IMG_7118.jpg

The red VW Bug is a 5-pack car, the purple 300ZX is the rare gold Ultrahots variation, and the black 34 Ford will see a wheel swap and some detailing.

The relevant piece of the bunch is, at freaking last, the made-in-Mexico Torino in black, in pretty damn decent shape.

tomorrow another batch of trash.

Oh...can someone blindfold me! I need to stop looking at past hw/matchbox models... Keep punching myself for not sticking to collecting them. Looking through so many hw/matchbox that I missed on videos, wiki, and here! Things like the Veyron, GT-R, Murcielago LP670-4, etc. (May as well list about all of them...) are driving me crazy. X_X Especially the fact I'm unable to purchase things online. Hoping that the flea market will have models in the 2010 - 2007 range. :nervous:

Rather stupid post if you ask me, but my mind's going so crazy right now after looking at them I can't sleep. :ouch:

Tell him to get a real gun. It might survive the hammer attack. :D I just got this tonight.

Anyway, there are so many people who are anti-gun, so Medigo's dad is no exception. My mom also didn't like me playing with toy guns as a kid, and recently didn't like me buying nerf guns for my nephew, although I did get an OK from my brother(the dad) ahead of time. I'm considerate like that.

Funny thing though, when I was young, she threw away ALL of my hot wheels cars(actually they were Tomica's), but never touched my toy guns. Go figure.

Well, I guess we have some wacky stuff that runs in our families. But we are still collecting to this day and beyond. 👍

Thanks! I would use my backpack to sneak them in, however it's rather pointless when I don't have my own car anymore... :( If I did, I'd drive out after school/work to buy some and put them in my bag. Except that wouldn't be necessary since I'm always the first one home.

My older brother did collect airsoft guns. He's still got just about all of them, with some at home and some with him in college. Don't really know the models and what not. Not a gun person. :indiff: The reason my dad broke one of them because of his frustration with my brother spending money on them. It's mainly the money part that angers my parents... Don't know why but kind of feels weird to say this, my brother doesn't really go out and actually use the airsoft guns. What he does instead is sit around and reload them and aim them around (not at people) when he's bored.

A couple of finds from the flea market I was considering: MX-5 Miata, Chrysler Atlantic, New Models Evo X, purple Diablo, BMW 850i, and that's about all I can think of what I was interested there at the moment. I think I might go there rather than go to the stores for my next run. It just feels a bit more fun to be at the flea market finding old models.

That's cool that he still got them. I heard some people don't even use theirs as well, just to hang on the wall or playing COD or any game irl (not loaded, only empty) with friends. Rarely do they shoot them maybe sometimes, but not all the time.

One of my brothers used to have a M4 Carbine looking airsoft, bit he rarely plays with it.

Oh, I visit SoCal espically San Diego and/or L.A., but I live in Las Vegas aka Sin City. I like hitting the beaches, theme parks, just browsing in the stores or trying my pick-up lines on girls out there when I go. I'm thinking of heading out there this summer maybe.

You STILL have your Supra and FD3S RX7?!?!

I used to have two Supras, one black and a white one, and a yellowish orange FD back in the 90's :D. Next to my white and blue GTS Viper and RT/10, these were my absloute favorites. Ever since I got them I always want to drive them and own both cars someday irl. I love driving/racing them on GT1 and the modified ones as well, TRD3000GT comes to mind. I miss those two. :(

Well I'm looking for a MKIV Supra, or a 300ZX Z32 along with the WRX STi, Lan Evo 8/9 GSR or the S2000 irl. But it's hard looking for the former cars :(, but I'm still looking for my childhood cars though. :)

I know right? Just like I did with everyone.....

Take. Deep. Breaths. Breathe in. Breathe out. And repeat the process.

Keep looking out there Medigo, something can show up at any minute, anywhere. Divide some of your collector money and put it somewhere for "just in case I find a older car" and take it anywhere you go to. Good luck bro. 👍

the 1959 Chevrolet panel TH from last year, which I had been chasing for months also.

And I found two of them. Had I known you were looking for one I'd gladly ship one to you. After all I feel a bit cheap buying up numerous TH's when they're all the same.
I also have two Plymouth Fury TH's and the $TH. Found them all in the same bin on the same day. :P

Last weekend I went to a shop called 'Trash Palace' where they sell secondhand goods. I was looking through the toys and to my surprise, I found some scale cars! I passed a few cars that I had already (McDonald's Drag car and NASCAR/stock car and the green NASCAR/stock car. Sponsored by Quivers or something like that), and passed a 1:43 IIRC BMW M1 that had a leaver which would pop the headlights up and down (I didn't get it because it was in a pretty terrible state and had a horrendous front bodykit on it). This is what I did get (sorry for the blurry picture):

P1010142.jpg

From left to right:

M.C Toy Ford Sierra XR4Ti, Matchbox Vauxhall Astra GTE/Opel Kadett GSI, Matchbox Model A Ford, Matchbox Ford RS200, Matchbox Oldsmobile Aerotech (sadly missing the cockpit window. Fantastic engine detail though), Corgi Porsche 935 (I think. Doesn't say on the bottom), Matchbox Racing Porsche 935, Matchbox Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit, and a Matchbox Saab 9000 Turbo (really chuffed with this as I saw this on Trademe for $5 a few days before).

I FOUND MY MISSING HOT WHEELS!

It was in another box. Now I feel kind of crappy because I went out of my way and spent probably $40+ on more duplicates now...

I know i have my MKIV somewhere (my baby brother may have gotten a hold of it ... ugh... hopefully now that he's 8 he's more responsible.

FD wise, i had two of the plain black ones with mazda's grey pinstripe as well as a chrome one. The MKIV was all die-cast while the FDs were all plastic.

That Sierra was availble here in a Hungy Jacks (Burger King) Kids Meal, I used to have one and have been looking for a replacement. Were they a toy in a Kids meal in New Zealand?

Naw, I wouldn't make you go trough such a big fuss nor would I spend so much for such a car. Regular THs are way easy to find. When I say I had been chasing it for months I meant trying to get it cheap or in the supermarket, I already had seen it several times but too overpriced for what it is. If I never found it I know where to buy it for a tad higher price, so that wasn't an issue.

'Sides, I've seen once and again that the THs come your way with time. For example, a guy in the club just posted that he had a boxfull of regular THs from years past that he had forgotten about and just found again (like our bud AOS up there), and made all of them available, so I snatched the Enzo from 3 years ago or so and the Chrysler 300C, which were the only ones I was missing. $2 each, or maybe I'll trade them. They just come.

I could very well use your Penny's, though (:

Dude, YES!!! Great grabs. I dunno over there, but Matchbox cars from that era are EXTREMELY, ENFURIATINGLY DIFFICULT to find over here in Mexico. They were never sold in supermarkets, only in malls and department stores, and were freaking expensive, like if you bought a Siku today, so finding them is RARE. You got yourself an awesome batch! I love the Ford RS200, yours is in way better shape than mine. And I want that Saab. Screw you.

and yes the green Porsche is Corgi. The wheels are unmistakable. Nice catch too.

I FOUND MY MISSING HOT WHEELS!

It was in another box. Now I feel kind of crappy because I went out of my way and spent probably $40+ on more duplicates now...

haha, dude, WAT. Well, now you have PLENTY of customizing fodder. Or E-Bay fodder.

I'm not going to bother selling them. I'll just paint them all black and create a Stealth Series of my own. :P

a6m5
No, but it sounds awesome, and I do want to see it!

P.S. I might call you names if it's too awesome.

1: Batcopter
2: A ratrod with Joker livery
3: Batmobile
4: Gotham City police car
5: Chrome armored truck.

I'll post some pictures later. But for now, let it rain down with the insults!

I've contemplated about getting the Dark Knight pack, but the bone shaker joker rod and chopper kill it for me.

Either way, that Batmobile is very cool. Are they still available in stores at all? How much?

The Dark Knight set is still available. I saw a couple the other day at Toys R Us. They usually sell for around $5.

Friday can't get here soon enough. Got cars to hunt!

Congrats bro! 👍

Now take extreme care with them now. ;)

But you just doubled your collection bud. Keep them and modify the old ones.

I didn't know they made a chrome FD RX7. Nice find there, it's a rare find. :D I wish MB would make them again:(. They had some of the best cars back in the mid-late 90's and early 2000s.

Do you mean a ninja series? ;):P:lol:

Cano - the Datsun is one of my favourite HWs, very photogenic:

I just love the fact that the doors open!

Thanks for bringing back memories of the Z32. Man I have to buy another one soon. That car was the coolest one, next to the pink interior Miata.

That Sierra was availble here in a Hungy Jacks (Burger King) Kids Meal, I used to have one and have been looking for a replacement. Were they a toy in a Kids meal in New Zealand?

Thats cool. I have absolutely no idea on that sorry. I'll do some research on it. I don't believe so, as I don't think we have a Hungry Jack's over here.

It makes me feel really happy I managed to get some actually rare stuff, as thats the first time I've ever seen cars at Trash Palace. What makes me more glad about them as they are one, if not my favourite Matchbox generation.

You may like this one, too. I know I do. :)

Does anyone want to see some of my 1:43 cars here or should I post them in the Model thread.
Ben - you are also welcome to post your photos of 1:43s (and anything smaller) in the "Miniature Photography" thread over at the Photo Forum, where they would be more accessible for viewing by both you and other members.
Car-wrecking graveyard shots?
:sly:

this is how it looked when it all came in:
IMG_3166.jpg
You got a copy of GT5 with it?!
BTW - Great bit of design work on that Porsche hot hatch, man - you are a creative genius, no doubt about that. Also caught your new upload to Gallery - will comment ;) later.

I do agree on the Fiero. I never liked the car, but the Boulevard model seems really cool & realistic.
Thanks for the info on the Ford GT. I ended up ordering the two GT's(silver/chrome looking one + red/white stripes), original Mini & old Jaguar E-Type. I was just gonna buy the two GT's, but the seller had other cool Matchbox cars I missed out on, plus shipping discount, so...
Ah! Another GT lover. I have the Ford GT in various scales - what a benchmark car. As for the Fiero - used to own one IRL - really liked it; a pocket rocket, and so many fun things about it, from the speakers in the headrest, to the moonroof which could be removed and stored under the bonnet. TG - those are Boulevards - they are stocked all the time - hopefully the stores I visit would have them as part of regularly ordered stock.
Good luck with the mod on the Maisto Porsche - I think I get what you mean - but whatever it means, I'm sure its honourable!👍

Here are some other packaged Maistos I have:

These are a few odds and ends I'd like Cano - and D'Wyvern, if he's around, to have a look at:

100_8411.jpg

100_8410.jpg

100_8406.jpg

These photos will be eventually going into the 'Miniatures Photography' Thread I was talking about; since this thread moves so quickly, and is filled with discussions and displays of collections, the 'special car' shots tend to get buried; the reason why I created a Gallery over there that we can all use together.

Robin! I know what you mean about the MB commercial and construction vehicles - here are some of my packaged MBs:

100_8449.jpg

100_8446.jpg

100_8438.jpg

100_8433.jpg

Talking about the quality and proportions of MBs Vs HWs (we were having this convo before but were somewhat sidetracked by corporate name-dropping ;) yes, I do agree - the division of Mattel that is MB definitely focuses on proportions and quality carried over from the former MB philosophies and their tampos are practically amazing in comparison to what comes out of the conveyor belt at HW. Matchbox has always been at the core of my collecting, though I do like Jada, and the Premium Maistos - like this Police car:

100_7462.jpg

Finally - before I hit the sack for a few hours of unconsciousness - this came into my possession recently. No, it's not an F1 GTR - the base says Prototype 12:
100_8502.jpg

And the shot I will place in the Miniatures Gallery:

100_8501.jpg

Busy with new work-projects once more but will visit again soon.

Cheers!:)
Harry.

Oh screw you, you have the even more rare gold 5-spoke version :0

I'mma show you people more stuff, this time off the supermarket and the flea markets. First the Wal Mart trash. There be Camaros:
IMG_7128.jpg

Mustangs (the brown 67 is really cool):
IMG_7129.jpg

and Mopar power, yo.
IMG_7133.jpg

We also have modern JDM, fiiiiinally a version of the NSX that I like:
IMG_7135.jpg

A smattering of classic JDM with the Mini and also finally a version of the 24 ours that I like:
IMG_7134.jpg

other euro classics and a pair of Chevrolets:
IMG_7132.jpg

More euro trash:
IMG_7131.jpg

and some worldwide Fords.
IMG_7130.jpg

oh, and this silly.
IMG_7136.jpg

Now for the flea market stuff, firs I'm gonna show you the cars that will be restored in the future:
IMG_7099.jpg

the 240Z is a very hard to find Tomica that still has the clear headlamps, the Matchbox ambulance looks complete and in good shape but lacks the rear doors, which will be custom-made; the hoodless E-Type Jaguar is an extremely rare Johny Lightning Topper (think HW redline, these were their competitors) and could be an even more rare Mexico-made version, I have yet to confirm that. I don't know if I'll restore the Matchbox 944 as I don't have another one, I'm already finding a windshield for the Playart tipper, and the Polistil cartooned Fiat didn't look like that when I bought it, but I already stripped, primered and white-based it. It looked like this:
IMG_6916.jpg

Now the "good cars":
IMG_7100.jpg

You already saw the Zonda; the Majorette Mercedes fire truck is pretty difficult to find with the water cannon; the bank truck is Matchbox, the Playart firetruck brings my count of those futuristic-cabins up to 7 (still missing a ton), and I found the mint Speed Machines Lotus, one of the few I like, for a buck.

And these are the oddest fleamarket grabs. All are 1:43 scale.
IMG_7084.jpg

The Camaro is a Matchbox Special race car in pretty nice shape, altough it has "Zorros" (Foxes") written with a marker. I still don't know if I'm gonna keep it as is or if I'll restore it, that's why I have not retired it.
IMG_7085.jpg

IMG_7087.jpg

The red remains are a made-in-Mexico... at least I'm almost sure, Polistil/Politoys/McGregor Lancia Beta fire dept. car, or wht's left of it. I honestly don't know if I'll be able to properly restore this one, but I couldn't leave it behind for the price.
IMG_7094.jpg

IMG_7096.jpg

IMG_7097.jpg

The coolest of the bunch is this french Majorette Toyota FJ, a bit tattered but decent.
IMG_7088.jpg

IMG_7089.jpg

surprise!
IMG_7090.jpg

IMG_7092.jpg

Dat's it for today. Tomorrow, more stuff.
