This is the new one.

You guys gotta be kidding me, IT'S SHINY RED versus black. If it was the standard red, I might actually get on board with that. But not that cheap brushed aluminum looking red.

You guys are crazy. I love you guys, but crazy.

Here's a quick side by side.

**edit - for the life of me, I can not horizontally display the comparison picture. Sorry guys, it's annoying.

Yeah, they really do look that bad in person(or good for some of you lol). Even if we can't agree on whether the red looks good or not, is it so hard to believe that there will be people who will be turned off by shiny colors? :dopey:

P.S. Thanks Jason, picked up the package today:

Mighty nice of you to add couple of extras for me. Thanks man!

Another edit: RACECAR, I said ghetto, not gangsta. What kind of American are you. j/k

^^^ No problemo.

This is the new one.

Matchbox. ;)

Edit: Anyone else notice that Wal-Mart is selling Muscle Machines again? Looks like Maisto bought the rights to the designs and have re-released them for sale. Saw them at Toys R Us too.

I think I saw them. Do they have oversized blowers on them? I really shouldn't though, I'm not a collector or anything anymore. :P

Why do these guys not bother with 510/Bluebird? Are they really that out of touch? Put 510 out in any scale, any style, THEY SELL. Look at Vintage Racing, that one was flat out impossible to obtain.

Yeah oversized blowers. I don't intend on buying them either, just thought it was weird that they are for sale again several years after they went off the market.

Both of those Chevys are couple of the good ones. 👍 Love the M1, too. I think M1 was one of the first two Hot Ones I purchased when they first came out. *edit I take that back. Porsche 917, then the M1 + GT40.

It was one of those dammit

Either, I was just trying to figure out what exactly made those red wheels on that car different from the Wheels on the other when (sans the color) they are basically the same wheels.

I never open packages, but I was looking at it again, and I had to open it.

It was spendy, but it was worth it. The paint show some weird glitter action, but it's from my poor lighting. Under normal lighting, the red color is more consistent.

Lastly, I finally learned to thumbnail. Sorry it took so long. :D

👍

Yeah, I've been after that one for a while. I was hoping to pick up some other Hot Ones as well yesterday. Unfortunately all that was left on the pegs were a couple of M1's.

Oh and damn, the Galaxie is absolutely killer.

Thanks guys. I know you guys wouldn't like the price($4.49), but if there's a model you fancy in this 2012 Stockcar series, I hope you consider it. Hot Wheels did a good job on this one.

goat: What other Hot Ones in your future plans? Lately, it's been the CR-X + that pick-up RV thing, but I found them both. I'm just waiting for the throwback Supra & Subaru Brat at this point.

Oh, a couple. I've already got the '83 Silverado, '84 Hurst Olds. I've got my eye on a few more, CR-X, Supra, Baja Bug, Chev Monza, Long Gone and '80's Firebird. Hopefully, I'll be able to find these eventually.

Subaru Brat would be awesome. 👍
I don't know if you've seen it, but: Supra - Brat

I missed this part:
The 2012 Hot Ones series will feature even more nostalgics from the 1980s. The list thus far includes new castings such as the 1985 Honda CR-X, Subaru BRAT, Plymouth Arrow (Mitsubishi Lancer Celeste) Funny Car, ’87 Toyota (which is likely a pickup), ’85 Yamaha V-Max, and a retool of the original A60 ’82 Supra. same Supra link

Crazy. Absolutely crazy. :D:tup: *edit - I had to look up this Lancer Celeste, and now I want to punch Hot Wheels in the face. lol

I had to look up "Long Gone". We are gonna have to buy two of that! j/k And loco or frog I think mentioned a Greyhound bus to be released from the Hot Ones series? I'm hoping they come through with that one.

Oh right, they're actually going to do them (thought it was just a suggestion), that's real cool. 👍

I like the Celica-Supra (how it was named over here) IRL, but i'm not really digging the old casting of it.
The Brat looks cool though, would look good with a smaller wheel swap (ride height permitting), and maybe a re-spray.
I really like how HW are showing some love for the Japanese classics.

I'm really hoping they get around to doing some kei cars as well, Mitsubishi AZ1 would be a must.

I actually passed on the red line Aston. :P I need the red line Maverick though, and another STi. Where did you find the Garage? I missed out on most of them, but I thought they had really cool cars in that series.

In Japan, it was called Celica XX(Double 'X'). I still remember when they changed it to 'Supra', we were 🤬

Not a huge fan of Kei-cars, but there are plenty of cool ones. I wonder if they ever did the original Civic? Old Tomica one is absolutely money in the bank. Not a Kei-car, but I'd love to see Hot Wheels come out with that one.

That Belvedere was a holdover at an Autoparts store (I believe Advance Auto, truthfully). I had to be on shelf for over a year; I'd noticed it on at least 5 separate visits before finally snapping it up. It's a nicely detailed piece. 👍

Anything involving the Petty name is worth something eventually. Keep it nice! I'm a big sucker for the Aero Wars cars from '67-'70, and when I found out about his RestoMod Superbird he made in '09, I started scrounging. Lo and behold, Johnny Lightning actually made a copy for the 2010 model line.

Oh i have had that thing for 8 years and theres not a scratch on it! Got several of them belvedere's to be honest and they are all still in mint condition! Frankly i think they have special paint and decos that don't scratch very easily because them belvedere's i have, have been through alot since i got them back in 2004 and they still look like they came fresh out of the box! I got more petty vehicles from them general mills cereal boxes than just the belvedere, i'll upload pictures of them sometime:)

With the hot wheels designers doing more CCJDM, i'd love to see some kei cars. Lol but understandably they'd have to be closer to 1/60,1/5x scale to actually fit in the box and use decent wheels.

I'm really looking foreward to the hot ones toyota truck. It has the same scheme as the one my uncle used to own when i was little. Lol red pickup lifted and on some huge dirt tires with the usual 80s style pinstripes across the side. I'd try pick one up for the both of us lol.

The Celica/Supra is a must! they haven't released it yet?

I know this isn't a hot wheel or a matchbox but could someone please tell me what this is? It is an ERTL but I don't know what it is called.

Found it garage saleing for $.50 and my son liked it so I picked it up. Paint has defiantly seen better does but I would like to know what I have here.

Thanks.
