You lucky dog..... That El Camino was my first ever TH find. Never seen that Mustang TH before. Wheldon, as you might know, I NEVER came across in stores.

I tell you what, my jaw almost hit the floor when I saw those TH's. The last thing, I expected to see were any TH's let alone 2 from the 2011 series. And the Wheldon, well I've been searching for that for ages, lucky too as that was the only one I could see on the pegs. All in all, quite a worth while trip yesterday. :D

Bad Cano. Reporting behaviour.

pssssst: will keep eye out for one.

Edit: Well, this is great. I log on to do some posting - taken lots of pics - and PB is down.

Photobucket up!! Hey! Ace! Take a gander at this licence plate. Can you read it?

I think they called this the Rumble Seat. If Jenkins was driving I'd call it the Catbird seat.

Another Bat dropped by:

A nice, though packaged, view of The Machine:

I have 3 of those batmobiles; 2 i gutted for wheels.

And 3 AMCs for their wheels. 2 went on the delorean, the other iis going on a 92 Stang. Turning it into a sleeper Drag racer.

Yes, the wheels on both the Bat and the AMC are good-looking wheels and would do wonders on a lot of cars - I can see why you would cannibalise multiples.
Got to leave for the moment, so I'll just throw a few packages here (since you guys were chatting about whether to keep the packages or not.) There's a few loose cars, too in this display.

But they aren't at least the completely awful ones.
I have a previous generation mustang Maisto that's actually really well done.
I still use it as my paint-experiment car though just because it's a Maisto.

Maistos in package, that's even worse

Yes. ;) Another one of my convoluted examples; as in: Keep your cars in the packages until you are ready to open them. Do not under any circumstances take them out of the packages before you open them.
Packages keep them safe and clean, and all, until you are ready to open them.
This particular line of Maistos is cheap inexpensive - available at most 'Dollar' stores. To keep them in the packages is the sign of a very healthy DVA.
All doubles can be immediately opened so that they don't 'get in the way'. :dopey:

I have that Diablo, and I'm having a hard time finding good wheels for it. Hot wheel's size 1s look small when put on, and size 2s don't fit.

Another 'package' spoke that branches out from the hub of collecting (anything) is the fact that some things are 'collectibles' not toys for playing with or outright mauling with a power tool. They may even be branded 'Collectible'. These increase of course in monetary value because there are other DVAs out there who cannot live without collectibles. They do that. Collect. For instance if there is a special release of a certain product, specially inked to mark some momentous event, say a 50th Anniversary, they'll get that set and it stays packaged till they bequeath it to the cat in their Will. (That's just an example, not all bequeath everything to their cat.)

Like this set:

Which can be bought as a set, or sourced individually - that leads to the hunt for treasure and the thrill of the find; one of the visceral feelings some collectors live for. No feeling like when you have the full set. If you paid a lot less than the original retail, all the better. Eventually these go up in price. I bought these over the course of several years, paying well below retail - most times at 75% off, till I finally got the entire set, all mint. All of them from neighborhood stores. They sell for a bit more now on sites like eBay. I have never seen a complete set on sale:

Doubles should be opened immediately, scrutinised, tested, etc.

Others should be opened when needed - but check your grocery stocks first; in packages these can be sold for more than loose.

Weird. Saw nothing I hoped to see, but saw some weird cars, new cars, so I picked them up!

Caddy concept's so cool, I had to get a extra to pop one of them open. Toon Formula car thing's pretty neat, too!
This is yours? Very cool. 👍

Well, you know what they say, "the early bird gets the worm!" Well, I think I got two this week!:sly:
I get emails from Kit Kringle when they stock up and Sunday I had gotten one saying there were a few new Treasure Hunts, so my dad offered to go and get them while I was at college Monday and these are what I got.

A Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe and a 69' Ford Mustang.:dopey:

Gonna have to pick up that white Ford Lightning to match the black one I already have.

Love the reissues. 👍
Screw you all and your supermarket JLs.
You don't know if I got them from a supermarket!

Yeah, I did. I bought boxes of .308 shells & Johnny Lightning cars at the super market. Only in America.

It's really awesome when your mom works at a super market, and she puts up the Hot Wheels display. Then she makes sure to get you the THs out of the shippers.

Pffft. Some Wal-Marts here now you can eat, get a haircut, get some pictures taken, buy a house or a car, grocery shop, electronics, etc, etc. One-stop-shop.

Anywho, stopped at a few stores today. Only one that gave anything up was Target where I picked up a Hot Ones "Long Gone" (surprised to actually see one as they are hoarded) and the silver 350Z that's been out for a while that I just now got around to purchasing. Also picked up a package from the apartment office that had all the NSX's I traded for in it. :dopey:

Will post a photo shortly as I have to do it from my phone...

I made the mistake of stopping by the local flea market. Here's the numbers:
2.5 hours
$38
49 mid 90s to early 00s cars

Pictures later. :D
