also need to post in this thread and not be so caught up in the scale model thread, instead of lurking..like a ninja

So some updates, i finally tracked down both the Datsun 510 wagon (squee!!) and hakosuka special from boulevard, was stupid excited in the store when i found them... embarrassed myself. bought 3 of each...and 4 civics for a project, first spoon replica street car, then spoon race car replica, fast and furious black replica, and a regular...as for the "datsuns" ...just wanted, needed, have to have multiples.

Also finally tracked down the greenlight black bandit focus and mustang GT and SLS... again, too much excitement in public.

also need to post some projects i been doing.... so far behind.

Great list! 👍

Just remember the 1/43 scale and larger cars go in the scale model thread. :D
This thread no longer has 1:43 cars? :guilty:

But besides that, Looky!

I am inlove with that 512 M, it just looks so nice and the wheels compliment it very nicely, however the daytona, not digging the blue with red and white stripes...the red variation is alot nicer and i purchased it at K-mart for 3 bucks..down from 5?(was the msrp ever that high?) anyway, only 2 missing are the beautiful 250GTO and 288 GTO i will hunt them down...because no way am i paying 108.00$ plus shipping for a single red 250GTO on ebay....people are crazy:crazy:

Stumbled into an antique mall on the way home. Inside this small (less than 20,000 sq feet) mall was a booth with hot wheels...and they were all 50% off. I could tell they hadnt been looked over for awhile, especially since the sale sign was marked 30, then 40 and now 50% off. Spent just under twenty bucks on 11 cars. Grabbing some dinner, watching hockey and THEN posting the lot up.

Thank you!

You guys buy from Tracey's Different Things - eBay Store?

http://stores.ebay.com/Traceys-Different-Things?_trksid=p2047675.l2563

She's got a lot of old beat up hot wheels and matchboxes for a $1 each. I already bought a few rides myself and shipping is fairly inexpensive.
Appreciate the intel. I will check her out.

I don't believe it ever did?(I could be wrong).

I think 288 GTO you are referring to is 308 GTS? No way I'm selling that, but 250 GTO, I could sell you one for $3 + shipping. Only catch is, the set came with a gray/blue-looking one. It's actually carded, unlike the other Ferraris in the set, which were loose(as seen in your pic).

If you want to buy one from me, let me know. I don't need the one that came with set, because I had to have the red one, and I bought one on eBay.

Oh, it was based on a real car? Not that I wanted another S2000, but I was gonna buy that. Very good looking car. Even cooler now that I know it's based on a real life tuner car. 👍

EDIT: Just looked up glow in the dark matchbox sold listings on eBay and the BMW goes for $10!

Good purchase with the Greenlight BB SLS... stunning model. So glad there is a company like greenlight, that bring kyosho quality to the 1:64 scale for america excluding M2 and JL.

The 308 GTS is the one at the top in red, I am looking for the 288 GTO in metallic silver or red and a 250 GTO specifically in the limited edition red, but will take any 250 i can get my hands on for the right price so i am interested.

Heres the 288 GTO i am looking for

JL is a tad nicer than HW, but it is much lesser than M2 and Greenlight.

I'm making that judgement based off onry that Greenlight and the two onry JLs I own, so if a grain of salt is needed, then take this post in with appropriate precautions :P

I do like JL's efforts in increasing quality, better paint and rubber tires, reminds of when they did the detailed import heat versions from back in the Tuner boom day, they ended up producing alot of really detailed and new castings.

Heres an evo from the premium JL from back in the day

Lots of nice details, glass head and tailights with details, rubber tires...but horribly scaled wheels. but still an amazing effort.

I will say that i find myself buying alot of the NEO JL vehicles, like the 90" jeep wrangler,92" ford lightning and 93" GMC typhoon. they all look great, nice details and look like greenlight's except for tampos instead of plastic head and tail lights, but that could be fixed if JL bring out another premium 1:64 diecast line, but for right now, Greenlight are on top, and hot on the heels of kyosho and tomica limited... but not the vintage variation of TL...they are in a class of there on then again so is the price (1:64 wise)

Beautiful Johny lightning F150 lightning.

Plus with tomicas plan to bring the tomica limited line to the US...diecast wars could get very interesting, and will only help eveybody increase in quality, Heres praying hotwheels throughs down an Elite line in 1:64...now is the time Hotwheels! i mean even motormax through down an elite line for 2012 but it's pretty rare...but the details are up with greenlights.

Heres one i bought in Freds(max-way) in a blister pack with 4 other detailed cars, and it's not from the premium line either, But look at the details, Tampos every where, Glass head lights that are actually detailed inside, sepperate mercedes emblem on the grill which is also sepperate to the hood, Glass tailights(again with tiny details inside and no studs, and a fairly detailed interior. 8 bucks for the whole pack which also included an awesome zonda, mercielago, production V12 nardo and a supra with some hideous wheels( i took care of that in a project) but still this was just a regular release and it was that detailed...it's pretty stunning and displays nicely alongside it's son the GL black bandit SLS.

Yes i know boulevard, but they still use tampos, i'm talking actual detailed models with sepperate peices. Like i said hotwheels, drop a Elite line in 1:64... you have it in 1:43...and 1:18 so whats the deal.

Also, I take it back, greenlight surpassed tomica limited, since alot of tomica limited models have front glass headlights(or some even painted like the GT86) but the rear lights will be painted(although highly painted, to the point they look glass) on the majority of there models, where as greenlights are consistent all the way through, with out being over priced. TL 10-15$ more detailed GL 3-6$

I wasn't familiar with them, so I went with one of the cheapest ones I found on eBay(roughly $11).

Ah, OK. I thought you were talking about the set in the picture. 👍
TL 10-15$ more detailed GL 3-6$
Tomica Limited I've seen, the MSRP seems to run around $7? TL's I've actually purchased cost more, but due to additional markup by the sellers. I've recently bought a car from a line I think was called TL Vintage? Not sure of the MSRP on that one.

I'm not too sure how many of you are fond of - or even remotely care about - Mopar muscle, but I'm going to make you tomorrow with a dump of my Playing Mantis Johnny Lightning Mopars while we're on the subject of that make.

Absolutely ruthless. He's even smiling about it!

R1600Turbo

I'll take a look. Thanks for the intel Jason. 👍

Now I'm getting this S2K regardless 👍! This is a 1:64 scale of Evasive's Time Attack AP S2000, I seen that car before in the mags, and I love it to death.

But I like the HW S2K bodykit, now if I can get to some designs and combine some of my ideas into it and get it copyrighted, I'm calling HW ASAP for a bodykit idea! 💡

I did say I love the car, right? :sly:👍

AOS-
Love the pics Ando 👍. is the red car a custom of yours? Got a badass muscle feel with some tuner specs combined.

Bring on the Mopars and Hemis.

Good news from today, my mom got me a chest for my room decor that she ordered from QVC last week. It really helped me with my car storage until I look at those IKEA box shelves soon. So at least I got my storage issues solved for awhile. :D

Edit: Hey Jason, I'll take the three 911 GT2s, the three Charger SRT8 Drift cars, the MB Challenger SRT, the Three CTS-Vs, the two BMW E92 M3s, and the silver, green and yellow Gallardo Superleggras. Do you also have a spare yellow S2K and a 370Z Z34 as well?

Let me know if you have anything planned for the cars for your display or projects, but if not, add those to my box. Thanks :)

Oh yeah, I'll also take the blue GT500 SuperSnake, the GT40, the white Gran Torino Talledega, the VW Sorricco GT and the MB GT500 Convertible.

I'm not sure if it's the same thing, but I'm pretty sure I have a few of those disc things in the left hand side package. Doubt they are anything to do with HWs, though. IIRC, they're just some futuristicish cars. Probably worth nothing, but I'll see where they are at.

Nice looking cars there guys, going to have to search for some of those:tup:

Impressive! Hontouni sugoi desu yo!

There is also a plain body version of this painted in British racing green. Hmmmm.... I might add that to my Kyosho hunt list. Hopefully the store has it by tomorrow. :P

Shush Cano, I can barely keep up with that.

(though I do have a relatively short attention span)
