I saw a handful of 24/7 color shifter things at that one store I sometime go that stock bunch of old cars? They had them on clearance I think for $1.11 or something. I grab one, try to get in the line at the cashier..... it was like flashflood. Everybody in the store hit the cashiers at once. I left it there & walked out.

Well I paid $2.50 for mine (clearance sticker on the back said $2.63) and have never seen them in the stores, so I'll take it. :dopey:

Edit: Heard back about the car I never received from eBay. Apparently, his computer caught a nasty virus and he's scurrying to catch up with sales. Supposedly...

 Revenge will be mine one day, infidel!

Well, to get back to the opening story - as soon as I had the Nardo for company, the rest of the noobs were shoved to a side, and I had a look at the Boulevards I wanted to open - I also had some older '09s, '10s and so on that I wanted to add to my open collection for dioramas:

And so once again the pile on my left begins to diminish under the onslaught of my razor-like scalpel boxcutter:

Like this one?

I just received it in the mail today. :P

Are they ever coming to the States?

Yep, if I ever get that 935 right there. But yeah that what I do though. ;)

But unfortunately, they aren't sold here.

Fine by me - after all your angle on the cars may be quite different to ours - I don't mind seeing some models over and over - if it's someone else posting it. Viewpoints are different and panoramas of parts of a collection are nice. Many of the cars that DW, Ben and Cano show are ones I have seen before, or have in my collection, but it's nice to know they have them, too.
I have also seen tons of cars in this thread that I have never seen before in my life - from the three mentioned, as well as from other posters, some of whom don't drop in as regularly as we do.

I think for a guy like you, who has consistently shown that he has this amazing knowledge of the different marques, model variations, popular mods and customs, etc, etc, it would be a more ludicrous claim to actually not have any model cars.

Photobucket is killing me right now, though, Phil - it won't let me upload anything anymore; and I have plenty of space left in my account, have emailed them and awaiting some action - I'm working with older photos that have been uploaded previously. Already investigating other hosters (easy enough to sign up - a few clicks of the mouse, since all sites out there are looking for activity - it's what keeps them alive) - but I hate shifting loyalties, so I'm going to try and wait till PB fixes its new layout (modifications to the site are going on, and is part of the problem - others are whining, too)

Good luck with getting your pics going, anyway. 👍

Will you shut up? Already on my case . . . and who is Eduardo!! Does he have scissorhands? Plus . . . Question! Shinji = shinri?
TBH - the one who pees me off here the most is you because you don't collect, yet every car you have is one that I need/want/desire/salivate over, etc. Satisfied now? Keep posting pics of the recent cars you have stopped collecting; I need to see what I have to want.
I understand now that the cars you stop collecting are the ones you already have. :sly:

Those are older photos, Goat . . . I am actually using this spare time to post undisturbed for a change.
And I can smell grilled lamb . . . and steamed cabbage . . . for dinner, so not moving for awhile. :dopey:

Need to post more older pics which I haven't posted, so I aim to be here for awhile. Hopefully. :)

Edit:
Nardo!!

I freed it some time ago, and it has been around town already, even going so far as to drift on several bar and restaurant counters. Managed to avoid the car thieves so far. (You'd be amazed at who would filch a HW off you. Try carrying one around and just casually bring it out in company. It may not come back.)

Yeah, you're right about that Harry. Soon I'll get some pictures up. I have a set of pics when I did some updates on my collection from last year. So when ever PB fixes their problems, I'll get them uploaded.

So I see you are boarded in, so it's HWs time!!! I love the Nardo from MB. I even seen a purple Nardo from MB in the sports cars and super cars pack, but that was a long time ago though. Gotta get me one for my VW collection.

@R1600: Scored some good cars there bro. Did the guy have any EP3s or any other JDM cars at the meet?

Nardo was awesome indeed. 👍

What is that #8 car with a funky roof? Neat looking little car. 👍

eBay sellers are so paranoid about feedbacks, transactions rarely go awry(Garage GTO was the last one). Toy Peddler, I am having issue with a seller who won't respond, and I'll most likely have to file dispute through PayPal.

Damn shame.

Well went to Kit Kringle today and me and my brother picked up a few good ones.:) No Sierra's or Rigor Motors there, unfortunately.:indiff: The stock was pretty high.:)👍

Here are my purchases:
Final Run series Porsche Carrera. Been wanting one of these!:D

Silhouette II. Got another one of these. It's going to be a wheel donor for my Countach I'm planning to restore.:)

Will post my brother's findings later.;)

Edit: Reuploaded since I no longer need Photobucket.

The #8 is a Ford Anglia - had this for the longest time, and was hesitant to open it, but it's not that rare, or valuable (in the strictly 'collector' sense) so I decided to add it to my garage. I used to ride in one as a kid -it was a pretty fancy car in it's time.
IMG_0096_zps9d572e59.jpg

I agree about eBayers' fear of negative feedback. Good feedback - both as buyer and seller - is important for survival at eBay. I'm an eBayer myself - with two stores - though I really haven't auctioned anything in ages. I used to also be a strong member on their Forums at one time - though not anymore - the community is not the same there as it used to be, say, ten years ago. I even won a Forum Award once over there . . . but that was a long time ago. :)

So here we are now - with more noobies sent off to the garage, and the new 'stars' hanging out by the staging area, waiting for the next lot to be uncarded:
I was hungry for the MB 5 Pack with the VW - and the delectable Bone Shaker. Probably everybody has one of those.
IMG_0097_zpsfab7d59e.jpg

So I gave in and purchased one of the loose $uper Toyota 2000GT's off eBay. The guy has over 20,000 feedback at 100%, so going to take a chance that they are not stolen and snag one. :nervous:

a6m5's going to rat on you and you'll be off to jail, Jason. Trust him.

Nice Pics, 'Gamer! Okay, I'm jelly about the monster trucks, Ben.

Another thing i forgot to mention i did get some Testor's Gloss White paint to restore my old Countach and i also got that chrome spray paint i mentioned in the customizing thread. Will test it out tommorrow probly.;)

GO TO HELLING HELL IF YOU GRABBED THE STEERING RIG DUDE, TO HEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLL

You did, right?

You betcha!!

Cost me just this much!

I'm a return buyer to this guy. Sure enough the item arrived smelling like smoke, but a thorough and delicate cleaning later and good as new. Now I just have to find someone at a show or flea market who was some wheels. (I'll never find them, but the hunt will make it worthwhile!)

Hit my Randomizer button and it brought up this:
And this:

Got both Red Bulls AND an error? Nice! I was pretty happy to have noticed the "5" by luck when I first saw one. It was the only one I ever saw ever again.

I just received it in the mail today. :P

Great. Now I'm no longer the only one to have Road Racers here. How much did you pay for it?

AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHH I HATE YOUUUUUUUUUUUU

And not much so because you found the damn thing for peanuts, but because you force me to give you my extra set of wheels. Don't look for them any more, you got'em already. We just need to start a trade chain or something, so get me some pics of what you've got.

Thanks. :) Yes, we're both in the same boat; Canadian retailers are nuts. Fortunately for you, you shop online, too. I basically dropped off the 'net for awhile, and trying to recover all my old accounts, Pay pal, etc, etc, is a long and tedious nightmare. I am afraid to start shopping online again, though, Andy - as Cano once said - this thing will eat your babies. However, I know as time goes by I might drift back into it - if only to get one or two of those models I really, really want; paying excessive postage is what bugs me.

When I looked at the HW Corvette, I realised how much smaller than an authentic 1:64 it was. I had to compare it with a 1:64 I had from Jada:

IMG_0102_zps017e813c.jpg

Quite a big difference. This wrecks my scaling when dabbling with dioramas.
I have to make sure the scales are appropriate to each other.

IMG_0104_zps6463d3b4.jpg

I know. They never say a word. Just the odd squeak. ;)

I did open the MB 5 Pack - and also started on the other delicacies - the Trailer needed a pick-up; so I gave it one.

As you can see the scales are all over the place.

I just got the thing today...I have not had a chance yet to look for wheels. There's a show in a couple weeks for the local HW club. If no one there has a set, I could take you up on the offer. I may have something you want, I may not. I don't have thaaaaat much stuff.

Only thaaat much. :)

That five-pack is awesome, Harry(I'm sure I paid less :P). 👍 I'm gonna look around for that Anglia sometime. Such neat car!

DW: Nice Big Foot! 👍 Hopefully adequate shoes arrive soon.

Andy: I think I paid $18 on toy peddler($10+shipping).
Trust him.
:P

Those things gotta be stolen, Jason. Somebody intercepted shipment that was on the way to Mattel is what I'm thinking.

..........................DVA Denial Post ....................I don't have thaaaaat much stuff.

You have stuff stuffed in your basement from ceiling to floor - there is pictorial evidence. In this thread. What I'm hearing is: "I don't want anyone to touch any of my precious swag."

He was warned. The moment he clicked on it he was in trouble. Probably squad cars outside his place even as we speak.

I really liked freeing these: :)

IMG_0109_zpsaa676ff7.jpg

That got my motor running, so I picked off a few more from the wall that night - some old, some new - but ones which I had been hungering for awhile to open.

IMG_0116_zpsfeb437af.jpg

So quickly done and to the final two again:

IMG_0117_zpsf0a19438.jpg

But then I thought - WTH - I'm on a roll - may as well open a couple of monster trucks, too - since I was planning a Monster Jam Diorama.

IMG_0120_zps68811f6f.jpg

Yeah, the Speed Machines accidently fell into the pile, too.

Wow, you really wanted that 935, Shinji! I wouldn't had paid anywhere above $10 for one.

Because I never needed to.

At first, I went after 935 by Tomica, Kyosho, but they all slipped through, or the pricing were just outrageous. Believe it or not, I could have done worse than $18 for even the Hot Wheels Racing one.

The response from the guy with that auction:

Hi, Thanks for letting me know. Yes, some of these cars have the rivets taken out and they are in pieces. I wasn't sure what the reason was. Also, I didn't understand why there were so many of the same cars. I am just going to cancel the auction and throw the cars out. Thank you for letting me know again.

Anyone want some shells before they get tossed?

 That was quick, Jason! ;) 👍

Here are the Monsters:

With the Monsters out of the way - it was finally down to the Midnight Otto and the MOTU Pickup:

IMG_0123_zpsc1edb018.jpg

And there we are - the close of another 'Opening Story' - I actually didn't have anything in my 'IN' tray to the left:

IMG_0124_zps9a4e4ff8.jpg

Everything for this session was done, and I had some nice new models ready to roll into the playgrounds I make for them . . . while I watch - from a distance. ;) (With my camera, of course.)

IMG_0125_zpsae252dae.jpg

In case you're wondering about the Mustang and the Z - they are 1:64 Jada Tracksters that came along for the ride.

Don't know what bodies are being tossed, but I have no interest. Though I'd let you know.

Anywho, why do people fight over the Karmann Ghia?

It doesn't even look that pretty. See above.
