I'll take that NSX off your hands. If I were you, wyvern, I would've grabbed that NSX even if I didn't need it. There's always someone who'll pay $5 for it.

Or $12.50, which is what I got out-bid on eBay.

Thought I got mine for $10 shipped but the guy included the red one too so technically I got it for $3. :dopey:

Any of you guys have one of these?

Don't think I've seen one with red wheels before, but I may be wrong.

Also found one of these at the Zellers that was closing up.

For $3. HAH.

Yup, they sure are.

edit: Wait! No! No they are not! I had to check again. Don't scare me like that!

I thought you had a worthless ALW error there but I guess it's just that godforsaken angle you insist on using.

I thought of a different camera angle while I took that shot. It'll fall straight into the conventional category but it works for more car shapes than this.

I have always liked the contemporary look of your photos and these ones the best actually, but I just think that angle does not show the cars' details and design adequately. It's like you're trying to make your photos more form than function.

P.S. I am reading your blog and I like what I'm seeing (and reading) so far! 👍

It's like you're trying to make your photos more form than function.

That makes very little sense. Form is 3-dimensional, we're talking photos here. The overly-used statement realistically applies to tangible things like objects.

If anything, I'm being too rational with this; selecting one angle and only sticking with that the whole time. I'm not regretting it a whole lot either. It's an uncommon angle most people don't use to photograph their cars with. That alone makes my photos more outstanding and easier to identify. If there's an angle I refuse to use, it's the 3/4 view where the camera is at eye-level (if you pretend the car is life-size). Everyone does it, it's a plain old point-and-shoot, it's boring and uninteresting.

Thanks for the blog compliments though!

I wasn't using that as a literal phrase to pictures, but as a figurative one in the sense that I see your photos are more to look different and artistic (form) than actually showcasing the car itself (function). I'm not saying that's what you're doing, but what I'm seeing. My fault for not being precise enough with my intents of that comment.

Yes, of course! I figured I'd comment on everything because I know I'd like that for my blog. Yes, that's correct, I have a blog. I have been wanting one since I started reading John's Lamley Group. Seeing yours officially made up my mind to make one.

I'm working on my first real post now and will link you to my blog when that is done.
Obviously though, the layout is still under heavy construction.

So apparently Mattel goofed and put "Feb. 9th" on the K-Days boxes and a lot of stores had their collector meets on Saturday, even though all the signage says the 16th. Hopefully my store didn't jump the gun. I called them Friday and they said the 16th, will call again tomorrow to see if they are sticking to that day. Not going to be happy if they already put their stuff out.

Good luck mate, hopefully still on the 16th, looks like a lot of great cars in that lot:tup: Can't wait to start seeing them over here:D

Went to a couple of stores I hadn't been to for a couple of weeks today, here's what I grabbed:)

Also finally found a 599XX to match my $TH:dopey:

And lastly is eBay delivery, Matchbox Australia's First Collection 1997 - Ford Falcon.
The plastic on the packaging was really sun damaged but had to have them:sly:

I just got the thing today...I have not had a chance yet to look for wheels. There's a show in a couple weeks for the local HW club. If no one there has a set, I could take you up on the offer. I may have something you want, I may not. I don't have thaaaaat much stuff.

Only thaaat much. :)

Ok, let me know. Also:

You have stuff stuffed in your basement from ceiling to floor - there is pictorial evidence. In this thread. What I'm hearing is: "I don't want anyone to touch any of my precious swag."

This, come on, you must have been laughing and troll-faceing when you wrote that.

The response from the guy with that auction:
Anyone want some shells before they get tossed?

Haha dude if I had known you were gonna take the auction down I wouldn't have said anything lol, that was a killer price for all that stuff

Anywho, why do people fight over the Karmann Ghia?
It doesn't even look that pretty. See above.

To be sincere, HW's Karmann Ghia has an awesome concept, but it has never been released in a version that makes it look like a legit road race car, the worse versions are the ones that look like rat rods. I'd really like to customize one, but they're hard as hell to find and pretty expensive, as everything VW (my best chance would be a Classsics version, I reckon). Back in its day when it came out as a very difficult to find basic car, I found three of them in the pegs, kept one and traded the other two for the 2006 '69 Chrager TH (the one that looked like the General Lee). Never saw one again. Today it would be a straight one-on-one deal.

Cano - The Karmann Ghia with the surfboard - what's the story? Awesome looking car!

Jada toys, cost me $2 at a flea market.

Alright, it's about time for me to take a huge dump all over this page.

I went shopping today, and ran into a little sale: Even the M2s were on sale there. 👍

This place is so ancient, they even have left over Delivery Series trucks. Walmart did have the oddball Matchbox "Lesney Edition", which I've never seen at Walmart + handful of new Johnny Lightning, but that was it.

I really, really hate you people and your supermarket premium cars. You really have no idea how easy you have it over there.

Edit: Been meaning to post these two cars for a while now.

I, just like the rest of you, do not particularly care for Hot Wheels originals or fantasy cars.
However, when done properly, the can actually look quite good. Just like the Super Blitzen and Amazoom I posted earlier.
These cars are clearly of that kind. I really like the design element on the front; simple but very attractive.

The Prototype 24 is also one of the few HW original designs I love, as it obviously picks its inspiration in the Porsche 917, right down to the gigantic fan on the rear; the entire car is a homage to the wild proportions of the 917. I love it.

As for the Amazoom, while it is indeed a HW original design, the concept is not. Google for Stock Car V8 Brazil and see for yourself. The car isn't called Amazoom in reference to the Amazon River for nothing (:

Maybe starting tomorrow. Since I ordered probably seven other cars tonight. :guilty:

P.S. Cano, your Super TH Hot Bird is EXPENSIVE! I want one, but not for $30+

Yeah, you've done collecting. Also, I must have traded that car for some other random TH I had lying around. I've never paid for a $TH not will I.

I'm in Kmart at the moment...
Final run catapult and several other crap cars... :(

Lol I have like 6 of those waiting to be Dremeled for their Comolded 5 tires.

Any of you guys have one of these?
2005_130.jpg

One of the most expensive and scarce THs ever. I've never seen it under $50 over here. Never looked for it en E-Bay.

And finally:

Tell us Jarrod, how do you use pencils upside down? Don't you just end up erasing everything? :P

 loooool

I'd add $1 to the cost + actual shipping. If you want it, PM me your address and I'll get a quote from usps.

I didn't make him take it down.

I just informed him they were drilled and wanted him to change the auction accordingly.

Nice cars guys. 👍 I don't think I've ever seen Siku cars here ever.

P.S. Stopped by Toys R Us. As usual, nothing. I really need to stop wasting my time there. It's beyond me how a toy store doesn't restock biggest names in toy cars. Really, hot wheels inventory situation is the same thing I'm observing in ammunition for firearms. You go to these stores, and it's bare shelves, except for crap that nobody wants.

For $3. HAH.
Reminds me of the Vintage Racing one I have(not my pic). I also got it just because it was on sale.

Thanks man. I had a change of heart. :D

I like the car, but like Cano said, it was going for crazy money on eBay. I cooled down on that, reaaaaaaly quick.

Lucky lucky. That's a car I'm gonna be on a look out for. 👍

I got pics of the new arrivals here.

Dodge+Charger+1970+%28hw+garage%29.jpg

Those two cars were missing from the original parcels they came in and today they've arrived!

Also, woot to the new camera angle? Shinji's stuff came in as well. Took a nice pic of the Stingray.

Also, woot to the new camera angle?

Bad. Ass. 👍

Where is the Land Rover from? Really nice detail job. Really nice, period. 👍
Real Hot Bird to be on the lookout for:
Don't do nothing for me bro. Not even little bit.

Edit: I realize how ignorant I must sound to seasoned collectors, but I can't help it.

Matchbox Land Rover Defender.

A Sought-after casting from me. If you find any that isn't that Zebra Sahara camo or Anaconda Rescue, I'll take it.

Never seen any of those. Never noticed those cool wheels before! They make the car look high-end. I thought the casting looked like Matchbox, but those wheels threw me off. I found one. :D

Nah, I understand. It's pretty horrible in poop brown but it's one of the rarest Hot Birds ever made. Ok, I'll tell you what to really look for disregarding collecting value:

One of these should at least move you a bit.

I really like the 2005 one. Hawt. 👍

Boulevard one I do have, Garage one, I just ordered yesterday on eBay for $4.95. That Super TH I think is still the coolest one. 👍

lol, I don't really like the TH/$TH version, but I collect the casting, so I had to have it.

I saw & like the regular TH version, too. It's gold. It's shiny. What's not to like? :P

P.S. Some of you know I like using toy peddler. I've ran into some flakes recently. Two sellers who won't respond at all, one seller who refunded PayPal saying the car wasn't for sale. This week, a seller who says they will give you negative feedback if you don't pay within five days, yet, his PayPal says that he's currently not able to accept payments. Two emails, still no replies.

Just want to give you guys the heads up. I also have two transactions pending I paid for, but haven't received any confirmation. It's bit scary, very annoying.
