Lol, Car Town cars. I play that game & heard they where going to be making toy versions of some of the cars in the game. Cool.

Yep. That's right. They got the Ford Pinto, Plymouth Superbird, Bel Air, Camaro ZL1, Pizza Truck and Taco Truck. And I think they come with codes that will allow you to unlock those cars in Car Town. Collect all six, as the game hands you a $75,000 bonus, a wall plaque and a 1967 Shelby GT500.

At least you got good work out of it. :P

Was it competitive like the last one? Did people get to open fresh cases, taking turns, etc? I wonder how wyvern will do at the flea market.....

If I see the Bel Air, I think I'd buy that, too. I did see something about facebook & games or something, but I don't do facebook or games, so I had no idea.

Well, I got plenty of good purchases this week!:)

Here are my brother's purchases from last week I meant to post:

Ford Stake Bed Truck. Yeehaw!:dopey:

Final Run series Lamborghini Diablo.

Chevy 1500. My brother got this to replace his old, scratched-up one.:) His old one is so beat up, there is very little evidence it ever had graphics in the 1st place.

Ford F-150. Never seen this one before! My brother has an obsession for trucks, anything like this or the Dodge Ram, he gets every version he finds. He always has loved them.

Here is what I got on Valentine's day:):

Tri and Stop Me.

Tarmac Attack.

Here is what I picked up yesterday:

2001 Dodge Intrepid. This was one of them Richard Petty diecast vehicles that they used to have with General Mills cereals back in like 2003 or 2004. I used to collect these like crazy back then, I still have a bunch of mines I got back in the days, some are still perfectly mint. I wish Hot Wheels would do this again.:indiff: Seen this one at Kit Kringle last week, didn't see it until I was leaving and I wanted it so badly, so my dad went out and got it for me.:dopey: This is one of the many vehicles I wish I had gotten back when they came out. Now I got it.:)

The one I go to is very organized, they do a great job. 👍 When you walk in you get a ticket from the customer service desk with a number on it, and then they throw all the duplicate tickets into a plastic bin. They call them out 4 at a time and you get 5 minutes to go through a fresh case if your number is called and grab 5 cars.

Once all the fresh cases have been looked through, they continue calling numbers and those people get to go through the leftovers until all the numbers have been called. Then they dump what's left on the tables and it's a free-for-all.

Nice score, a6m5 - damn, I may have to start that dangerous game of shopping online again. You can't find that sort of stuff at stores.

Also - I don't think DW got the compliment about his artsyfartsy photo, heh heh.

Thanks Harry. Yeah, my comment was vague on the wyvern's photo. :dopey:

P.S. If you look online, you can find stuff like the car below:

There she is. Purple Karmann Ghia. :P Next pic contains the red VW Transporter Bus wyvern posted a week or two ago:

Finally, another Caddie Ambulance + the $TH 2000GT:

Harry's right though. Once you get online, you are also looking at this cool car, also that one, oh I've been after that one for awhile! I honestly thought I was done week or so ago, but I'm still after couple more cars...... just like I was then. :dopey:

One I attended was the same way, but wasn't it wyvern who said his event only had three other people or something? That would damnear guarantee a $TH for every attendee!
Two eBay purchases arrived today. I'll take pictures and post them in the other thread.
Only if it's artsy or are diorama display. :P

- I'm stunned at how well AOS-, R1600, DW, and a6m5, 'Goat, Zach . . . among many others, are presenting their stuff - it's always a treat to dip into this thread! :)

👍
speaking of...

I saw.

That's why I took the negative picture. Thought it'd be a nice add to the thread. Had no idea another thread was out there for the expressions of creativity we sometimes have. I shall have a peek. :)

Now then, lets get down to business. Here's a group shot of the new arrivals.

*edit - Charger Daytona looks badass. 👍

Just...WOW! Jealous over the Police Gallardos and...I didn't even know there were actual diecast models of Car Town cars. Do they have any other models for that series? (And yes, I do...or at least, used to play Car Town quite a lot. Addicting trying to collect the cars.)
You snuck on me with your ninja editing job, I missed it!

Like I said, Walmart is starting to carry these 60th Matchbox(for $2.99 vs. TRU's $3.99), so you should start seeing the Gallardos soon. 👍

As for the Car Town cars, you may have seen Firehound's post, but here it is again.:

cartownwebpage.jpg

Edit2: My local TRU sucks. I found Car Town cars, also cool 60th Matchbox cars at the TRU across town. I went to my local TRU today to return those 60th cars, and when I checked what they had, they had complete crap 60th MBX cars, and absolutely no Car Town cars. Also no Boulevards, Hot Ones, etc., etc., goes without saying. Actually, lady who issued my refund did round up my $19.95 to a $20-bill for me. :P

K-Day cars:

Two TH Continentals (could of had a third one, but I let someone else find it)
Regular and $uper TH Riviera.
Flintmobile
K-Mart exclusive colors
Girlfriend and I both got our numbers called. :D

They also had the Smokey, Muppets, A-Team, K.A.R.R.,and American Graffiti Edsel cars, but I figured I'd wait to see what else I'd get at the event and then get those Retro cars. I went back after and they were practically all gone. Damn other collectors. :grumpy:

I feel like the two of us were the most normal people there. All the other two dozen collectors were weird and mean. Some guy horded 15 Nova wagons. Some people.

I feel the same way at mine. Everyone wanted their 20 cars for the Camaro mail-in, I walked out with 4 + the Retro and one of the cars was already hanging on the pegs. (Pikes Peak Tacoma) There's one guy, I think he's the one that sets up the meets on Friday nights, was buying all the Ferrari F12's because he promised 50 of them to a Ferrari dealership in Texas.

I can understand that guy with the Ferraris, but just barely.

There were F12s in the cases? None at mine. The cases were FA, FC, and FJ.
There was only a single Falken Cuda that I'm aware of too.

We got no Cudas. :( I almost bought one last night for $2 but thought "nah, I can get one tomorrow". Wrong!

And yeah, ton of F12's. I think only a couple people got a $uper too.

Jason: My 2000GT's scuffed up a bit on the rear windshield. How does yours look? It was advertised as "mint", so I was thinking about asking for couple dollars off, but maybe it's kinda petty?

I just won one of those Hot Wheels cars I've been on a hunt for awhile. There were no bids, but I fully expected snipers, so I checked in to observe and sure enough, three snipers. Shot them all dead though. Mad skills. :sly:
Well you know what they say, "
Your video led to this:

I especially liked the last one.

Scuffs on the windows is to be expected. After they mold them they get thrown in with a bunch of others so they rub on each other and sometimes that scratches them. :indiff:

Car Town cars look cool, although...there needs to be more than just American cars... Even the Japanese and Europeans are diverse when it comes to diecast and not biased to there own cars. :grumpy:

Would like to order one of those 2000GTs, but the scratches and stuff would drive me nuts. Although plenty of cars in my collections have them. But on something like the 2000GT, it would. If only they had inspection people look over the cars before packaging like my work place. :P
