Hell yes Spacegoat! CMs are awesome. The RX7 is bad-ass, I had never seen it 👍

Also, I want that red Cadillac.

There was one Kung Fu series MR2 Rally on the pegs, I already have one, so I could grab it for you.

Do you want an SLK, the same SLK you just got, but with 5SP wheels?

Or do you want the moolah now that you can take moolah?

Very nice shot, Andy. This, IMO, is Poster Quality.

The shot below, I would think, is one that would be very well received in the Diorama thread; you have a great set-up going there, and probably enjoying the heck out of yourself giving in to your creative expresson. 👍
Notice the change in lighting? Yep. I used my giant lightbulbs. turns out each one only sport 2 LEDs.

2.5s, f/9, ISO 200.

The external light wasn't on during the shoot. I only needed it to take that shot.

Thank you, Harry. You're one of the onry people here who share an interest in taking pictures rather than just posting about toy cars hitting the market.

Sorry if I don't like taking fancy photos of my cars. Don't feel like I need to.

I take pics of my cars purely for documentary and (mainly) showing-off reasons, as I do not find diecast cars, specially of this size and lack of detail, to be worthy subjects of a serious photoshoot. Maybe it's because I work with real cars, with which you can actually do a lot of things with a camera.

Ditto!

I too agree. I only try to take good photos of quality cars with excellent detail or cars I have detailed myself. Other than that, a $1 toy car is not something I see worth the effort to shoot well.

On the photo shooting, I don't see anything wrong with putting in effort to make the pictures look nice. Sure, they are just hot wheel cars, but not just hot wheel cars to us. Poorly detailed one dollar car my ass. Most of us care a bit more about the presentation of these cars than that, at least in here. :D

I get it, we don't strive to make artistic presentation with our pictures, but from Andy's studio quality shotos to Cano's photoshop-cleaned shots to Harry's unique diorama shots, I enjoy all our unique approach to showing off the cars in here.

#@$^&@%&@*@%^#$%$#^@%& Oh, I meant to say that I fancy Lancia Delta a lot, and I guess you could say I might be a bit slightly envious. RX-7 is ridiculous. @$^$&%^%ng ridiculous. Not that I've been following CM's(or CMS or whatever) closely, but I didn't know they made RX-7 either. Does this mean I'm getting the Tomica Limited version for my birthday Uncle Jarrod? :P
The Ferrari in Miami Vice was indeed a Testarossa, not a 512M :odd:.
My bad, actually. I didn't even see the 512M.

I was talking about how Andy seemingly didn't know about the Evora GT4 casting and also how you are usually the one to bring the latest news to us and how that failed that time. I dunno. :indiff:

I hate to make assumptions, but, the flu?
I too have been dealing with it for the past several days.

I promised to share something when I could...My collection still hasn't moved to the new house yet but yesterday the fiancée and I were out shopping and I happened across a cool pair of '70s classics in green. Never tried photography like this before so please bear with my blur:

The Neue Klasse is one of her favorite cars; we already bought one in white a year or two ago, but green is her favorite color so we picked this one up and it can accompany the other one when it moves out here.

The Celica was my choice, I love '60s/'70s Japanese cars. A few years ago I never would have guessed Hot Wheels made anything like that, but there were three or four of these on the display.

I like how you can contrast the gloss/metallic paint between the two:

After seeing the blue 2002, the green one looks a bit...off.
I'll still never get tired of seeing those two cars though. :D

Now, on to the (hopefully pale/light) yellow Celica that will be coming out later this year.

Head cold. Sinuses are all f'd up. Missed work today, will probably miss tomorrow too. :indiff:

I did. I didn't see the car before the card illustration back then. I was given the impression it was going to be a british racing green, but instead we get a metallic finish which ain't no racecar finish so I'm a bit let down. :grumpy:

Also, I was expecting PR5s since those would actually look baller on the Evora. 10SPs just don't work as well, similar to how it doesn't on a Jag XJ220.

I think what is worse is the horrid color of those wheels. I have always hated that color.
What is so hard about making them grey? Why must it be that blue-grey color?
I've had bruises that were a better shade than those wheels.

You know, when you sent those old cars over, I noticed that one hatch with the gray Y5 wheels and I was astounded how much nicer the flat finish looks compared to the standard chrome finish. I wish Mattel made wheels in that finish instead of chrome all the damn time. It pops I'll admit, but they know that some of their designers are appealing to diecast collectors and not kids. If you're going to make it look incredible, at least make the wheels look like alloys rather than aftermarkets.

Great post, Phil! 👍 So much knowledge in there.

Yeah, man, got to open cars . . . procrastination is only leading to a pile up!
Thing is I want to take some pics, too - so I have to set it all up . . . and when it comes to play, I tend to get lazy; all my energy is taken up by some kind of work or another.
Plus I still have to make some pick-ups, before all the new more popular variations disappear off the pegs. I like buying fresh.

Thanks Harry :)👍. I'm kinda behind on my cars myself, I hope they aren't planning to rebel against me. :scared::lol:

I agree. I take pictures of my cars, thinking about doing another photoshoot soon maybe tomorrow or this weekend, especially my larger scales and for keeping my collection in line. But I do like the photos that everyone does and their creativity behind it. 👍

Not a problem Shinji, After watching too much Miami Vice when I was a kid, so I know some of the greatest hero and villain cars from the series like crazy. That is why I spotted the difference between the cars.

Hmmm, I'm not sure I remember which car that may be.

As I was typing that previous post, I too was thinking about how it would be nice if Hot Wheels would do just silver wheels instead of chrome.
Perhaps these new Cool Classics with their great-looking wheels will start a new trend.
If not, then I'll just have to put them on everything instead.

Nice grabs there Spacegoat, jelly of the Carbonator still haven't found one yet:(

J case looks awesome, definately looking forward to those:tup:

Did a run today heres what I got:

A Sharpie's makes applying the silver super easy and quick.
i just don't know if I want to spend an afternoon doing it lol

Now if only I knew how to break down the structure of felt tips so it becomes as loose as a brush. That would let me scribble in ink in the tiniest of crevices beyond the eyes can see.

Got a chance. Here's an upload of recent buys:
