I honestly don't think they're worth anything more than the regular cars. Just a manufacturing oddity, same as cars with different shades of paint depending on their week of production.

Nice work on the display frames Andy. Personally, I think I'd tighten up the spacing between the frames, but that's just me. They do look great. 👍

Well...I'd have to drive 30 minutes to another town to look for these cars. That requires both gasoline and my time, and then there's tax if I do happen to find what you want. I'm not out to grab your money, I just want some kind of... "compensation" if you will since it's not like I myself will be going for any personal benefit.

I can give them a call tomorrow morning to ask if they have it, but I doubt the staff know what exactly a Hot wheels Road Racer is.

Ah yes, that's pretty good in my book. If you're not gonna ask like 25-30 for one car then I'm all for it. I'll tell Ahmed tonite if he'll chime in with half the shipping.

I'd leave a 6" gap beside each one if the foundation allowed it, believe me. I don't have enough faith in drywall to bear 12 pounds of cars. Those screws were fastened to wall studs and unfortunately in this case, that's far apart they are.

Actually, here's a funny story, I wanted to copy the previous dimension of the grid in the older frames - since it would retain consistency, but I thought this whole time each slot was 3"x1".

Turns out it was bigger which would fit a total 84 cars, with one column with a longer length and a row with a taller height for the bigger cars. These new ones hold 96 now...Still wouldn't trust drywall to hold that up. The give-and-take is that I could fit even less cars because the slots were a tad too short for most, but the good part is that this resulted in one column with a larger width meaning I could fit the looooong cars in there with no issues. '64 Lincoln, Custom Fleetwood, TV Batmobile, Custom '59 Cadillac, you name it.




Here's some more recent purchases from a few days ago:

Chrome PR5 variation. It's pretty common I think. The regular is the blue-chrome.

I'm going to start a collection on these bikes, but they going to stay carded.

I totally didn't take the weight of all those cars into account.

I saw that army-looking bike at Toys R Us today. Saw the FR-S for the first time today, too. I didn't see enough cars I wanted though, I put couple of the cars back onto the pegs & walked out with nothing.

Man, for that, I don't know of the brand, but they got those little diecast planes! I think I've mentioned it before, but I love WWII planes myself(just look at the name).

The guy has like 20 each of the new zamacs. I only got 1 of each, totally forgetting I needed 2 of the 240Z's so I could open one for my display.

I like the M2s! 👍 I really should own at least one of them Ground Pounders..... and Andy, I'd leave out the black & gold as well. It just doesn't do it for me. Teal & black is a close second. Other three are fine.

Under the same assumption you don't own any Skyline R32s, what if I told you you had to pay $30 for only 4 of the 5. Which combination do you feel is the best bang for your buck? Which one of the 5 have you noticed is easiest to find online?

I have all of them but the teal one because it sucks.

I'd simply laugh at paying $30 for those. They're worth a buck at most, maybe $4 for the TH. Not more under any ANY circumstances.

Here's something to watch out for.

In a Kyosho boxset, I have mentioned that there is one chase car, but that is present in like 1 out of 5 boxsets.

However, chances are, that one of the boxsets also contain a duplicate of one of the models. And that's the scenario when I tried my luck once again buying one of the cars in the GT-R set.

Ah but can you still find it for such prices anymore? I know they were mainlines at one point, but that statement is like saying $10 for a Road Racers is a bad price even though they retailed at $5.




edit: Figured they wouldn't have any. The Dollar Trees here don't carry the Road Racers.

There's no Zamac Pagani, it was just a silver recolor which I haven't seen yet. I think he had R34's, will have to check again next week. He also had a couple more FR-S's but I skipped over them. No GT2's, but I do still have that other one I bought.

The Web Trader car is easier to come buy and not the best paint scheme in my opinion. The others are fine.

We've been thru this. It's great that Cano, or that king of used cars, Wyvern can find cars for nothing. It really is great, and I am truly happy for them. But for well connected collectors to expect some of us to find old hot wheels for original MSRP's just not realistic.
