1/64 Model Collectors Thread

First Release. You know how some castings get multiple releases with same series name - in new colours or wheel variations? I put that in to help me remember which one came out first, especially any series name that don't indicate it being new such as 2010 All Stars or anything 2013.

I did write a small note at the bottom of each page indicating what "FR" stood for... like any responsible web page designer should do with uncommon jargon. You'd know right away if you browsed the actual page but your work computer sucks for blocking blogger.

Ah, I see. I'd put "First Release" in the pic in a small font instead, because yeah, people won't know wtf is that, and come on, scrolling all the way to the bottom of the page to find out? Provide me the info rather than making me look for it.

And yeah, my work's computers suck. Incredibly, I can edit blogger from here -in fact Ahmed and I will soon release our customs blog, and a large chunk of what I've done for it was done from here- but I can't see Blogspot pages -_-

I'm not going to put that note everywhere, because that's excessive clutter of side notes. "FR" is understandable once you know what it is. It's like tiny icons you find on shopping websites.

Haven't you been on more professional websites where they put all those "*" and superscript digits in tiny font and put all the fine print at the bottom? The print is there so I'm not hiding info, but at the same time, I'm not forcing viewers to look at it.


edit: Scratch all that. If I write "First Release" in tinier font instead. I can clear off one line at the bottom. 💡

Went to 4 Wal-Marts today, 3 Targets and a TRU. Not a single Cool Classic, TH to be found. The Targets had all done the resets and had pegs for them but just shoved those Hot Ones leftovers on them

Wasn't a complete failure though, picked up the newest 3 Zamacs at one Wal-Mart, and the Magnum PI Retros at another. Also noticed that Targets are now carrying Pop Culture, so that's cool. More opportunities to grab those.

Oh and my TRU had the next-to-last Boulevard batch (Ford GT, Brat, Belvedere, etc) which is the first place within 100 miles to get a 2013 case of Boulevard cars. So if you're looking for those maybe check there.

The article says Tuesday for RLC, Wednesday for HWC. Which I assume is right considering that's the normal schedule.

You the man Phil. Yeah, I quit collecting awhile back, but the growth rate I think has actually sped up.

Which Zamacs did you find, Dwight? I'm sorry to hear about your hunt, but I went to two Walmart tonight(they are like 5 minutes apart ) and found nothing. I really wanted the 240Z, but I knew that was a long shot. I'll take pics of what I got tonight & post 'em in little bit.

Andy: Love the Mercedes. I've been wanting to the Kyosho one, but they want $20 or something for it on eBay, and I always have like ten other cars that takes priority.

Finally found bump around & Summit Camaro(no, no door handle or lines).




Found another Shelby Collections! This one looks similar to Eleanor from the Gone in 60 Seconds. Awesome car.

Funny you should say that, because a couple of years back a shop in the UK called Home Bargains got the Kyosho Ferrari collection in store... for 99p! I raided the shelves, and to make sure I didn't get any dupes I went online to get the barcode of each one, worked a treat
