Now I can put the money I saved towards buying an iPad. (Since I need an iPad to make it work.)
Somewhere, somehow, I think I lost some money instead of saving any.
👍
Really? I saw 5 or 6 Jetson cars the other day. Hopefully I'll have the same luck with the Herbie mainline when it appears down here.
Guess what I find today.

Found it at Rite Aid(drug store) of all places, but I picked up just one. It's $1.79 there. Swung by the Dollar Tree(everything's a dollar), they still had A100 & Seagrave( again). I picked up a Jeep & Thing for my nephews.

Also got the free car from the Red Line Club:

It's a car I planned on eventually getting, so very happy with this bonus from the RLC.

What is their background? I remember that name coming up every now & then. Are they just simple eBay seller, or do they have a blog, online shop????

Edit: Looks like they are not remotely close to cheap, but other than this one, I didn't see much out of line.

I don't trust anyone that sells anything on Ebay, things get way to outrageous in price.

Lamley promotes their offerings, they have some sort of connection. If that was posted by an individual seller, fine. Just laugh and move on. But they are an official eBay store and I think taking advantage of people when you are running a business is a lot different than some Joe blow trying to make a buck.

Well, I doubt eBay stores are anything like proper retailers though. I see them as more of high-volume version of individual sellers(like us), even if some of them actually make living on eBay.

Come to think of it, I must've bought from them before, because I remember seeing email from them before. I clicked on the link & remember getting the sticker shock.

I searched seller name in my email box & here it is.

This was an addition to my collection of Bone Shakers - I saved $3.00 by getting it at half price:

Could save even more had you got it from Dollarama. They're like $2 or $2.50. I have a Yur So Fast and the game on the iPad is so rubbish because it doesn't properly accomodate for all magnet arrangements. Each car has a different arrangement of magnets so that the iPad can tell you've placed a car there and not our two fingers.

I believe I did get it from Dollarama, Andy - it was $2.00.

As a book is only as good as its reader, I believe, too, that it was a6m5 that truly 'got' that post.

Hmmm......... How do you respond to either of these posts?

The Tao of Ignore?

Nice. I just didn't see the big $2 price tag.

Actually, I was lying, Andy - or mistaken anyway - I went back and checked and it was from Walmart (Clearance)

I didn't really buy it for iPad use, though, crikey - I have enough video-games that give me that fix. That's partly why I collect - I might stand for a moment looking at my displays, and think, wow, that car looks so hunky - I'll take the car down and fiddle with it - looking at the curves, the lights, the rear and so on - and then I'll get the urge to drive it.
Off to the console, and pick a game that has that particular car.

@ Kakashi - would be nice to see the baseplates on some of your cars.

Satin, Matte, same thing.

As lazy as you want to be, it's actually not!

The one people label as satin has a bit more shimmer than a matte finish.

As an example, the Falcon has metalflakes present. The first two Gallardos (the white or black) were completely flat.

[/more you know]

Naming-wise, I would believe so... well that's how most people describe it if they were to categorize it (based on STD).

Examples:

"Matte" finish:
Lambo+Gallardo+(FE).jpg

"Satin" finish:
Lambo+Reventon+Roadster+(FE).jpg

That bottom one, to me, looks metallic. I also was under the impression(I'm no expert) that satin & matte were 'flat' paint job.

They are for the most part. Most satin paints look like they sit between a flat (lack of gloss) and a metallic finish (highlights show up in a peculiar way in the light). It's just that it looks flatter than other colours when it's grey.

I don't think anything being "metallic" has anything to do with it. You basically have 3 options:

1) Gloss (shiny, clear coat finish)
2) Satin (semi-shiny, middle ground)
3) Matte (no gloss, no clear or similar matte style clear)

I find the Matte Gray finish to be similar to the Gallardo pictured.

Contradictions.

Andy is right. Please don't let me post graphics.
