Well they have something in common....they are not full glossy.

Post graphics, I don't care. I'm finished arguing over stupid things.

To be fair to R1600, we have to remember that mat, matte, and flat get confused sometimes - they all mean the same thing, but some companies hire ad agencies that use copywriters who take liberties with the terms when labeling products.
Most paint companies (and I've actually worked in a few too many,) classify their sheens generally from super flat, to ultra hi-gloss, with flat, satin, eggshell, semigloss, and gloss in between. I believe we had this identical discussion in the customising thread.
However - these are all labels, and not scientific names for the sheens.
The label actually stands for a degree of angular sheen - the higher the degree of angular sheen, the shinier the look. Because the degrees span a window for each level, even two flats can be different from each other, one 'shinier' than the other.
If any one here, other than those arguing with themselves, is really interested in the subject read up a little bit here:

http://www.paintinfo.com/mpi/approved/sheen.shtml

And you will see that even companies can't agree on the labels.

I wouldn't have dismissed something so easily in the first place if you had intentions to correcting your first statement though.

Again, satin grey is an odd one in the satin finish family of Hot Wheels paints. Satin finishes capture a sharper degree of highlights more intense than a matte finish. This is because of the metal specks in the paint. Mattes aim to diffuse reflected light as much as possible.

Not trying to make you feel dumb, I'm merely laying down information.

Opened more cars today. Thought about the RLC Texas Drive 'Em, but checked eBay first(now $120), and chickened out of that idea. I did open one VIP car from my collection though:

Let's start with couple of Boulevards I really like.

Hot Wheels Boulevard Copper Stopper

Boulevard '70 Ford Torino

Couple of RLC cars. Mustang was way better than I thought it was (already)going to be. Camaro, which I adored was just 'meh'.

Red Line Club '85 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z

RLC Custom Mustang

Aaaand the big dawg.

Vintage Racing John Morton's BRE Datsun Bluebird 510

Yesterday was a good day for me, I got myself a new Hot Wheels car. And believe me, I didn't expect to pick up a C7 Corvette Stingray!

In the perfect world, we could just go to a store & pick that up for four bucks!

My favorite were the two Fords. Paint job on them are epic. 👍

Nice pics, I opened my Boulevard Torino awhile back, I really dig it. I don't think I've seen pics of that custom mustang before either, so thanks for those. Pretty slick. I like the Datsun too, after seeing the recent prototype pics of the Neos version on HWC forum, I'm glad I grabbed it, it looks great.

-The Beginning-

My haul for this week. Mainlines were from Thursday night .60 cents. Wasn't even planning on buying any until I saw the two treasure hunts near the top of the bin. The HWC cars are reward cars.

Good Afternoon collectors
Welcome to the forum. Enjoy your stay....... if you actually bother to stay!

:P
@a6m5: The post was so great until you said "The End".
You are right, Ando. It's been a series(JL's are up next), so it should've said 'to be continued'....... just coming off the paint discussion, you are on a winning streak! lol

You win man.👍

Love the bonus cars. Of course, I'm partial to Baja Bruiser(also the 442 I just received), but it must be awesome to get one for free! *edit - I forgot to comment on the white 'Mad Manga'. I am DEFINITELY getting one!

I saw it for the first time on eBay recommendation page, there was one sitting on TTP for $12(shipped), grabbed it that night. It is sweet, cool, unique & all that. I hope you find one soon.

I missed out on the Datsun Bluebird on RLC due to website glitch, which I've since learned to get around. I plan on eBaying the cars that came up after that, roll the funds over to pick up the Bluebird. :D

Oh, it better be two of each now! j/k
God, yes.

I'm glad you opened it, mine's staying in it's plastic prison, forever.
You know, I figured I won't be able to sell it anyway, as it is one of my absolute favorite hot wheels. Also, as long as you are not in a hurry, people still get money out of them, even if the car is loose. Funny how same argument didn't win out on the Texas Drive em. lol

Some castings are disappointing when you open them(RLC Camaro IROC-Z), some are even more amazing than you imagined(RLC Blown Delivery). Vintage Racing Datsun was strangely neutral. It is as cool as you knew it was going to be, but no more, no less. I guess that's cool since the expectation was pretty high.

$1 each because these multipacks are not cheap.

I've never understood why they are more expensive than buying 9 cars individually.

Nothing, it's filled in. It's only a 9 pack, I guess they used to do 10 packs? Not sure. I kept the Cayman, Civic and the Falcon Race Car so now I have 3 cars left that nobody will want.

Guess they didn't want to spend the extra bit of money to make a new mold as that spot is occupied for 10-packs sold in Canada.

Missing spot is funny. Multi-packs(even 3-packs) costing more than when you can just cherry pick exact cars & quantity you want is odd. Sole advantage's the exclusive car? Also, do I remember correctly how 3-pack cost $4, 9-pack's $10, but 5-pack is $5? That seem to be how much I generally see those for?

I would've said multi-packs are more expensive to nab your money if you're not a collector and buying a gift for someone. It's not tailored to collectors. We've discussed this in the past before though.
