@Apok, I would definitely go for another one. I went about 2 weeks without Hot Wheels at most as far as I remember. This addiction sucks. It's almost as bad as obese people lining up for fast food knowing they shouldn't.

Man, if only I knew about this Maisto Tailwinds thing sooner.... The selection is SO MUCH BETTER THAN SKY BUSTERS 🤬 !!!

Three of my finds today. A Lotus Elise and Exige, and a Caddilac LMP. View attachment 84412 View attachment 84413 View attachment 84414 My other two Caddilac LMPs.View attachment 84415 View attachment 84417

How many Caddy LMPs do you have?
Do you have a group shot?

The Speed Wheels version looks great. 👍 Nice presentation, too, when you are displaying loose. If you take the time to go back and read up on the thread (maybe ten -twenty pages a day) you'll find some awesome photos in here (there's a few Caddy LMPs ;) hidden away there, too.

I remember you asking some time ago, about the track I use for loose car shots, - guess you were into your diorama project at the time. :)

I don't know what this means. I was at the stand of pegs, found a $TH '87 Toyota Truck and an error (front axle missing). The truck had the same appearance as the Hot Ones.

Then I woke up.
:grumpy:

Don't worry, you're not the only one. I've dreamt of finding tons of early-90s blue cards in a forgotten store where I for some reason was buying soap.

Guys, I need some help. While I was looking for a Holden Ute to do a wheel swap on, I found a Majorette Bank Security casting. I have no pictures of my own to show, so I'll try to be as specific as possible in describing it below.

The casting is out of the package.
No. 204.
ECH 1/57.
White paint with red and blue tampos on the sides and hood.
Black interior.
Untinted windows.
Black rear door that lifts up into the cargo area.
Spoke design on the wheels is chrome.
Unpainted base.
Black front bumper guard.
Front bumper guard is bent inward.
Some chipped areas in the paint.

Can anyone tell me more about this casting? Is there a website out there for Majorette values? I looked on eBay and found an average price for the matching casting being $10 (USD). I'll try to find a picture of the casting per an image search so you know exactly which Bank Security casting I'm talking about.

EDIT: I have found pictures!

I know nothing, but cool truck!
I may change the background the next time for a lark, just to keep you happy. ;) Watch for new cars.
Right on. Keep up the good work!👍
Edit: Looks like I was late to the party on this. Poo. :grumpy:
Nice find. I'm happy with my Tamiya, but that does look nicer.....

I know I had a dream about finding something on pegs before, too. We are obsessed!

After reassessing my options, I've eliminated 5 planes from the initial 12 and am almost done deciding on the replacement candidates.

However, I'm stuck in a dilemma between two planes. Both planes look similar in shape, and the colour variety doesn't change amongst the (soon-to-be) twelve aircrafts if I choose either or.

The current roster at this time (colour-coded) is:
A WWI Biplane
F/A-18 Super Hornet
F-117 Nighthawk
Sukhoi Su-47
A Dive Bomber
F4U Corsair
Mitsubishi A6M Zero (IN WHITE)
P-38 Lightning
MiG-15

DH.98 Mosquito
F35 Lightning II

I'm now picking between a F-14 Tomcat or a Panavia Tornado in camo, both of which will be the 3rd multi-role fighter modern-style aircraft in the cast. The decision has never been this tough! I might have to compose another photo to get a sense of it all before I jump on anything.

Would have been a nice companion piece to your Tamiya. 👍 Also, why wasn't I aware that Tomica made this? It's only one of my favourite Japanese cars ever. Do want.

Edit: Your new avatar and Dr Nessy's name change threw me at first. I was like, who are these guys?

Guys, I need some help.

When you described the car, you let out the most important part of ANY Majorette. Does it say "made in France" in the base of the car? If it doesn't, it isn't worth a damn. If it is, it's worth like $5 (and that's if it's mint) at most because it is one of the more common Majorettes, even if made in France.

Go check that and tell me what shape it's in, and I'll tell you.

Easy...The Panavia Tornado!

A friend on Facebook said to go for the flat grey Tomcat (3rd column 3rd row). Composing my arrangement, this is what I've come up with.

So it's that Tomcat or this Tornado (1st column 3rd row):

Tomcat looks great as there is no other flat grey plane on board, but at the same time, the highly-visible armaments on the Tornado really spice up the diagonal lines of the composition. THEM DECISIONS! :banghead:

You know what sold me between the 2.....the colors. I'm a fan of that style of camo so I have a P51 tattooed on my arm that's got same style with gray/blue/green

Shrink your photos if you can in the future, @carfanatic4. We can do without super large resolutions in here. It will also help reduce loading time. Thanks.

I'm doing them off my iphone. Makes it easier, and quicker to upload. I'll see if i can find time to do them off the computer next time. If not i'll post in smaller quantities.

You asked for more info, and I'll gladly give it to you. Yes, the base does say, "MADE IN FRANCE." The condition my casting is in is one, maybe two steps below mint. And again, it is loose.

Official pictures of the Sesto Elemento as well.

I must say...the Elemento feels a tad disappointing in white and green. As well as the wheels.

I have to agree, I think that Elemento casting is done quite well, but the wheels on this one are just

Some grabs from last week, couple more Herbie's, Mystery Machine and grabbed the 5-pack for the GMC Pickup

Nice stuff, I'll have to keep an eye out for that GMC pickup, that looks cool.

These beauties came in the mail today. :)

Also very nice, I really really like the rx-7 in that red.

This Blown Delivery didn't do it for me at the time. Now that I opened one(blue, 2011 selections), I find this one very cool. Also love that 'Racing' Silverado. One of the cars I'd like to add to my collection eventually. 👍

This describes a large majority of cars for me. The computer target renders or whatever just look "ehhhh" but once I see pics of someone's model in person, it's so much better.

Mattel charged my card today for the Gulf GT40.

I went and looked and mine was charged too. Porsche should be very soon too, can't wait.

Change of pace(for me):

I'm now picking between a F-14 Tomcat or a Panavia Tornado in camo
I've admired both as a kid(they are both from my childhood-era), I don't know about camo(would work on Tornado), but to me this is a no-brainer: F-14 Tomcat PWNS.
Also, why wasn't I aware that Tomica made this? It's only one of my favourite Japanese cars ever. Do want.
It's brand spanking new(I've been watching), and you are frigging awesome. 👍👍 While I didn't even know this car existed until I was living in the U.S., I agree the car is awesome, and you even picked the right color!(I like white or orange w/black hood on this car).
Edit: Your new avatar and Dr Nessy's name change threw me at first. I was like, who are these guys?
I didn't even catch the Dr. Nessy name change. As for my avatar, it's dedicated to the two USAF B-52s that saved the day for the Japanese this week. I went from Obama/Kerry/Hagel hater to a fan. :embarrassed:

*goes to check* Hey, it does say $25.93 charge by Mattel....... I just don't know if that's for the Gulf GT40 or the Porsche. It covers just one of those two orders, that's for sure.... thanks for the heads up though!

On the Blown Delivery, I think that huge "Hot Wheels" logo, I just wasn't quite sold on it. It sure grew on me though. 👍
After a couple of you liked the Nissan shed I shared here is Ford's shed in England.

Awesome pics, but I especially loved the shot of the dirty mess of parts bins.

Digging that VW van, nice.

I agree the car is awesome, and you even picked the right color!(I like white or orange w/black hood on this car).

Much prefer the combo of orange w/black hood myself. 👍

Oh, a confirmation of purchase e-mail for the from Daboxtoys for that and something else, may have accidently appeared in my inbox yesterday. :whistles:

And these arrived a lot quicker than I expected. :D

What? What!?

That Celica, I think mine has headlights popped open? Are there two versions with lights up or down?

Lancer..... oh, man the Lancer. It's been on my radar for awhile, but I've yet to connect. Is it my early Christmas present? Either way, well done.

👍
@a6m5 Check the order number goof! :P

It's definitely the GT40. Says the Porsche is ready for 12/3 so expect to see it next week.
What order number goof? What happened?

My GT40 did say 11/24 or 27 initially, then it was moved to 12/3. I think Porsche was pushed back to 12/3 much earlier on. I do think you are right, GT40 should ship first.

Magic: Here's what my Celica looks like:

Edit: I just realized that name on the base is different + they have different numbers on the front bumper cover.
Did you get an email? You can also check your order status on HWC.com.
No email, checked the site when you first mentioned it & they both still say "processing".

On the site, click on the order number to open the order page and get the actual status. The Porsche shows processing for me too, but when I click on the order number the page still says Backorder until 12/3.

Oh, yeah, they all say that. I think I have five separate orders pending with them, ranging from 12/3 to January-something. They all say processing "In Progress" with the exception of actually completed orders. And yes, when I do click on the order numbers, they have the B/O date.

I'll go check it out now.

Edit: OK, you are right. Porsche still have the backorder release date, but GT40 says "In Progress" instead. I'm guessing that they are shipping the cars next working day. 👍
