I feel sorry for you guys with RLC memberships. The way Mattel is conducting itself with the backordered RLC cars is embarrassing. This is one of two reasons I won't sign up for membership there, the other is the fact that japanese castings make up like less than 1% of the RLC cars released so far. (umm, BRE 510 and.....that's it.)

Yeahhhhhh I got those emails today. I can't even. There's not enough facepalms in the world.

From the day I placed half my orders to the day I get them, a child could be conceived...and delivered. I mean wtf.

Needless to say I don't plan on renewing my membership. This was my first year, but if that's how they want to treat customers, it's my last year too. I would be a little more forgiving if they were open to what is taking so long, why they are backordered, etc. but I doubt that ever happens.

Shame too, as there was several castings this year I was only able to get because of being RLC. Well, I say get....I haven't gotten half of them yet!

I said this a few months ago, but I'll say it again: I would really rather they took a year off and got everything delivered AND made upcoming product so that they can ship it as soon as it's for sale. Because by the time 2013 cars finish arriving it will be April, maybe May 2014. So of course 2014 cars will start off on the wrong foot, backordered until who knows when.

Of course I say all this but at some point during the year I'll see something I like and probably pony up the money. Must...resist.....

That doesn't work, Dwight. We know this.
Pics of the cars acquired so far in january have been shot. Amazingly, it's been around 60 cars in january alone. Yes it's full 7 days. Will be posted today or tomorrow or something.
You rarely post anything anymore!

Gulf Drag Bus...... April 8th.
'68 Mercury Cougar is in the 2014 roster, but there's a catch. Like the '70 Chevelle, it's got its foundations redone.

Received the RM job. Pretty cool!
I knew I saw that yesterday. About $9 with shipping, 28 sold. God bless them.

Been a while since I made an update... Things are going downhill and there's a very high possibility of my parents kicking me out of the house. I haven't been able to find a job...so I'll probably have to start selling cars off...

203 days from order to shipping. IF it ships then. :banghead:

That's impossible with no job! Apply, apply, apply, and work on your interview game. Best of luck, man!

It's not great here in Maine... Second year in college and my past jobs have been with a restaurant and manufacturing.

If that was my store, they would be about half that price. If that. I would make up for the cheaper prices by selling more.
Sounds like you've contemplated opening your own storefront maybe? :D

Can school move to nights? Schooling also sounds tough though, considering. Maybe time to get in good graces of your parents?
Retail! Always jobs in retail. They won't pay well, but it's a job.
True dat.

I just received a email from TTP Admin that I needed to attend to an unpaid M2 ZAMAC Firebird, which I posted in the previous page. I wonder what that's about.
Have wanted to for years. No money.
I guess you could emulate the eBay seller style, but I do wonder if there is any actual profit in the business?

There is, but the profit gain for the amount of work you have to do to get stuff that people actually want is not worth it IMO. I could have an easier full-time working in retail and still make more money than eBay sellers. On the side, fine, but not primary income though.

so I'll probably have to start selling cars off...

I was just wondering how you even had the money to afford your car without a job.

BTW @R1600Turbo, What are you planning to put in your home page? Your database so far doesn't seem to need one. And going by my knowledge of webpages, you can't go without one. Perhaps you can turn the home page into an index page and do without the tabs so that it doesn't remain blank.

There are sellers who actually make good living off eBay, but achieving meaty profit margin's probably easier said than done. Especially on a consistent basis.

I think it would've been cool to do something like a blog. Your home page will naturally show your latest posts like your own news feed. Like for example, you could blog about your best new finds, share stories related to the hobby and what not. The database can still remain. That's what I'm doing with my page so it's more than just a book.

Like I said, you have to be selling what people want. Don't sell by quantity, because you're bound to be stuck with a lot of crap products no one wants. All those sellers who've got 100s- maybe 1000s of dinky mainlines still list them individually for 99 cents. Those are never going to sell for 99 cents, they might if they were 25 cents, but you'd lose profit. But then again, would you take 25 cents and lose profit or not get any money at all? It's a lose-lose scenario.

I know what you mean, I was just talking about eBay sellers in general, not hot wheel sellers.

I don't do blogs. :P

2009 Convention Ticket Car. Price floats around $70. I got no discount but I got free shipping at the least. It's one of those where the card matters more than the car. To me anyway.

Ah, my bad. I misunderstood. I didn't even realize the "AOS" background in the picture. It is an awesome purchase, but don't let Cano catch you with it!

Not good to hear about the situation with you parents, good luck with it. Good luck on the job front aswell.

Oi dude that really sucks. Would you prefer that instead of trading, I buy the cars you have for me? If it's of any help, let me know.

@a6m5, I'm over Cobras when I've collected them all minus the really high-end ones.

MADE IN MEXICO CLASSIC COBRA, FOOL.

A mint one with the yellow stripes sold recently in the 200 bucks realm.
