Here are my finds today from Toys R Us/Target. There was a medium sized box full of new models, most where fictional, but I grabbed the few I liked.

2014 Hot Wheels Special Ed. Camaro ZL1 image.jpg Mazda RX-7image.jpgSRT Viper image.jpg1970 Toyota Celica image.jpg Toyota AE86 Corollaimage.jpgFormul8r (looked a bit like a Delta Wing IMO) image.jpg image.jpg Carroll Shelby Ed Cobra 427 A/C and 1967 GT500. These are extremely detailed for their size. image.jpg image.jpg

Great grabs lately everyone! And Andy, I love the thumbnails on your gallery.

Also, about exhibiting them. I am serioulsy thinking about toning down the purchase of cars this year (less quantity, more quality, think Kyosho/Aoshima/M2 and the such) and investing a in display furniture. I really need to show off these things and in a clean fashion too. I've been thinking lately too that there's not much point in collecting all these rare things if I cannot show them off.

Couple of Johnny Lightning 280Z..... badly in need of wheel-swap.

Switching around not only the "selection" to the collection, but also your approach is a exciting thing. I hope you pull it off. đź‘Ť
@a6m5: The JL came from TRU, the Wheldon from Ollie's.
Nice. Never heard of Ollies, but Toys R Us do often come through with cars I can't find anywhere else locally, like those Shelby Collectibles that carfanatic just posted above our posts. đź‘Ť

Kind of like the wall displays I posted last week?

No, I've never liked fully-transparent display shelves, I'm thinking more of wood or white shelves with space for two cars and maaaaybe mirror backing, with glass doors. I don't want full-profile displying, more like 3/4 front.

Went to grab something to eat, stopped by Walgreens on the way and they had a grand total of 4 cars on the pegs. One was a red Celica so I grabbed that, another was a treasure hunt Speed Box, which I left behind, and the others were not important. :P

Similar experience here. Went by Walmart to grab groceries and grabbed two, the new red Celica and a (non super) mustang mach 1. That Speedbox was there I think.

Also saw the new color changes (no VW bus). Picked up the mustang to get, but it scanned 3.97 so it went back to the shelf. 4 bucks lol no thanks.

Photography is absolutely top notch. đź‘Ť

It's still the same photos from before. hur hur hur

Square grids are always visually pleasant. (nods head)
I've been thinking lately too that there's not much point in collecting all these rare things if I cannot show them off.

Excellent! Someone else has been enlightened!!!

Also, may I make the suggestion that a tilted display is a lot pleasing to the eyes with profile views because this way we can see the top side of the car and more of the interior. Higher-end scale models of larger sizes do this. Tomica Limited does it too I think.

I've thougth about a tilted display with stops in the rear tires. It would take loads of work to do it, but it would be pretty cool. I dunno. I still have to throw around ideas for it and then discuss the thing with my friend, who is pretty good at working with wood and has a pretty good setup in his back patio for it.

I never seem to get tired of the Mooos.

I finally got around to opening few more cars:

Hot Wheels Birthday(?) 1965 Chevy Corvette

Hot Wheels Retro Entertainment Smokey and the Bandit '77 Pontiac Firebird + Beverly Hills Cop '68 Chevy Nova

Johnny Lightning Jeep Cherokee + 1971 Chevy Camaro Z28 + 1977 Dodge Monaco Police Car

Also planned on opening the Ottawa Plymouth Fury police car, but I chickened out considering the rising value. Saved the best for last though:

Johnny Lightning Demolition Derby 1973 Caprice Wagon

Oldsmobile 442.
Nice, but needs more pic of it!

That's just strange.

I own hundreds of Hotwheels/Matchbox cars. I've collected them since I was a toddler. I always have to pick 'one' up each time I visit the store. I put one in apostrophes, because I usually come back down the road with quite a few. :D

Well, here's a picture of some of my cars on the shelf. I've got a lot more, though. I'll upload more pictures later on.

50 blister card protectos arrived.... and I've already used them all up. I've even had to pull out the Mooneyes Ground FX and TH Mazda RX-7. Didn't realize I had that many cards to protect. I may have to take the Boulevards out to make space, especially when the Bat Pod arrives because that's going to my sister.

I've seen that dark red Hot Wheels Edition Camaro a few times, and I actually have that AE86 in that color, as well as another AE86 in a black and white paintjob (I call it the "Panda") that seems Initial D inspired. Keep an eye out!

Ya, I have the Initial D inspired version, I like that one over the silver one I got.

ÂŁ4 for mr. Finger-Waggers RB9 in 1:64 scale.

Nice quality, some of the printing seems a little off but overall a nice model with very good detail- can also get Aussie Grit's one if you're a Fingerphobe

Image upside down.
