Just had my last BMW R1200 Bike come in. Been sitting on this and that pale green E-type for a while!

Also I have the urge to start collecting Monopostos and possibly that new 4WD racer thing. Running low on space in the totes too. Conflicting motives here.

I spent a few hours in the last two days moving stuff around in the totes to see how I can free up more room and was glad to know the blacklisted stuff only filled up half a tote, meaning I had another 1.5 totes of space for the stuff I'm still collecting.

Room for the larger vehicles is almost filled up and I'm nowhere near completion on those guys.

There'd be more room once I tear out the grid on two old foam trays, but that's still temporary. I'm going to need to take out the two 1:18s, but those aren't coming out until I've finished modding those.

That Konami thingie is really good. I also want to check out Konami models. I'll have to shop around a bit, but I won't be buying new stuff for a while, since I spent quite a lot of money on the cars I bought this past weekend.

Konami 1:64s have plenty of classic and 90s Japanese sports cars. They provide a great alternative to TLVs.

I also saw an Isuzu Bellett 1600 GT-R of the same brand and scale, and a Toyota Sports 800. Both cost around 10 USD each in that store.

No one's buying my stuff, these two are back in the collection:

And here's the latest addition to the collection:

I really like those. I have a red R8 from a more recent line.

Andy's photography makes me want to go out & buy mainlines.....(could be your future right there...) then I realize how I don't like mainlines, but damn, you do make them look so nice.
It could've been an error but it was sold to me loose. Even if it really was, it has no value as an error anymore.
Is that why nobody's bidding on my VW Drag Bus error w/missing roll cage? I had to try.

P.S. I have another "Global Shipping" transaction pending, this time to Australia. Nice thing about shipping there, I guess there is no duty under $1,000. Shipping was still high, but at least no tax, which I'm sure would entice potential buyers! 👍
My reason (out of three others) for collecting Hot Wheels: Its cheaper than collecting the bigger scale diecasts.
I'm gonna reply to your post in here, so as not to antagonize the "scale model" fans in the other thread.

Hell, yes. I do like how much cheaper hot wheels are, but as some of you may know, I don't display model cars. Hot Wheels hobby do work nicely for me, and they also don't take up a whole lot of room, which is another plus. That said, if I was into displaying toy cars, I would go with 1/18, or larger scale. I do like them a lot, just not enough to "collect" them.

Perfectly okay. Time to delete/modify a post.

I see HWs as a collector and customizer, and will shift to an investor. My other reasons: less space used, most of the HWs I have I will likely never have their real life counterparts, and the HWs can be sold to earn some quick money.

I don't really ponder about it, but sometimes do crosses my mind if any of the nicer cars I buy will pay off as an investment. Basketball cards, I used to buy them because I liked them. I recently sold most of them off, as I had zero interest in them anymore, they paid off big time. I think they sold for easily triple what I paid, with the largest payoff off the top of my head, a card I paid $80 something going for $700+. It sure would be nice if some of these cars we collect today payoff like that. Texas Drive 'Em by Red Line Club & Datsun Bluebird from Vintage Racing are displaying similar surge in value....... don't ever stop! :D
I've found it, guys. I've found the very first release of the E-Type Coupes on the web:

SIGH.
Come again, how much?

Super T-Hunts, after looking around on the web at price guides designed for investors (based on secondary market selling prices) from 2012-2013 (haven't checked 2014 Supers yet), go for about an average of $25 (USD).

I also collect sports cards, and those will be sold, but I don't plan on investing. Yet.

It's not really worth close to the asking price though, is it?

As for the cars I buy, I almost never buy one solely as an investment, though there may be exceptions.

Lucky me! Found not only a Stars of Cars E-Type, but the same seller had a Stars of Cars SL55! Score!

Stars of Cars are Matchbox mainlines released only in Europe (to the best of my knowledge) so this is quite the find.

Don't know at all. I'm guessing not, but conventions are always sold for a lot. Like that other dinner '59 Impala I was tempted to grab for half that price.

Speaking of investment, that FAO Schwarz Viper was bought intentionally as an investment. Hope people will suddenly want FAO Hot Wheels really badly some day.

Well, good luck to you, as you may still 'win' the autographed version. ;) Supposedly they were thrown in randomly, so it ain't over for you yet! I got screwed with their log-in glitch that very morning(since then solved), so it's been game over for me, for quite some time! :P

Got my two BRE Datsun's today. No autographs (I'm not THAT lucky). #102 and #118. They look really great in person.

Ugh, hate when you have a car on eBay you expect to bring some good money, 15 people watching the auction helps with that feeling, then 1 person comes in at opening bid with 10 minutes to go.....and it sells for that. :yuck: Where the 🤬 were the other 14 people?

I ordered a red line club car tonight(from TTP), on a hunt for another. I have been in a RLC junkie phase, lately. :embarrassed:

I looked on eBay to see if there were any completed transaction for the Jag, but there were none. I guess they indeed are pretty rare.

And monkey will fly out of butt.

Well.... still, odds were better than lottery. 102 & 118's very low, and oh so close, but you still gotta a killer deal on a highly coveted car! 👍

That sucks mang. You really had that many people watching & just one bid?

My starting bids are generally the lowest acceptable price for me. I'm used to very few(a handful), sometimes zero watchers, then close with very few bids, I think most of the time with just one. Since the starting bid was acceptable sell price for me(even the eBay 10% fee is calculated in), I'm happy. Multiple bids, I'm super happy. Downside is, you do get used to the practice of relisting a lot, but I don't mind.

What do you do to enable that kind of search?
Search first, then from the lower left select either "sold" or "completed" listings. I routinely use the "sold" search to get the real world pricing(for those of us not named Cano or Wyvern).

I see.

Speaking of, I noticed it a few days ago, but that diabolicwyvern completely disappeared from this thread for ages. Wonder where he's at.

Also, that Dinner Car Jag - according to the seller in his listing - has had only 200 units produced. Not even a 4-digit amount.

Just one. Sucks. I listed for what I thought was reasonable, but with 15 watchers I expected it to jump to at least a few dollars higher.

Edit: Anyone need a 10-spoke HW Racing 24/Seven? Might be a little dinged up, but for $5 or best offer...

I want those as much as I want those FAO cars. OK, maybe little bit more, but not by much. :P

P.S. Wyvern disappearance's routine, no?

I don't blame you. That is a lot of watchers.

Watchers aren't guaranteed buyers. I watch items so I can refer back to it in the future if need be. Just today, the Stars of Cars Jaguar had like 9 watchers, it was a buy-it-now listing and I snagged it right from their noses without a second thought. All it means is that they're indecisive and today wasn't their lucky day!. :P

As the other primary 24/Seven collector, I'd be the one to keep in touch with, but alas I have one. The seller "millerbrat" probably still has a few. If you can find his listing with the OH5 wheels, contact him about it. He sells unpopular mainlines for $1 and he didn't bother listing the 10SP separately. I ended up getting both versions from him because I partially screwed up and partially because he didn't indicate I had to do an extra step.

Sorry I'm not on eBay enough to know sellers by heart.

Edit: So remember that Disney Cars car I had listed, sold, and the person never paid or responded to messages? I relisted it, someone else bid and won, and now that person hasn't paid. WTF is up with people? :grumpy:

I'll give you something worse: Some scumbag had a stupid shipping policy I didn't read because they put it at the very bottom of their listings, I no longer agreed to it, and couldn't contact them because either the line for them to receive messages in their inbox was cut, or they "don't know how to read English". They eventually opened and closed an unpaid case on me despite sending probably 3 or 4 messages to try and convince the person to retract a bid.

At least in your case, you can do something about non-responsive users. I on the other hand, couldn't.

'63 T-Bird's page is done

UGH!

Aha. I looked at the first page of the thread and spotted a lot of cars that are now pretty valuable. I also spotted the SLR McLaren Jason got, which is now in my basement. :)

Sent them another message, told them they have 24 hours to cough up the dough or I'm reporting for non-payment.

Also, not being able to send an email address through the eBay message system is bull crap. Got someone interested in one of my cars and cannot bid on it as it says Canada is blocked (I didn't block it, yet another eBay issue) so trying to sort out payment another way...
