Ah that makes more sense, at first I thought Jason was referring to the text on bottom of the card. :dunce:
Internet high five? Sure, but don't put your hand through the computer screen and break it. :P

Too late. :indiff:

@Nessy Thanks doctor. :D
I think I'll be going to Walmart in a little bit. Not 100% sure though.
I wish I could have gone today, but I'm just about snowed in. I wanted to look for the new M2 cars, but I can't go much over 25~30 with chains on. :indiff: I may try getting to the post office to pick up few cars that should have arrived now.

I'm going for some Boulevard cars if I go, but not for collecting. Also, I'll be going for THs and errors. Again, if I go.

EDIT: On the way back. Found some great cars and pictures will be posted eventually.

EDIT 2: All pictures are ready to be posted, but I'm going to wait until the thread sees more activity before posting them.

How's this for some activity? :P

First of all, I hope this is a brand new car, because I want one.

My stop at the post office today:

We aren't that used to snow, so there was nobody else at the post office. *Andy laughs his butt off*

$2 Johnny Lightning(Classic Gold) 1969 Mercury Cougar + Greenlight(Motor World) 2013 Chrysler 300 C A Kakashi influence(and it was $3 lol).

Hot Wheels Modern Classics Olds 442

Same seller also had this pair as a set: Boulevard Olds 442 This one's influenced by J-Dawg. :D

Finally Hot Wheels Racing '83 Silverado 4x4

Hot Wheels(Hall of Fame?) Mini Cooper

Now the Matchbox cars:

Dodge Viper GTS(w/ real riders)

Scion xB/Toyota bB + Jaguar XK120SE

'56 Ford F-100 Pickup Trucks

1972 Ford Bronco + Volkswagen W12 Concept

Superfast 1956 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible

Jaguar E-Type Coupe(aka future addition to the AOS- Collection)

Toyota Priuses

And 3 years later, Mercedes McLaren SLR

This is how good Matchboxes can be. 2008 Mazda 2

Seriously, if Matchbox did more like this, they still would be relevant today.

I think that's it. Phew.

Edit: Damn it, how do you forget this!

Land Rover Defender 90

Funny you should acquire a Silverado today because so did I but it can be seen in the other Hot Wheels thread. The Ford truck with the Goodyears is toy car porn. The E-Type is equally toy car pornographic with its sweet vintage racecar look. Now time for my cars:

Staying carded are these cars.

Next three came in a multipack at the checkout lanes. Dat Countach!

The next two are amazing examples of normal Chevy Awesomeness

The FC doesn't have a roll cage, the last four will be customized, and I have a $3.21 profit on the Jetsons car.

How do you figure? And on the RX-7, I still check when I'm looking at hot wheels, but not one new of those seem to come with roll cage anymore.
Got the car at a Rite Aid for $1.79. The car is listed on Hall's Guide for $5.

Main page: http://www.hallsguide.com

Price guides:
http://www.hallsguide.com/diecast-price-guides/

The profit amount will go down just a hair when I include sales tax.

The guides, I'm not sure where they get the values, but I use them when putting prices to cars, but I'd figure rarity comes into play somewhere. That's my investor side.

EDIT: After including sales tax, $3.21 profit.

Ah, I get what you mean. Funny thing: Only Jetson car I ever found was at Rite Aid(also paying damn near two bucks).

You know what else you haven't seen yet? An Australian '69 Dodge Coronet Superbee.

edit: You know what else you haven't seen? This :

And no, there was no "this logo means its a rare car" print behind the car.

I've seen the car sold as secret treasure hunt, but I wouldn't take it if it was offered to me for free. OK, I'd take it for free, then give it to one of my nephews.
Nice photo shop on your number plate, by the way.
Mad skills.
Yellow 2000GT
I have the Superbee, but like Gotbeefboy, I've yet to see the yellow 2000GT. I'm getting one of those.

Edit: I just got the "Australian" joke. You sneaky bastard.

I only pay attention to eBay for average values. Not sure how that site comes up with theirs unless it's just their "estimate".

International cards don't have that on the card.

True, I'm the same way(eBay & TTP). Price guides can give us all the observations, but how much is it gonna cost me in real life?

Not a lot to say to you a6m5.

I guess it's better that way

All this talk of the MB stuff being cleared out - what gives? Are they an endangered species? Should we be grabbing everything up? Anyone actually know what Mattel has going on in the Boardroom? I'm sure at least one exec visits this thread. :)

Could this be the end of Matchbox? I didn't really think about it, but I guess it's entirely possible. We already lost Johnny Lightning in 2013.

Outside Hot Wheels, I am big on M2 Machines & warm on Greenlight, barely lukewarm on AutoWorld. I hope they stick around. Tomica Limited Vintage's really cool, but really expensive, and they don't sell them here.

Walmart deciding to not sell MBX anymore is not Mattel's decision.

Some stores, yes. All depends on their sales, if they don't sell a lot of something they can just decide not to sell it.

As far as the UK stores, no idea.
I'll have a look. Thanks for the info 👍

Not necessarily.

Walmart is the largest North American dealer of Matchbox I can think of. When the distributor of that magnitude drops you, likely there were corporate dialogue between Walmart & Mattel(lot of politics can be involved in such business).

While it's entirely possible that Walmart is solely responsible for the decision not to carry Matchbox anymore due to lack of demand, it also could be that Mattel is either downsizing/discontinuing Matchbox, or that they couldn't come to terms to have Walmart keep selling Matchbox brand thru their stores(generally affected by pricing).

Anywho, I don't think we've heard the end of it, that's just my guess.

2000GT, Falken Supra & that GT2 for me. No regular, or super TH in the whole box. That sucks.

When was the Collector day again? I sort of want that blue Datsun pickup.
