What year was the gold one released?

Exactly my thoughts.

@a6m5. Those Simpsons cars are pretty nifty too. Great stuff mate.👍
Thanks J-goat. 👍 They are cool & I like them a lot(obviously), but they are expensive! I think I submitted 'best offer' of $32 for four of them shipped, and that was the cheapest price I could get them for.

Have no idea what they are worth as a group but honestly $32 doesn't sound too terrible to me.

Edit: Finally a decent looking TH for this year. Want.

Why must Mattel insist on repeating castings for treasure hunts? They have thousands of castings they can use, and they repeat a handful like nobody will notice.

On top of this, I hit 7 stores today looking for G case cars. Only one store had them, and they were picked clean through. No Fiat's or anything else I wanted. Picked up the blue Vanster and went home pissed. Either these stores are taking their sweet time putting them out, or something. Mattel even bothered to post on HWC about them being available "on Friday" and that didn't mean squat.

@a6m5 - gonna need your help on a RLC purchase in the near future. (Toyota 2000GT)

Some suckers do pay that for them. :P

I'm digging it, too. 👍

Sorry to hear that, but I don't miss the 'hunt' at all!

We'll see. :P Any cars I actually manage to get from the club(keep in mind, coveted cars sell out within minutes), I'd like to keep both *cough*or sell'em*cough*.

I have two custom Mustangs there, a red one and a gold one. And yes, the the shell truck does have hoses that extend in and out.:D
I got to get me one of those Shell trucks!

Can you upload a picture of the red one please? :D (Don't forget to resize ;))I have seen a gold Custom Mustang at my local antique mall for as much as $55, most expensive Mustang I have ever seen.

Also that blue Viper is pure awesomeness!

I apologize for the crappy pics.

Hey I have the same car! What a coincidence. While creating some room for loose cars I've received this week, I ended up taking a look at that particular car for couple of seconds. It came with this set:

MomentsinTime1-64AmericanGraffiti56.jpg

Mine also says "SERIES III" on the box, and has chrome spare tire cover.

Mine might not be the American Graffiti release. Lazy Wyatt used the same photo for 2 different releases so I don't know for sure: http://www.jlcollector.net/290.html

edit: That photo you shared doesn't depict a variation. I've spotted numerous difference just now.
They say on the box that they make "continual improvements", so that probably plays a role. Here's mine:

Motormax 1956 Ford Thunderbird

Well just got back from Wal Mart, abit disappointed. I seem to have a thing for coming up with ideas right when the vehicles I need become unavailable.

Oh well, I did get this though:

Love that Chevelle. Celica is pretty cool.

Yeah but... mine's a JL.

2008 HW Classics Series

This one is also going to get quick treatment simply because I've already framed the ones I already have.

Third largest thread in the Rumble Strip. Yay us! :D

When I saw this on the pegs I first thought it was a 55 Gasser color shifter but its a 57 Chevy W/Engine color shifter.

Also found a couple of Cool Classics. I got a 68 Olds 442 and a Purple Passion.

Dang...... Didn't plan on buying any Cool Classics outside the JDM stuff, but I saw a pic of SS Express earlier & now the Olds 442........ Nice.

Found a huge amount of cars today. Pics will come tomorrow. :indiff:

Currently working on customizing a Hot Wheels 500 inspired by a great F1 driver and his car driven in the 1994 season whom we lost way too soon. :(

Obviously if you want more updates on the 500, check the other Hot Wheels thread. ;)

One of the cars I got today had to be uncarded because of blister damage. :grumpy:

Do you take your cars out of the blisters?

No, the reason being is because they lose their essential value.
For example, you buy a hotwheels for a dollar and forty nine cents, the moment you take it out of its originally package, it loses that forty nine cents. Lets say you buy approximately ten hotwheels for the same price, 10 x 1.49= 14.90 minus 5.00, you only have a value of 9.90 when you take them out of their original package, and vice versa you could of had a value of 15.00 if you were to keep them sealed.

However, Someone has a large number of hotwheels that have been taken out. Their value however, does not equal the value of the originally sealed cars in the blisters. Ones included are the poorly stored cars, meaning the ones that have been banged, nicked, scratched, etc, these are known as the rejected junkyard, they have no value.

Everyone has their own collecting habits, some of us collect for fun, some have a serious need to keep everything minty crisp.

Not every car looses it's value when it's loose, it all depends on what someone wants to pay for it, and the rarity of the car.
