I was at pawn shop Monday night and they had three of those red w/black top matchbox alfas in the original package for .99. They also had the white mercedes convertible and silver mercedes sedan in one of my picks (6-7 of them actually) in the original yellow boxes as well for the same price. They must have bought out a store inventory as they had many other nuch newer and they all had Movie Gallery stickers on them. I already have both models, but for .99 I wonder if I should go and pick them up.

PS: Video rental stores carried die-cast at one point...Why??

Here's one of the customs I've finished. An army style '63 Studebaker Champ.

Wanted the star to have a faded sort of look. Did the stencil with tape, which is why it isn't the cleanest job, but still decent.

Think I have the partner to that!

I have several of the MB Ford GTs: one in gold and black stripes, red and white, yellow and black and one with the Gulf livery(almost identical).

The crown of your collection, specially because it’s complete. Not every guy has redlines in his collection. They are called redlines because of the red lines in the tires, duh. They are the first models made by hot wheels (1968-1975 I think) and are very sought after. Google up to find more info.

Whatever you do, don’t touch it. Restoring redlines in a proper way is very complex, difficult and pretty expensive too. Besides, it was your grandfather’s. Keep it as is, don’t destroy its history. Think that it was your grandpa who gave it its current shape, and for surviving that it’s something of a hero.

You’d be better off finding another one in better condition, the Mark V is one of the easiest redlines to come by in that color, and they are amongst the cheapest redlines you can buy. 10 -15 dollars should net you one in near mint condition in the same Spectraflame green color. Hit E-Bay and see for yerself.

Cano is so right here - sometimes it's the sentimental value attached to the car that makes it valuable, and that value is personal only to the collector. There is a pic of a Ford Thunderbird I posted earlier, which was run over once at a campsite - it belonged to my son, and because he was so attached to it abd took it everywhere when he was small and it has so many memories attached to it - it is priceless to me.

SO, I'm done hand-painting my cars, not going to bother taking pictures of them after I coat them with nail polish unless they really turn out nicely.... Them police liveries were from Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 3. I'll have an image link beside each photo of what the livery looks like.

It's so odd that this place carries Hot Wheels. The rest of the toys are cheap 99 cent stuff. But I'm not complaining.

Then this big one, I didn't really expect to buy it, but it was at Toys R Us that day I was there, thrown onto the shelf floor with all the other discarded Hotwheels

Well, it depends on the error really. If it's something sort of cool and is a popular casting, it can be quite valuable. A lot of things can factor in.

Just went to Hotwheels Wikia and found the R32. And realized I gave my first edition R32 to my step-brother a few years ago. I hope he still has it. It was in perfect condition. Out of the box of course.

Found one of these in my dad's collection bin. Still in it's packaging of course. First edition and not sure which rims it had on. With other first editions that I can't seem to find on HW Wikia. I saw a Mini Cooper first edition! The ones with the detachable body.

both Yatmings are very early and very rare, and are in very very good condition. Of all the stuff you showed us, those two are the most serious collector pieces. Keep them in good hands, Commodoreben.

Took a trip to Walmart tonight... In the rain. Figured collectors probably wouldn't go out in heavy rain and they also finish unloading around 10 P.M. I'm glad I went! I found all of the new Walmart redline exclusive cars, an error, and a $uper Datsun T-Hunt! The only T-Hunt of the year that I wanted and I find it. What are the odds? I honestly thought I was pulling out a regular 240Z that a collector left behind to be nice, but then I saw the rubber tires. It's either luck or God is listening.

The blue Heat Fleet Mustang can only be found at Walmart.

One of the Mustang's is an error. Pretty cool one too.

How much do you want for it? I'm literally trying to type/wright down a list.
I wish I could go car hunting. I can't even get out of the house without a lengthy argument on why it's worth it. (Pretty hard to explain the point in getting toy cars and why it's needed) Next year I get my driver's license... then I'm going to pull out into the stores.

Not selling it. But I checked completed listings on eBay and they're going for $20 on average.

Next year I get my driver's license... then I'm going to pull out into the stores.

How rare are those 240z's I never see any down under?

The Treasure Hunt series 240Z is pretty rare. The regular (plastic tires) Hunt 240Z is a bit easier to find, but the $uper (rubber tires) version is very hard to find. And usually collectors and scalpers try to get to the boxes first and take all of the T-Hunts, so that's another reason why they're so hard to find.
