That is a nice page. 👍

Thanks for the link anyways, M-POWER. I have seen most of those other 240Z's before. I thought you meant that there was a Non-T.H. one's for 2011. Wishful thinking. :D 2008 one's in the link Frosty provided looked really cool though. The earlier one's, I just don't care too much for the flash wheel set-up.

Edit: What is the difference between the two 2011 240Z's? Just the color?
Edit2: Nevermind, just re-read M-POWER's post. "Rubber tires". 👍

I... really need to look around those wikis a little more. Must find it!

Also, I looked up the Mini Challenge Hot Wheels car in the HW Wiki. I found 3 cars. One red, two blue. Different wheel options on the blue ones. But when I went on ebay, I keep finding specially sponsored versions! Dominos, SIRIUS, Jelly Belly... probably more. Why are some hidden? Where are these special ones acquired?

Seriously?! I would never imagine a hot wheels car going that far. I would only imagine one in the 500s and that's it. Still unbelievable.

EDIT:
Just showed my mother the car and she was more into talking about how we have one rather then the amazing price it's going for. She says I have a red one... Hmmm...

That would be "cheap". I've seen some cars in the tens of thousands, here in Mexico. In the US it's way crazier.

I have seen a few go for $5,000, and as everyone knows the pink RLBB sold for $72,000.

Heh, yes, the prototype rear loading Beach Bomb. Google that and scratch your head.

For the record, the only CIPSA-made (Mexico) Hot Wheels known to still be in it's blistercard was sold for like $5,500, it was a Superfine Turbine in mustard yellow.

Yeah, but it has free shipping!

As the old saying goes.... "you couldn't make one for that!". Depending on your modeling skill, you almost can.

I'm pretty new to the collecting of these cars but still, I never knew some would go for such high prices. I must google that one that sold for 72,000. That will give my dad a good laugh.

72,000 for a hotwheels is crazy most people I know havnt even spent that on a real car
Here are some more pics of my purchases from work

That Porsche racing car is nice, and so is the original gen RX-7. I sometime forget that car actually exist. You don't see that many around anymore!

those Majorette Castings, the Porsche and the RX7, are well done and a bit bigger than a regular Hot Wheels, their only problem were their tires, which poked out of them too damned much. I have a SVO Mustang and a 3d gen Trans Am that have the same problem. Luckily, both of them are pretty wasted and will see resto-customization with 1- proper wheels, or 2- stock wheels but modified chasis so they fit well.

I have one Ghostbuster's car(thanks to R1600 👍 ), but I've been looking to purchase another one. I have Back to the Future DeLorean sitting at my work, and thought it would be cool to pair it with another 80's movie car. I bid on a loose one on eBay, but got hit by one of them last minute sniper. I had my true max bid on it, so I didn't care. $6 for loose, used was bit much for me, as Toy Peddler already has one for the same $6, or new one for just a dollar more.

I'll keep looking!

Sorry for hijacking this thread, but does anyone have an RLBB remake? I recently bought a pink one, and it looks exactly like a real RLBB.

Moved in to my college dorm today, and I'm pleased to report that the local Wal-Mart Supercenter just a few minutes outside the campus has a good Hot Wheels and Matchbox selection, as well as a very small Johnny Lightning section. As my first order of business as a college student, I went ahead and bought four cars: the purple and yellow racing Matchbox Lesney Lotus Europa (the same one I drooled over a couple of posts ago), a silver Matchbox Cadillac CTS-V Coupe that I've been debating buying for a while, a silver Hot Wheels Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R to compliment my blue one, and the find of the day, one of those light blue and orange (Gulf-ish) Hot Wheels "web trader" Ford GT40s. I'd put up pics but...I don't have a camera anymore :(

Nice! how much, if you don't mind?

And what the heck are RLBB's?

rear-loading Beach Bomb, the most expensive and rare Hot Wheels of all time:

Rear-Loading-Beach-Bomb.jpg

Here we go: in 1969 HW made this prototype of a VW Bus, but as the company wanted top performance in their track sets and this thing didn't fare well (it literally fell down), they re-engineered the car and what hit the stores looked like this:

rlbeachbomb.jpg

the production Beach Bomb was widened with porta-surfboards so it would run well in the tracks. The pre-production, rear-surfboard-loaded proto was in production for about.... two hours, and the few that made it out the assembly line complete were given away to employees as mementos. You can see where this is heading.

Two years ago, the car in the first picture I posted, the Hot Pink RLBB, set a new record when it sold for 72,000 dollars after being fully certified as bein' original. Other RLBB have been found in several colors, but they are no more than 20 or 30, I don't remember well. They fetch thousands of dollars when they pop up for sale, and are the rarest HWs in the world.

As logic would have it, there are now repop RLBBs that can be bought off E-Bay, and even HW has released clones in the RLC selections lineup. But when an original one surfaces, it's all-out celebration in the die-cast world.

Damn. 👍 Thanks for the history lesson, man. It's intriguing how interesting a story like this can be, and how valuable cars like this can be.

Last pic with three of them lined up, it looks damn impressive, doesn't it? :D
