Oh that is right! My mistake, I've started becoming more active in the forums a couple of days ago so... Thanks đź‘Ť

Nothing to get too stressed about - as a6m5 says. You'll learn the ropes as you go along - a lot of reading may help. In the meantime, without actually acting like Anne L. Retentive, we'll try to help you synch in. :) đź‘Ť

Thanks for taking the time to locate the cars and bring them to the table. Now I'm impatient to see much more detailed shots of some of those cars. :D

Its hard to tell where my time on eBay would go if I'm ever going to be able to buy online. Either buying or selling, I know that. I remember @photonrider mentioned something about an e-gift card, so I'll have to look into that option rather soon.

For now, I posted that I had many photos to share, but not every one is uploaded to TinyPic. So until then, here's a car that I may or may not have shared before:

Some caution about those electronic credit cards -
You may have to pay a premium (e.g. $30.00 for a $25.00 card.)
You may have a remainder on the card that is unusable because you might end up with a trivial amount on the card that is not enough to purchase anything further.

It's okay if you've shared a car before. Both Cano and I, for instance, may post the same picture - or another angle of the same car - as the occassion, or discussion of the moment, requires.
For instance I've posted that Plymouth Savoy years ago - but wanted Sonygamer (and any other newcomers to the thread) to see it. :) đź‘Ť

Just don't post the same picture three days in a row . . . because then we'll definitely go looking for pitchforks.. . . .

Thanks for the pointers. I'm definitely going to have to look into a card, because I saw a lot of great cars on eBay last time I looked just to see what was new and laugh at some of the less than reasonable prices on there ($900 basic from a while ago ). :)

Hey thanks bud! :) Will do for the more interesting ones, I have plenty of them so it would occupy tons of space on my post, but i´ll try and post some more detailed shots of those who interest me more and will probably interest you guys aswell! 👍 I´ll post a few tomorrow night. Nice looking Hot Wheels on that pic BTW i have a similar one stashed somewhere.

You can get Visa money cards at Wal-Mart. Not sure what the fees are though...

I've seen them and have been quite tempted. Getting one at Walmart would feel kinda weird for me, because I'd be getting a card to get something that's right there in the store.

I fought someone up to $16.50 for the Bentley, and listed it for $13 and only sold for that much. I noted that $13 was a doable price for several buyers after a quick search on sold listings. Though I may have gotten away with a $16 starting bid, it might not have garnered the same amount of attention.
When I'm concerned about the selling price(almost always am), the starting bid is the asking price in my auctions. By my observation, eBay traffic is too erratic. There are items I could set the starting bid at $1, and it very well could sell for one dollar, or maybe something like five bucks. I list the same item for "high" price(by eBay 'sold' listing search), say $15, it'll likely sit there for a month, but it will sell. From my experience, I don't check for everything I want every week. It's quite obvious, but longer the listing stays online, better chance the right buyer will see it.

There are listings I post I don't really intend to sell at all. I list them, because they are just taking up space in my collection, maybe I think the item is overrated, or they are scarce. It's also free to list on eBay(they take 10% of selling price). These items rarely sell, but I do get inquiries due to their scarcity, and if they are serious, we usually meet in the middle.

Obviously, no use buying something you can find locally. I do sell off random junks on eBay though, along with excess cars from my hot wheel collection. Funds generally get reinvested straight into hot wheels & other minicars. :D

That doesn't make sense.
I thought you wanted a card so you could shop online (because you don't have, for instance, something like PayPal.)
I mean, if you're shopping in person . . you could even give your watch to the gas station guy and fill up.

I'm surprisingly about to do the same, except I'm leaving everything open to offers. With what I plan to do with the asking price, I'd be hella surprised if buyers even make the effort to click on my listings in the search results.

Yep that is true. đź‘Ť Vehicles like the Express Lane, Radio Flyer Wagon, Hot Seat and the Red Baron tend to interest me alot as well. :dopey:

I have two First Edition packages of the Radio Flyer and one opened. I don't have a single Red Baron, which annoys me since I'll never find one on the pegs now - it'll have to be online. Or I find a trade.
I buy extras with the intention of putting them out on the market one day, or I trade with buddies IRL.

My other Sharkruisers are in organized boxes in my basement, but I am just too lazy to get them.

Quite honestly when I go through my boxes, I tend to stop and admire everything I have collected in the past decade, so much, it takes me FOREVER just find to find one vehicle. I tend to be heavily attached to everything I buy.

This happens to me, too; I might take my box of Mustangs out to do some photography or diorama set-ups, and then I'll just sit at the table going though every Mustang in the box and checking them out and sometimes I'll leave the box, having excited myself enough, and go play GT5. Or 6.
Kinda like porn, isn't it? :ouch:

Sometimes it doesn't even get to that point - under the Mustangs will be some Plymouths that catch my eye, and if I take that box to just have a quick look at it, suddenly I'm faced with a hundred shiny muscle cars staring at me all smiley and shiny from the box beneath the Plymouths, and then . . . see where this is going?
Basically Gollum with the Ring - but lots, and lots, and lots of Rings. Precious.

I will admit I do find it amusing to have Hot Wheels submerged under water like that but in a way I find it to be a bit wasteful. Like buying a Hot Wheel and then never opening it, I just can't stand to leave it there, I got to play with it!

Submersible products for aquariums are very expensive, believe me (being an aquarist is another one of my hobbies :D - ever since I could grasp a net and wade into a lake - and have been at it for quite some time, and have many friends with the same hobby - paying a couple of dollars for a few HWs is nothing compared to the $6.00 at the minimum you'll pay for a few inches of plastic fern - or for that matter the $10.00 you'll pay for a clump of cabomba.
12 inches of cured driftwood can set you back $30.00; I always make my own logs from driftwood I gather at the lakeshore.)
So we always look around for suitable stuff to dress up our tanks and give the fish something to mosey around. HWs, and in fact more so MBX, is a source of that. Who knew, eh?

Yep I sure do collect them. :D I have a lot I could list including a blue Hummer H2 with surfboards, I used to call it "The Ultimate Beach Vehicle"! :dopey: Deara II has been a favorite since I was a kid.

If you really want to make a beach diorama, start with these ;) :

I love those Action Pack diorama sets - they're good sets to build further environments around - and I caught the one you posted in the Diorama thread, too.
Who knows one day - I'll just blow a few hundred dollars out of my PayPal. :scared:
For now - because HW never makes everything to the same scale (a6m5 placed a great post in here demonstrating how well Tomica scales its models across the various models so you can combine them together - or the replicas from Kyosho (which are actually scale models) demonstrate that) the HW models never go together, and can throw off the proportions when used together.
Take an HW bus and place it next to a regular street car - and you'll see. Nothing's to proportion, or scale. These aren't scale models - these are baseline models good enough for kids - but for the purpose of dioramas, one has to be careful using those pre-made Action Pack sets, and have to incorporate them judiciously. This is why I make most of my own stuff.
In terms of collectibility and value - I'm sure those Action Packs can go for a lot - too expensive for fish-tanks!
Though, maybe a shark with one of those people in its teeth would sure make an interesting tableau for the resident anabantoids.

That one with the jet engines is one I wish I had gotten when it was available.:indiff: That green one with the spoiler brings back childhood memories. :D That white one looks fabulous! :dopey: It should be a life guard vehicle instead of a fire department vehicle. ;) I kind of dig that Majorette as well. ;)đź‘Ť

You have a nice collection of El Camino's here, but you are missing the best of them all.......

The Seasider. ;)

Darn right!
I want that El Camino. Too.

After while, you start lowering prices, or you lower it to the point you want to do something else with it. At least that's how I operate.
C'mon man. That's an old one. :P
And is the most popular one, at least around me!
Driver Returns On Foot?
Tricky, tricky. :D
Tomica Lexus IS350 F-Sport.
In real life, I have a crush on this car....... IRL.......

:P

I have 2 neighbors owning that car. One is white and the other is a dark red one.
I remember you mentioning that. Crazy designs you are negative towards, or aren't that sure about at first...... then sometime pass, and you adore them. That's this car for me. Those are my favorite kind of designs. Last Supra they made, these 90's Civics, they were like that for me also.

Also, Tomica should have created the RC F Coupe too. Man, I love that thing...
