Long post warning! Bare with me!
DUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE YOU LUCKY SOB. Damn you SCORED. Let's go.
I was just dying to hear your response to this after I posted these!
These are
the score. Forget the redlines. These are two of three cars that came in the late-80s
"Body Swappers" playset. You're missing a yellow pick up. These could trade their bodies and frames for severall different car combos. They are
extremely rare, so whatever you pad for them, they are worth every. damn. single. penny.
I had a
very strong feeling they were rare since they are ones I didn't even recognize and I had never seen them before anywhere, not even on the internet. I wonder what there value is.
I am definitely glad I didn't leave the sports car because I almost did. I didn't see the yellow pickup there otherwise I probably would have gotten it without a single doubt in my mind. Man I want it so badly!
And I'll say it out loud now, if you ever want to get rid of them, think of your ole' friend Cano first. Serious.
Sorry but I don't plan on
EVER getting rid of them.
Like I told
photonrider earlier, I get way too attached to every Hot Wheel I buy and I have a lot more of an attachment for these than most vehicles I usually buy.
Dude I can't believe you haave never heard of this car, it's one of the most prolific Hot wheels castings! Lucky SOD again, as you grabbed the hardest of the blue colors this thing came in. Minty, too. I think not even mine's in such a good condition.
Yea I will admit, I feel pretty dumb for not knowing this one well, guess it's because I never looked at the old Flying Colors series much. I may have seen this once before on the internet or in a field guide and then just forgot about it somehow. That's odd for me because I
NEVER forget about a Hot Wheel.
Don't restore it, it's nice enough to let it be.
Well the most I planned on doing was giving it a new windshield and wheels just like what it already come with, granted that I ever find them that is. The paint is staying the same, gives it some dignity in my opinion.
The paint isn't gone, it's just gone dull. You grabbed the chrome version of the Twin Mill:
Yea after I posted it, I began to wonder if that was the case, however mine has redlines on it.
Ether way, this thing is so old and worn down, I won't even need paint stripper to get the rest of the paint off. A carbon steel brush could easily wipe away the remainder of the paint as well as the oxidation and mold that has gathered on it.
It's actually in good shape to be restored, and here's why: score around the super markets for the green version that's everywhere right now and get it some new engines 👍
My thoughts exactly!
👍 Since they just recently released a new Twin Mill with chrome engines, that can be a good, cheap donor, not to mention my first ever engine donor.
Great post dude, been some time since anyone posted old stuff 👍
Thanks Cano!
The Collectors Antique Mall is full of rare stuff, more than I can even remember all at once too. I may try to see if my dad can take me again tomorrow while he is still off.
By the way, I know you are wanting to know the price I paid for these so here it is. I got the Rolls Royce for $8 and
all the other ones were $2 each!
Here's the receipt
(Click it if you are having trouble reading it)

Just to make a long post even longer, here are some of my findings from the Collectors Antique Mall just today.
Had Jack open the glass case again because there was a box with some vehicles in it I wanted to look at and he mentioned there was a extremely rare casting in there. Turns out it was this old, beat up yellow Mercedes Benz 280SL lacking only the hood:
Unfortunitly, the box was $30 and I couldn't buy the Benz separately.
And then there is this.
Cano Remind me again about what you said earlier about the redline Corvette.
