I have but I don't know what's a good deal. Hell, even if someone seems a good multiple cars.

Reason I'm asking is I don't know what's worth what.

Buy the Tomica Limiteds! They are slowly becoming rare because they recently stopped it. It has one of the highest resale value of a tomica now.

But then comes I don't know of them what to buy. I really am clueless when it comes to these..

Dude just buy what you like. Find a car that calls you then ask over here if it's a good deal.

Also, this:

Majorette. Made in France.

Asks a question; quits. I don't understand why frustration is necessary. I think people don't understand what you're really trying to ask if that's the case.

Like I said, $5 is what they retail for. You'll find them mostly in that range. Anything lower would be considered a deal, would it not?

Just look, find something interesting, and determine whether you'd pay that price for that item. If so, buy; if not, pass.

If you wanted to find out what's worth buying, then we (probably) don't have an answer for that. Tomica basics are all basic toy cars, and I don't think there's sought-after castings at the same level as Hot Wheels. Even if there was, it may not even be worth it. Most of us here would encourage you seek Tomica Limited and Tomica Limited Vintage models not for its value, but for its beauty- the other end of the spectrum.

Some collect solely for the money, some collect solely for its beauty (or "aesthetic pleasure").

They Stopped making Limiteds since 2013. TLV's and Neos are still going.

When it was still going I mean. I wouldn't say it was "the plan", but on some subconscious level, I like to think it is... most things are like that. "Here's a nice-ass product we've got. Oh but you want something of lesser cost? Sure we got you covered. Here you go: same thing pretty much, just not as pretty."

I'd almost buy you that, if "upgrading" wasn't 20 bucks per car. Also, mainline tomicas aren't geared for collectors in Japan, they're toy cars. Tomica needs to upgrade their wheels.

Tomica non limited series have a lot of variations. Most of my tomicas are not limited. There are models only meant for Japanese market, special editions, event series, museum series, anniversary series etc. Some could be more expensive than the limited series.

Talking about retail prices, dude. Of course if you go to the msueum and buy a museum-only piece there for $4, then put it on E-Bay for $40, is going to be more expensive

Well, to me it is similar to hotwheels example Datsun 510 ... bought for $5-6 and sell it for $30-$50+ on ebay

this cost more than the new limited series, just an example of non limited series could be more expensive than limited series and this is not the museum series and it is from a retail shop.

Agreed. I really doubt it's some conspiracy, but it can't be that hard to improve their current wheel design.
I wanna get a Tomica but I don't wanna spend more than say 20USD but I don't know what would be a good deal.

Anyone got a good deal on eBay or anything that takes PayPal? Doesn't even have to be TLV just normal ones are fine.
Boy, I strongly recommend their Vintage line. Even if you buy their low end car for around $10~$12 U.S.(roughly 1,000~1,200 yen), plus shipping, it'd be one of your favorite cars, if not the favorite. They are just that good. The difference between standard Tomica & TLVs are night & day.

I mainly get them from two sources: AmiAmi or Japan Booster(use link on the right)

Generally, they have the best prices. AmiAmi prices are in yen, but you can just use Google to convert, or I just remember that $10 U.S. is roughly a 1,000 yen. :)

I do agree with Jason/R1600Turbo's advice. With me, I go after a car I see & really want. Once the target is set, I start price shopping. :D
🤬 I'll just not bother.
"Red Flag", right? Hong Qi? Only line of Chinese car I was aware of as a kid.

And it still has those deamned outdated wheels, mind you.

The outdated wheels is actually a Tomica Icon.
(Indeed it is. It's not outdated, A new wheel variant was made when production shifted to Vietnam, It's still the same with stiffer suspension, mind you..)

Spot on pal :gtpflag:, I think some of the bigger brands, Tomica tends to have more details on them even it is just a mainline series. Most of the mainline series also includes "suspension" lol.

I just got a linked-in contact request from a Hot Wheels designer. Not sure how he got my email, maybe from HWC.com. Sort of odd at this time of night. :P Not to mention I didn't have an account at linked-in to begin with.
