Yeah anyway, this one dude has like 48 sets of assorted real riders and wants $150 shipped. Not worth it?

Japanese Diecast master..(A6M5、今回はちょっと恥ずかしいだ。)
Japanese Diecast Master.... JDM. I love it. Nothing embarrassing about it.👍
Oh hang on, my uncle brother bob daddy frank sweat man. Do any of your Hakosukas have a rollcage? No I'm guessing?
No, and I'm not sweaty.
Could everyone please stop posting pictures of Kyoshos, Norevs (really cool!) and TLVs? It's making my wallet tremble.

Thanks a lot.

Tinier than the tiny car.

At over $3 per car, they better be: 1) Worth more the $3, $4 ea. 2) 90% exactly what I want.

Other words, I wouldn't do it.

I could definitely take that Alto off your hands if you decide to sell it. I'm serious. But otherwise, those cars are damn cool.

Tomica Limited Vintage LV-104b Toyota Land Cruiser FJ56V

Maybe if I show my wife the truck with the pigs she'll shell out the money for it. She likes pigs.
Maybe.
Gotta have a angle.

Never see myself selling that one. :P If I had the money...... or if I actually was into the hobby, I'd love to have a spare for badass custom.

^! Excuse me while I pick myself up off the floor. Holy hellcats.

Says the guy who just posted that sweet RX-500.

Finally! Great group shot. 👍
One of my new favorites. 👍

I can see why. Man, that looks to have some great details.

@a6m5: Cool car, but dat detail doe.

Agreed! Very good, even for a TLV. 👍

My favorite shot of Tomica was with that tiny Honda T360 pickup with a quarter(25 cents) to it?

I tried to recreate it only to realize I don't have a quarter on me. While looking around, I found a 1964 100-yen coin! It seems to be commemorative of the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, which is way cool.

It's smaller than a quarter, so I'm gonna try this again with a quarter, but this coin is of the same vintage as the real life car. :D
incredibly dangerous.

Awesome collection(and display). Especially love the Kyoshos.👍 I really can't wait for my Bluebird(Coke) Super Silhouette now.

Exactly!

Land Cruiser shot was for you, too. :P

Bad news though. That orange one from Dabox Toys, one that came with a blemished box? I opened the other two today, and realized I was supposed to get an antenna them. I suppose it's possible I misplaced it, but it wouldn't shock me any if they came without the antenna considering the state of the box it came in.
I have two Tomica cars in my collection. I'll post them up tomorrow when I can locate both for a group shot instead of just one car. One is a Stratos, the other a P34. :mischievous:

PS, I tried to give a cliffhanger, but I think I failed.
I can't wait!

I liked it, what else do you want man! :P Oh and thank you for the pictures. :embarrassed:

Haven't bothered with any of my antenna's, knowing my skills with stuff like that I'll probably either break the damn thing or lose it. Sucks about yours though, hopefully you've only misplaced it or something.

I'm not trying to rub it in on Jason or anything(honestly), but I was just going over the invoice from AmiAmi? That white Bellett cost me roughly $11 from them....... and with the combined shipping, for the six cars, it came to just over $2 per car. Car retails for $16 or something, but I paid almost $3 below MSRP, delivered. Love AmiAmi. :embarrassed:

MAYBE........... you want to be my best friend & mail me the antenna you don't need. :P

I'm kidding, lord know if I ever get around to install that stuff on my Tomicas.

I found no less than five M cases at a Wal-Mart tonight. Looked around for an employee in toys to ask permission to open them, nobody around. Went to customer service and was told no.

I feel stupid.

As other collectors say, better to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission. I should have just opened them...

@a6m5, man those are some sick grabs, but what's really sick is that 100 yen coin. Can I buy that off you? It will be the first Japanese coin to be entered into my collection of foreign currency.

You know what one employee told me? "You can open it on your own because you're a customer, but we can't open it for you though since it's still in a box." Don't ask why that's even a rule. : lol:

I can't, as I found it amongst coins that were handed down to me from family. Good news for you though, as soon as I posted that pic, I looked on eBay to see if the coin's worth anything & it's not. :dopey: ¥100 is roughly a dollar. On eBay, I think this particular coin's going for just a few bucks. I did find one that was worth $15 or more........ but I looked at it carefully and it was ¥1000 coin(roughly $10). I didn't even know they made something like that back in the 60's, but whatever. :crazy

I was always told that Wal-Mart had a policy that if it's on the sales floor it's for sale. Not all stores follow it though.

In the UK, I guess because space is tight, there are many things that are in brown boxes on the sales floor which you are not allowed to open. It is slightly silly because if it's in public space you should be able to open it and buy what's there.

Here it is:
Here are the other two:

Yeah now you're just showing off. I'd say I have to counterattack that. We'll see. I've been entretaining the idea of taking off the cars in my display since they're just collecting unhealthy ammounts of dust and changing them for the ones that have a clear case, a lá Kyosho, 100% Hot Wheels and stuff. Might take a while though :/

I guess because until it's merchandised it's inventory rather than for sale?

I'm a butcher and we can't sell anything still in its company wrapper, for example.

I assume they would have to scan all the contents into the system from the box before putting them on the shelves but if they are not in the system they shouldn't be in a public area because the stuff could go missing and they wouldn't know it's gone.

I guess with food items it's different because it has to be weighed and then priced accordingly, also sell by dates have to be staggered with the newer stuff held back. In the case of HW's it's got a barcode so it should be ready to sell.

Reminds me of this scene...

All merchandise shipped to walmart stores is checked in when it's loaded off the truck. Once it is moved out on the sales floor (usually afer 9 or 10pm at night) it's basically salable goods still contained in their shipping boxes waiting to be put on the shelves. They don't like people going through the pallets because they don't want "boxes falling and injuring customers".

Most Walmart stores know that HW collectors like to get the new stuff ASAP and there are unfortunately some "collectors" out there that will just take them off the pallets and make a mess, so they ruin it for the rest of us. I usually ask politely if I can open them, and even offer to hang up the cars I don't want. (Last night there was plenty of room to do so) I still got a stern "no". If I still lived in Phoenix I would have went home, changed, came back and had at it. :P

Like VXR suggested, it can often be inventory control, as not all merchandise is ready to sell straight out of cases, also stores naturally want to get rid of the old stuff still on the shelves, first.

With Hot Wheels at Walmart, I think Jason's 100% correct about the liability & messes involved. I also wouldn't be surprised if politics came into play every now & then. I'm sure there are Walmart employees who are tired of certain types collectors making messes & just walking out with five bucks worth of hot wheels.

Like he said in the earlier post, I've seen Walmart let people(even giving them a hand) go thru hot wheel shipments, but also at times wheeling the pallet away, leaving the collectors hanging.
