James2097Anyways, big ups (massive ups, GINORMOUS UPS, HUMUNGOUS UPS!! -ok I'll stop there ) to anyone who A-specced it all the way!
Crunch_Monkey100% in two and a half weeks? Is that really possible? With the legnth of all the eight to twenty four hour races, as well as the difficulty of the Missions... I'm thinking it would take some serious luck to nail ALL of those on the first try.
yeah there plenty of them around here, not me though.ALFA GTSorry if it has been mentioned but i don't have the patience to read back, is there any one who has finished the game without touching B-Spec
KevsfastZPick any one of the three cars you got there, I'll run ya anyways im at 45% and for some reason I'm getting bored with the game
Kev D.
yeah - it's easy to question the real driving simulator tag (or whatever it is) when a 14 year old can have 300 cars and over 90% completion (incl. all missions and golds!)kennythebombI'm at 65%... don't own any cars in real life
I'm in the same boat as you. I'm close to 90% - I've completed missions 1-10 and 21-25, but the rest of the missions are just too difficult. The three lap battles are all rotten nightmares, and the single lap showdowns are just as bad PLUS I refuse to race them on principle because PD so completely screwed up their execution (forcing you to wait at the starting line... total BS). And I have done every normal race except for the Speedster Trophy, the two ice races on Hard, and Cathedral Rocks II on Hard. I also have mostly bronze medals... I have about half silver on domestic B and a single gold, but again, I can't imagine ever being able to gold all of them. Maybe silver on the two domestic licenses, but that's about as far as I can realistically get.AutomobileI doubt if I'll ever be able to get 100% game completion. I can't seem to get past race 11 in the Driving Mission Hall. I have the first section of it done and have recieved the first prize car. I have about 4 other random one's done too around the middle. I think having a one of those steering wheel type controllers, which I'm sure most of the GT hardcore people have, would make this a lot easier. The Driving Missions are the only barrier I can see to completing the game for me. I have finished all the Manufacterer races, National events, Beginner and Professional races and am currently half way through the last event in the Extreme hall. I have only two 24h races left in the Endurance Hall, which I just haven't bothered to B-Spec yet. Oh ya and I have only two Hard snow races left in the Special Conditions hall which I'll do after I finish the Extreme event I'm currently in. I have all Bronze licenses, I can't even begin to concieve getting Silver or Gold there, it's just too frustrating, even though I'd like the prize cars. I have completed 91% of the game. Those Driving Missions are going to haunt me forever it seems.
No, the point of one-lap magic is to come from behind. They should start all the cars at different points. Give the other cars a rolling start maybe. The idea is that you should not be forced to wait 30-120 seconds as a handicap - they should just start the other cars partway down the track. It's really stupid that they make you wait. It goes against the most important, central principle of game design, which is to keep things fun. Sitting and waiting isn't fun.<_Spike_>But that's the whole point of one lap magic...if you all started at the same time you'd be a long long way ahead and it wouldn't be a challenge. The execution of 1 Lap Magic is exactly spot on...and whilst they seem daunting, trust me, they're do-able...infact I did those before I even did half the others (except M34...that had to wait).
Keep it up and you'll get quicker and close until you finally do it.

There you'll find hints, tips and a few videos on driving and licence tests (When you see the videos and find out that they can be done it does boost confidence and make it seem easier)
I've been redoing license tests and so far I've gotten all silvers on B, A, and iB, and five silvers on iA. Doing these was fun and satisfying. The game creators should never force a situation in which you are agonizingly bored and frustrated for no good reason. Getting those silver medals was very satisfying to me, and I didn't have to wait 90 seconds to retry when I made a mistake.<_Spike_>No it's not fun, but you can't expect every single tiny thing about the game to be easy/fun. The annoyance of waiting for up to two minutes will be exchanged for sheer satisfaction that you can say "I've done these missions at last".
The job of the game creators is to make sure it's the proper difficulty. It doesn't matter if it's a staggered rolling start, a staggered standing start, or a standing start with a delay for each car. It would take them just as long to figure out how to time it if they used an alternate starting method. Look at the 3 Lap Battles - those are all rolling starts, yet they're not overly easy either.<_Spike_>Why do you think they give you a car that is, overall, much more superior to the first placed car. A staggered start from a stand still would basically give no difference, you'd still have to come back from a fair way back, even further back to compensate for your faster acceleration from a stand still.
As for rolling starts, again, it would be too easy unless you were a long way back *or* the cars were more equal, which would then make it nothing more then another race and not much of a special mission.
