18 Minute Gamespot/Gamescom FM4 Video

Right 'cause T10 just HAD to use the same New York streets as PD 'cause the city's so small. And if they use the Tank Car and they'll just HAVE to call it the Jay Leno Tank Car because that's it's actual name.

Great so maybe now I can race in one of my favorite fictional city tracks with a cockpit view and decent damage physics, thanks turn 10.

I think you are blowing the whole New York thing out of proportion, it was first used in GT4, Forza came out a few months later(a tad over 5 to be exact). I really don't think they can model a track like Forza's long New York track in that time and still get it out on schedule.

Also, it's not like some genius idea to use Time Square, it's probably the most well known section of NYC.

Here is a video of the long layout.

EDIT: In all fairness, I hope it ISN'T the Blastaline. There are a LOT of ultra rare cars in Jay's Garage. I do hope that they only mention Jay's name in the description of the car, as well. I like T10 and I don't like it when they copy something from another game because they have greater talent than that. I mean...they essentially took the lighting effects from Wall*E and Cars and put it into the game. That's a brilliant idea. But, when they do stuff like take PD's New York track and slightly modify it, it feels more like they're shorting themselves. I don't like it.
Dude, I don't know if you've ever been to NY but when you think of NY that area IS NY. Sorry but what did you want Turn10 to do, make a track around the Bronx Zoo? Maybe University Ave in the Bronx? How about a few laps around old Shea Stadium? Or maybe put a haripin between the bum and crackhead between Atlantic Ave and Nevins street in Brooklyn. Dude that area is iconic N.Y. If anything what they should have did was also make an "old track" N.Y. and put all the seedy stuff in there like it used to be back in the 70's and 80's. I'd pay money for that DLC with a "mature" rating. Ahh the good old days where a rubber and a few bucks made a boy into a man. lol

EDIT: Let me clarify by saying to non-NY'ers that area is NY. To those born and raised there it's nothing more than a tourist trap now. A whole bunch of corporate stores and little shops doing the same thing: selling goods at OUTRAGEOUS prices (and some grey market goods at that)

I bothers me slightly, but more for the same reason the New York track bothers me: It's something T10 saw in GT and said, "hey, let's do that." However, imitation is the highest form of flattery.

But, it will be interesting to see if they call it the Tank Car or the Blastaline Special.

And you seriously wonder why people give you flack around here whenever they do. It's because you say things like that.

Yeah, I hated it when FM3 had cockpits and then all of a sudden GT5 came out with cockpits.

Wow, what a rip off.

But as they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

This game will destroy GT5, that's for sure.

But man, is Dan annoying. He is reciting the same damn poem over and over in each of his interviews. It's like watching a bot. And he talks about car passion, but all I get from him is soul-less forza marketing.

It's their good fortune that the game looks to be THAT good, because I really dislike T10...

Sometimes I wonder if people on forums understand the real world at all...

I don't know about destroy. Granted, I'm not first, second, nor even the third person quick to compliment GT5 as I find very little worth complimenting on, but to say FM4 will destroy it...well that all depends on what you mean by it: as a game, absolutely - FM3 already does that. Let's reserve all of that until October 11th.

It's material he's given. of course he's going to say the same thing at the same event(s).

I don't see how you see Dan as souless.
He obviously has a passion for cars, an dyou can tell when he talks about his M3.
As for destroying GT5, They don't need to destroy GT5, GT5 can do bad all by itself.

You should stop thinking like this, as you make it sound like you know what that person talks about, or in which context. I could say the same about you (which I do).

I disagree. Forza 3 was a lame product in my opinion, it was just a limping demo of what they want to do next. Which in turn came out like nothing in Forza 4 (from what we've seen so far). So yeah, Forza 4 looks like it will destroy GT5, while forza 3 did nothing of the sorts. Opinions opinions...

Forza 4 looks to be massively loaded with features.

While FM4 looks to be the bee's knees, I don't see it destroying GT5. First off, it sold very well already. And the GT franchise will be kept alive by its name alone, so that's a pretty moot point.

If we're talking rating scores, than FM3 already did that to GT5.

Quality wise? Well, I preffered FM3 already, so with FM4, there's no reason to not believe that I'll enjoy it much, much more than GT5 - however, I'd hardly call that 'destroying' GT5. It just means that it's without equal or competition on consoles, in my opinion - but there's nothing that'll be able to destroy GT, aside from PD themselves, of course

What I meant with destroy was that with F4, it should be a no-brainer for new players when choosing between the two games. GT as a series will continue to live and succeed, as will Forza. I was talking about the F4-GT5 case only.

Yeah, I think I get what you're saying, H3avyM3tal. I feel the same way, actually. Problem is, for new players, those things we're experiencing and rating the games by are probably just an afterthought... I'll happily tell just about everyone to go for FM4 over GT5, though, if they have to make the dicision.

Otherwise, I'd say that it's best to experience both games yourself. Not because I feel it's hard to decide on a clear winner, but because it's always best to make the decision based on first-hand information ;)

Whatever. That's not how I see it, but, yall can believe what you want to believe. And...if you don't agree with something I say, you can always choose not to comment on it.

And, no, I don't wonder why people give me flack. But, again, you can think whatever you want.

Back on topic, here is a screenshot of the autovista car selection menu.

The Zonda, and Morgan will get the treatment!

Well, they are exactly the kind of cars to feature in AutoVista. Afterall, Dan said that the SLS is one of the most common cars in AutoVista, one of the least rare.

So, I guess no Skylines, Mustangs, M3s or the likes in there :indiff:

I don't know if it's been touched on (or possible for that matter), but I wonder if T10 can release updates every so often that add a new car into the mode.

I mean, surely when the DLC cars start arriving on the marketplace, I would expect 1 or 2 of them to be usable in the mode.

Well, I could imagine that they're doing something like that - or, more likely, that they'll offer DLC packs specifically for AutoVista.

That Zonda looks like a Cinque. But I might just be seeing things.
Yup, it looks a lot like the Cinque.

Your a nice guy but why do you continuously repost videos across multiple threads?

Also Autovista's videos are spoilers in my book. No problem I just clicked back off it as soon as I saw it.

I know I'm in a minority by I've only watched one previously and swore to myself not to watch again until release.

Don't want to be mr grumpy here btw.

The only one's I've seen are the ones included in the overall presentations.

On the OP video, I like everything that Greenawalt said except the part where he says he doesn't expect everyone to have hundreds of cars in their garage, he expects people to have 5 or 10 cars. Really? I'm not going to be happy with 5 or 10 cars. Who here honestly would be happy spending $60 to $89 (what I already paid, with tax) for a video game with over 500 cars in it and only have 5 or 10 in their garage?

Greenawalt's thought process here may be the reason Forza 3 cars cost so much in relation to how long it took to save up for them. It takes over a year of 40 hour a week racing to buy every car. To mod a car enough to be competitive on leaderboards, it usually takes several times the original cost of the car.

If you say "real life cars are expensive", I say this isn't real life, it's a video game. I bought it to drive all the cars in all the races, not to be limited to 5 or 10 cars. In real life most people can't do any of this stuff. That's why we buy the games.

It's a video game that tries to be real life.
