I would assume you should try it without using your saved game data. I'm still downloading the game again and will report back.

How much is the AMG worth if you try it sell it?

cant sell it for me :/

I'm not one for hacking/cheating/taking advantage of glitches etc so I was in two minds about this, but today I decided to take the plunge. I'm strongly against this new environment of micro-transactions, dlc and in-game purchasing and it's a shame but inevitable that gt has gone down this route. But £8 for 1mil cr? That's ridiculous, I think £1 is a fair price that I'd happily pay. A lot of people seem to think that it's going to vastly improve like gt5 did but I don't think it will ever be as easy as gt5 to earn cr as that would wipe out our incentive to spend money.

You could call this a two-fingered salute to the pricing; in-game purchases are here to stay unfortunately but I refuse to be ripped off. If Sony cut the cost from £8 to £1 then sales could increase tenfold, I know I'd grab a few million credits every now and then but at this price no chance
I am perfectly okay with purchasing DLC. I bought every single bit of DLC that came out on GT5 and I will do the same for the upcoming DLC on GT6. The way I see it, you paid for what was put into the game at the release date. That money was spent to buy all of PD's research and development that went into the initial game. Once PD spends more money to offer us more content, I think it's fair that they ask to be reimbursed for that extra investment they put in.

What I don't think is fair is when they sell you a game that has virtually unachievable content. How in the world are you supposed to be able to buy a 20M credit car in the game when the total payout of all races to the end is around $7M credits? By the time you're done grinding enough winnings to buy the Ferrari 330 P4, GT7 will be out. Oh, I know. They expect you to spend nearly the amount of money that you already paid for their game to buy enough virtual money just to get the car they put in the game for you to "enjoy" driving. By the time you grind enough to buy the Ferrari 330, you will be so sick of playing GT6 it won't matter.

I took the first $20M and bought 20 Mercedes. Went back to 1.00 and bought all the $20M cars and a few other cars I wanted. With the rest of the money, I stocked up on one of the Ford's $20M car. Now I'm downloading 1.01. Once I'm in there, I'll sell 5 of $20M Fords to bring me up to $50M. Take that $50M and buy 50 Mercedes. Go back to 1.00 and sell all of them and buy 49 $20M Fords (I chose the Ford because it's the closest one when going into the dealership). When you go back to 1.01 you'll have $20M cash and a piggy bank of $20M Fords to sell off when you need the money. Getting $6M a piece you'll have $294M just incase you need to buy something.

Figures you all would would take it out of context but that's fine

Regardless of the context, the tone of your reply was way out of line.
We all make mistakes. We all sometimes say something we shouldn't have said or say something in a way that is undesirable or offensive, even though we didn't mean it that way. In that case there is nothing more admirable than admitting you made a mistake and apologizing for it… just a thought.

I don't think I'd enjoy GT6 if I had all that money to start with.. the whole point of GT is level up your garage slowly and start small and end up with super cars at the end. Although the grind to get all those cars is a bit too much. I feel like at higher levels the payout should be much greater.

The best thing PD can do is give you a winning bonus as you advance. For example if you completed 50% of the game, you get a 50% bonus on top of the prize money.

anyone has car icon missing in their garage issue? i mean after this 20 mil glitch?

Yep, just press "select" button on your controller. Brings up options. Tick the cars with missing icons and then move right to "Update Car Image" and they'll all return :)

Yea get ready to spend A LONG time updating those images if you have a lot of cars to update. Took me quite a while and that was just 39 cars lol.

I updated 308 manually the 1st time - took me about 2 hours. The I discovered the update all trick :banghead:

That won't work.

It really sucks that there is no middle ground here. From the looks of it, you either have to grind to get the most expensive cars or exploit this glitch to basically get unlimited money, throwing the offline portion out the window.

Now at the moment, I'm not feeling the grind people have been complaining about. Right now, I'm taking my time with the game by aiming for the cars I want that cost 50,000 Cr. or less and then I'll gradually work my way up. I've been doing events in different cars that I like. But eventually, I'm going to reach the point where I have to go after the 1,000,000+ Cr. cars and if the grind is as bad as people describe, then I'm not sure what I'll do with the game in the future.

Hopefully, the game's economy will change for the better, especially once PD/Sony see that people are using this glitch to avoid paying real money for credits.

Ah, ignore me.

I was confused by the comment about buying all the 20m credit cars in version 1.00. I'm thinking you can only buy one with the 20m credit limit, but obviously you buy one 20m car, sell another Merc Vision, buy another car etc. Got my head around it now
💡

Just a heads up, in case it hasn't been mentioned yet in this thread, the issue with having the Merc Vision GT selected when coming back into V1.0 and the game freezing is not limited to the Vision GT. I kept having a freezing issue and then I realized I had the '13 NSX Concept selected before exiting and deleting V1.01. I think if you are currently using any car that was released after the patch, you will run into the same issue.
I think he was asking, not boasting.
Oops. I guess I missed the "how" in his post. I thought it said, "Do you know you can..." Thanks for the heads up.

I successfully sold the Merc and got the $20 million, but now I can't seem to re-download the 1.01 patch. It starts to download s-l-o-w-l-y and then the server connection times out. Been trying for about 2 hours now.

Servers getting hammered by everyone using this exploit, maybe? Anyone else having trouble?

It will be nice if you can drive all of those cars at the very same time...but you can´t and neither do I. What´s the point of having them all?...You´ll never going to drive all of them.

I tried to get them all in GT5 in 2 years, yet I found out that it was a waste of my real life time. Is good to have a glitch that helps to get them...but I won´t risk my 3 days of playing because of having more cars...I´m getting the ones I really like as I said in other post.
More value for me, my hard earned credits increases the value of "my" cars.

So we are in the same situation after all. You have more cars...but you can drive one at once. ;)
Is it that hard to use 1000 cars? You can't drive them all at once, but you can certainly drive more than one per day. The point of having them all is to be able to actually use the content on the disk as you want. It made GT5 much more fun and I did very easily make use of the cars I duped endlessly.

I don't own GT6 or plan to buy it but I would use this to bypass credits without a doubt.

I hear you. GT3 was perfect in that "rags to riches" approach. I still remember racing for the money to buy better tyres to my Miata, and the joy of winning my first race car, it was the DTM Mercedes and I won it through a Mercedes-only cup.

But if you played GT3 you know that you could get seriously rich towards the end of the game, and that the prize cars were great and valuable. And you must agree that what PD (or Sony, not sure what carpet crawlers to blame) totally LOST IT from GT3 to GT6.

GT4 was less well balanced than GT3 - we started too rich, winning up to 3 cars with every license, but the progression stalled a bit at some point. Then again, GT4 had the Suzuka 8 hours giving a LMP car per win (Nissan IIRC) , and most importantly GT4 had B-SPEC. I always despised B-Spec, but I sure made it grind for me during the night. New car in the morning, sell, get money. It was a cheap solution but it worked.

GT5 started out as a nightmare, and turned out to be even worse than GT4 about game progression and the "need to grind" - Again, we had to cover uncharted territory, this was the first online Gran Turismo. Again, terribly balanced game progression, too many cars at the start, too short in cash to really progress. I still laugh with friends remembering the stupid things we did, like trying to get our GTR Nissans impaled by a wall in SSR-7, so we could go under a bridge spend 10 minutes doing donuts. Or using a friend with Jay Leno´s tank car to smash us all and our precious X2010 cars into another crack in the Nurburgring's wall, then going below the paddock area and do circles behind the pits and S/F line  Grown up men acting like kids I tell ya.
But hey ... PD understood the message and solved the cronic lack of funds by being generous with the seasonal's prizes

Now, GT6 ... same old, same old, but worse. We are again starving for money when playing, even the seasonals give out very litle, online prize for winning a race is a joke, the truly lovable cars cost MILLIONS, the prize cars are nothing like the real thing, so we are stuck? No, now we aren't, because they SELL game money to us. Sorry, people that read the Hunger Games will understand me, but I think Sony is probably run by President Snow. And I don't like the way he planned these games to be played.

So (and this to PD), bring back the GT3 sound logic of game progression, one game that felt both demanding AND rewarding. If you don't want to, then take out of the game 1000 cars and offer them as payable download. It would be more honest than this.

I did this last night and first had issues updating back to 1.01, getting a PSN 80710092 error and then a 80710723 error. Eventually it worked and I got back to 1.01, but it took a few hours.

I do agree with you, I would rather start out small and just enjoy the game as I go rather than jumping ahead like this, as a matter of fact I redeemed my code I got with my preorder but I am not going to download them until later on in the game. ;) I will probably get max credits with ways like this (Or other methods I won't discuss) when I am further up in the game and need the credits as I did in GT5. I don't mind waiting on a Veyron. :)

Frankly, I wonder how on earth they are going to patch this.

Sorry if it's been mentioned but can anyone who downloaded the game from PSN tell me where the GT6 1.01 patch is?

I cannot find it in the Game Data Utility.

Thanks!!

This was the initial plan of Sony for Gran Turismo when they announced the PS3 : a pay-per-car model.
