20 million credits for free!

Just look on the glitch as cosmic karma re-aligning the universe to compensate for Sony/PD's greed!

HAHA!! exactly!
i wasn't ready at all to do the glitch when i've been told about it, really.

but after some hours trying to get a decent amount of money, i found myself using more credits to
get/boost cars than i could earn...money in this game is a real pain
i mean, of course there was some grinding in the past but you were really rewarded with some heavy cash, not anymore
then, when i saw PD wanted to charge me 45 euros for 7 millions in game....that was it!

so now i'm getting enough money to buy cars to have fun with my friends without having to waste hours racing vs IA/alone to get some pocket money.

Again, I counted the hours. 24 hrs a day for 633 days. Almost two years. I want to go online and have a selection of cars to race in any event the host may pick. Don't have time to grind.

Didn't think of doing the actual math yet, but that's immense...

What I did, since I have both the disc and digital version a 250 and 750 gb hdd. Which takes 3 min 30 secs. to buy sell and buy. I have the spare 250 hdd with the digital at 1.01. Then played on my 2nd account to get to the M4.

^ devs are making these games a grind instead of fun. Just hope they don't do dlc like Turn 10. You buy then still have to use in game credits.

Lol that won't matter to us anymore though with the glitch an all?

That's the beauty of this glitch, we can amass enough money to see us through to GT7 including mods and the extra DLC in the pipeline.

We're still pedalling in a circle I see. Bravo. I realise the thread is long but that should be some sort of indication that anything anyone wants to say in it now has already been said at least a dozen times before.

then close that thread....

Someone in another thread came up with the number 1,200,000,000 or thereabouts.

Doing the math on that it came to around $8,500 US.

Well I just brought 166 M4's a calculated wealth of 3,320,000,000 in game credits.
Sold 31 of them to build my car collection to over 350 cars (no I didn't upgrade them ALL! But I did upgrage A LOT OF THEM!).
Sold 134 M4's in exchange for 134 Ford GT40's as future deposit on any cars i want to by and or upgrade.
And sold the last M4 to return to 1.01 with 20M in my pocket.

All in all considering I won the M4 i started all this with I'd have to say that was a damned good investment!

May as well throw in my 2 cents on this -

I am really torn to do this glitch, as I am always the person who gets busted for cheating (on anything in life) and I don't like to take shortcuts early in the game. I thought the anniversary cars were a good enough gift, but 20 million credits once or twice should be enough cars to keep me busy for a while. :)

I think of this glitch as a gift to all of the peeps that are die-hard fans and purchased the game early in its release, because I'm absolutely certain it will be fixed as more games are printed (if I'm correct, the first run discs are the reason we can do this). There's no way Sony will allow this to continue in light of their cash for credits scheme. In the meantime all of the original discs that have version 1.00 might be worth something someday, but I'm not savvy enough in the video game world to really know if this will be true.

Plus we'll all buy proper DLC anyway. Tracks and Cars are fair game. This glitch just destroyed micro-transactions!
Absolutely! I've no problem with paying for additional content (providing it interests me, I bought every piece of DLC for GT 5) but micro transactions need to disappear FAST as they are simply a means of holding players to ransom and, worse in my book, distort gameplay progression.

I think this estimate is way off. According to GT5 Matrix the total cost of all cars in GT5 is somewhere between 500 and 550 million credits. GT6 added only about 120 new cars compared to GT5 and many high-value cars got a great price reduction.

By the way, what is the name of that thread so I can read it?

I believe that calculation was made based on car prices from 1.00. I remember reading it too but sorry I can't remember the name myself.

"Exploiting any issue/environment, not intended to be accessible, to give oneself an unfair advantage in online play."

Buying in game cars with the glitch doesn't give anyone an unfair advantage in online play, that term does not apply & therefore your argument does not hold up.

I'll try to do it one last time tomorrow. I "only" have 70 Ferraris GTO ^^ And since I need to buy and tune some cars and this glitch is still available I'll do it in 1.0.

And you'll never use all those credits in the whole of this game's life, so... what a waste of time :D
I've done this glitch three times with the Merc and I'm pretty sure I have enough credits to get me to the end of the game

lol I know how you feel. I can say I'm the same. In school when all the students used to swear like crazy for years and years nobody would bat an eyelid, once I said the f word and I had to go to the principles office and was warned of being suspend. Ludicrous stuff.

In GT5 I didn't use a single exploit or cheat my savefile even when I knew the savefile hack was there. I wanted to play the game and keep my save clean and legit. In the end it was all for nothing. Wasted hours of life.
I also had all the chrome and stealth cars and bummed they are all free in GT6.

If I do this, will I lose my 15 Anniversary cars, paints and suits? Will I be able to get them all back?
??

Next time read the FAQ.

Q13: I have deleted update v1.01 and now is there a yellow exclamation point next to my Anniversary Edition vehicles and will not allow me to access them!
A: There is an issue with v1.00 recognizing the Anniversary Edition vehicles after deleting the v1.01 update. No worries, you still have the download rights to the content. Simply go to the PSN store and re-download the Anniversary Edition content.

Why do people think they will be punished for doing this glitch? I guess it could be possible but it seems like a bad idea. This is one of the few games that still keeps people divided between xbox and PS ever since GTA went to all consoles. Sony could lose a lot of money if they annoyed enough people by attacking their fans that purchased GT6. If that pushed enough people to xbox, that could be a problem. Also, by going after this glitch, they'd indirectly be going at IGN who exposed the glitch. Also, probably not a good idea to take on possibly the biggest gamer site in the USA. I'm sure they're upset about the glitch but they had to realize that no one would spend that much money on credits. There is nothing micro about them. I would've expected 20 million for maybe 7 dollars or something, probably even 5. They're nuts with their current pricing, especially considering the chassis rebuild bug. The speed that this glitch came out almost tells me that it was an inside job anyway. Someone that works at PD has some morals I guess and may have saved the game. I'm guessing thousands of people would've quickly stopped playing killing any chance of them buying DLC. Very few people over the age of 22 have the time to grind out credits the way this game expects you to and anyone that thinks the economy of GT6 is okay has way more free time than the average adult.

Oh, is that all? Well seeing as 24 hours a day for 633 days is impossible, let's downgrade that estimate to a figure more realistic. Let's propose 12 hours a day for 1266 days. That equates to approximately 3.5 years. Just in time for PD's next iteration! Oh what fun it will be to grind that out. NOT!

I guess it depends on how you define unfair advantage. In fact it depends on how SONY/PD define an unfair advantage.

Also that's just from the PSN terms, I haven't and can't be bother to read the general PS3 and game agreements, but they possibly have similar clauses. It's pretty moot though, as commercially it would be pretty foolish, and in my opinion it being published on the official PS magazine website is also a clear indicator, and possibly implies that such use of the glitch is authorised, making it either not a glitch, or allowable usage of the software.

Man, i just did this glitch. Made enough money for me to enjoy the game.
Im glad this glitch exists.

I wouldve had to grind endlessly for months in order to get mycars. Andits impossible if you have a life, job and family.
Grinding and microtransactions....Thats not what a video game should be about. It makes the game boring real quick.
Now, on to more important things,......like racing.

Thanks to the op. i appreciate it.

To buy one (1) 20, 000, 000 dollar car, grinding like the wind route x, it would take you 34 hours grinding. And thats with a car that can get around in 4:15.

Other numbers:427 races
9540 miles
27 chassis repairs

^I agree. Although I haven't used the glitch yet as I'm against using exploits like that to gain easy money in a game, I can fully understand (first time ever) that people are using it.

Payouts are clearly kept low to encourage people purchasing credits, which is an absolute outrage. Yesterday for example, I won the online 70 minute Matterhorn endurance (see GT6 online section) and got a whopping 18k credits for that... :irked:
So I'm facing a moral dilemma right now. Using the glitch or not to get some more cars I'm interested in...

I was considering not using the glitch until I found out what the payments were for the higher-level races (I just downloaded the game yesterday, finished at 1:00 aam, played 3 races then went to sleep) but after reading this, Moneyland here I come.

Next time read the FAQ.

Actually If you have downloaded ver 1.01 before playing GT6 , creating the standard game save then downloading the AE cars creates a separate file for the AE cars as long as you don't delete that from you XMB all is good to go

I don't really want to do this, I feel like I want to 100% the game in a legit way, and I won't 100% GT6 before it gets patched.

This is nice for a lot of people though.
