Chevrolet's replacement for the Cavaliar, comes with either a 140hp 2.2L I4 (LS/LT), 170hp 2.4L I4 (SS), or 200hp Supercharged 2.0L I4 (Supercharged SS).

I find the styling to be quite crap. It really reminds me too much of the new Mazda3.

Couple looks alot better, too bad these are FWD. Need to bring back RWD in these small cars.

Edit: Looks like the Toyota XRS the coupe that is, same color too maybe?

The Cavalier was the worst domestic car ever. (yes, I remember the Cadillac Cimarron) I'm ready to say that this thing is even worse. If this thing doesn't leap over the Corolla and make up for all the Cavalier's downfalls, then it's just as bad as the car it replaced.

Eh, I think it's ugly as sin, but of course, a bunch of people will buy it for some reason or another, so we're gonna have to deal with seeing it on an everyday basis. Get used to it.

Not every car can be an exquisitely designed performace vehicle. What about all the pople that can only afford cheap cars? The designer should be shot? What an amazingly stupid thing to say.

I didn't mean it in that way, but seriously. There are people who buy cheaper cars, nothing wrong with that. But these people should atleast be given a damn nice car to look at?

milefile, I also didn't state that it shold be a performance vehicle.

For example the Corolla, it's a cheaper car, yet it's an awesome car, in different ways. The Corolla's design is by far better.

I don't see what is so bad about this car. I wouldn't want one, but it's not that bad. It just looks like a Cavalier.

He's twelve or thirteen years old. He thinks everything should look how he wants it and perform to match. Why are you arguing with him? People think they're experts when they say cars in showrooms or car shows are ugly, and he's no different. Pay no mind.

To me it looks like its riding a bit too high and i wouldn't mind that car. It sure is an improvement to the cavalier IMO

I think the SS version is ok, but im not sure about the base model, looks too much like the neon. I agree on the comments about the designers need to be shot are extremely unneccesary. I mean really, because someone doesnt like it they automatically need to be shot?! If that were the case there wouldnt be anyone left on the planet, we would have all been shot for something someone else didnt like. Not every car is designed to look like a sports car. My biggest judgement will come when I find out how much better the car drives, handles and performs. With a supercharged 2 litre it should do pretty well.

What's wrong with 200 HP in such a cheap car? THe coupe looks much better than the four-door version. But why is the ground clearance close to 7 feet? It looks ridiculous. Meh, there must be a reason.

I assume this won't sell for more than $15K.

Consider this an educated guess: base will sell for $13700-$14100, unless they sell a massively decontented version simply to advertise a low price as they do now. I don't expect the latter to happen its first model year, but by 2007 they'll be trying to move them this way - give each dealer one $10000 car, make them advertise the hell out of it and when the cheapskates show up, show them the more profitable "pre-owned" section.

I haven't seen the Cobalt in person, but I hope it will be "at least" comparable to the Hyundai Elantra when it becomes to the interior design. And besides, the coupe looks too much like a Civic-RSX-Corolla mashed up in a Playdoh factory. Same goes with the sedan, it looks like the Corolla fused with Geo Metro sedan. :yuck:

So then don't criticize.

Not seeing a car in person the commenting based on fewer than ten Internet pictures is inexcusable - there's a clause in the AUP against lying, you know - maybe it can finally find some application right here.

WTF?

I don't even know where to begin on you being a jackass right there. Leave the guy alone, he's allowed to comment, internet pictures are about as much as most of us have right now.

Except you weren't commenting on the car, you were criticizing Vanishing Boy's ability to comment on the car.

God only knows what the AUP or lying has to do with any of it though...
