I think it's a bit funny that earlier in the season, Da Matta complained that Toyota's car needed more downforce. But Toyota kept being defensive and blamed the drivers for not getting the full potential out of the car.
Then Trulli steps in and what does he say?
The car needs more downforce.

I guess the drivers just know nothing about cars.... :P

Hmm, I think they might need to change the gear ratios.

If any of you remember my old rants about Ralf Schumacher, I think of Pizzonia in roughly the same way as I did R.S. back then. Coullthard, in my opinion, would be a MUCH better partner to Webber, apart from the fact that Webber has the same feelings towards Pizzonia that I do, Coulthard could give Webber a wealth of advice from his experience in F1, Webber needs a mentor, he can drive, but I think he needs someone to help him along the way, I think the best person to do that would be an experienced F1 driver.

DC isn't going to be getting a look in at this rate. He may be the most experienced and successful driver on the grid behind the Ferrari duo, but that doesn't count for much when you've had 2 seasons of utter mediocrity, even when the car's come good. I believe DC's days with real F1 teams are over, and perhaps his F1 career altogether.

For Jordan and Minardi's drivers, the Sydney newspaper had "Whoever brings the biggest cheque" as their bets.

Well that's probably true, but I wonder if Briscoe is in for a chance with Minardi, any thoughts?

Minardi are having an 11-driver 4-day test in Misano, Italy, to give them an idea on who's going to drive for them next year. The drivers in the test (10 named) are 2 Australians Will Power and Will Davison, Tiago Monteiro (ex-Champ Car driver), Japanese Formula 3 Champion Roberto Quintarelli, French GT driver Olivier Maximin, Asian F3 driver Enzo Pastor, Renault V6 champion Christian Montanari, Renault V6 drivers Giorgio Mondini and Damien Pasini, plus Euro F3 championship front-runner Robert Kubica. Don't hold your breath for Briscoe though, as I said before, he's likely to be a Jordan driver.

Is Tiago Monteiro Brazilian? Or maybe Portuguese? Isn´t him the guy that runs for Fittipaldi´s team on CART series?

What about Roberto Quintarelli?

Monteiro is Portugese, ex-Fittapaldi-Dingman driver in Champ-Car.

In other news, a possible shootout at Williams is brewing. Anthony Davidson, Antonio Pizzonia, Nick Heidfeld and David Coulthard are all gunning for the second seat alongside Mark Webber. Coulthard is willing to drive on a point-bonus contract, but, as much as I hate it, Pizzonia is favourite to get the drive. Logic says that Coulthard should get the drive, but, in terms of talent, it should be either Davidson or Heidfeld.

Phew, that's a pretty damn big list of drivers. Whoever gets the mindardi seats let's hope it helps spring board their carieer a bit. Personnally I hope DC gets it (the Willaims seat..not Minardi), as I said before it would be good for Webber.

Briscoe looks like accompanying the Toyota motors over to Jordan, assuming Eddie finds someone who wants to pay to put stickers on the car.

Let's go TIAGO!

Not to be biased for him to do as well as he did in Kart 2 seasons ago with a new team it really takes some skill and I think he could be in F1 in the near future.

Any news on who will be driving for the new team?

Just updated the Jordan-Toyota team. Now they need drivers.

Minardi's confirmed the use of last-year's Cosworth engines. Here's to another last-place finish in the Constructor's Cup. (Unless Jordan never gets those engines, or the Red Bull team does worse than the Jaguar team did.)

Williams is going to have a run-off, it seems, to determine the drivers. Heidfeld and Davidson, and then Webber (confirmed) and Pizzonia. (Personally, I'm hoping Heidfeld gets it, he deserves a chance with a top team.)

Holy crap when is Williams going to make up their mind for drivers? Also, I thought it was confirmed that R. Schumacher was staying with Williams...I've been away for quite some time so god only knows what could have happened in my absinthe...i mean absence...

It has been pretty much known for about 6 months that Ralf was leaving Williams for Toyota.

Williams have also nearly made up their minds to sign Pizzonia for 2005, but were hoping to give Davidson and Heidfeld a test to make sure they weren't going to miss anything. Heidfeld's test was pretty inconculsive, mainly due to the weather, and Davidson has contractual issues keeping him out of testing for either Williams or BAR. Something about who has what options on him for 2006, I believe.

It has something to do with BAR wanting to make sure they'll get Davidson back for the 06 season. Williams can't guarantee that because they'll very much be inclined to sign Davidson for 06 if his 05 season performance turned out to be very good.

DC is also almost certain to drive for Red Bull next season. A good move, I think. Not so much for DC... but more so for Klein. I'm sure he (and the red bull team) will learn a lot from what Coulthard has to share.

Albers to be announced as Minardi driver

On Thursday Christijan Albers will be announced as Minardi Formula One driver by the team at a press conference in Amsterdam. The rumours were pretty strong since last week that the Dutchman was about to sign a contract with the team, but the deal will be finally announced on Thursday.

Albers tested with Minardi at the beginning of the month in Misano. A week later he tested with Jordan at Jerez. The press conference, organised by the Italian team, will be held in a hotel in Amsterdam at 13.00 CET.

Pizzonia vs Heidfeldt. Its now a two horse race.

I personally hope for the Pizzaboy, QuickNick never has impressed me, but I admit I cant say he`s bad.
He was after all the hero of the Jordan-team last season, but just not as exciting. :odd:
I guess he will get on with Webber, more than Pizzonia will.
Williams have always nurtured on rivalising between team-mates.

The glory days of Ralph and Montoya are over :guilty:

But then Kimi is a real challenge :mischievous:
