Someone mind telling me who's judging the boxing rounds? I fail to see how China has now somehow managed to grow boxers who can defeat Russia & the U.K.'s best that easy.

Well its not just judges from China if thats what your saying, actually im pretty sure that not one of the judges is from China, they are all world wide IOC approved impartial judges so the scoring is as fair as can be... I guess China has just put an insane amount of effort into training its athletes purely for these Olympics, plus its a home crowd.

Michael Phelps = Greatest Olympian Ever.

He chose the right sport and he's from a "big" country. Competitive swimming is one of the few sports where you can get more than Gold Medal. In many other olympic sports you can only get one medal. There are a few sports where you can get more than one medal, but there's only swimming where you theoretically can get about ten medals. In swimming there are 17 different events. And if you come from a small country you don't have a chance to win the relay events. Even if you are the very best, you will only win the solo events.

Of course it is impressive to win 8 medals, but to be the "Greatest Olympian ever", Phelps has to win at least one Gold Medal in 2012 and 2016. It's one thing to win 10+ medals overall, but to be the best for four Olympic Games is still one step higher.

Then there is the question of Doping. If someone is significantly better than the rest, there will always be the question if the athlete is clean or not.

Does no one else find it odd that Bolt relaxed for the last 20 meters and still broke the world record?

He is either the greatest runner ever to have lived or the greatest cheat...

He isn't the greatest runner ever, but he sure is the best sprinter ever. It's all about his height. He completes the race in 5-7 fewer strides than everyone else. If there was a 7'2" sprinter who could move his legs as fast as his competition, he would blow them away by an even larger margin.

That said, I wonder how Usain would fare in the longer races.

He used to be 200m but then switched to 100m and we all know how that turned out for him. But seeing him in a longer distance race would be interesting.

By long races I'm talking about 400 and over. He has the height and the speed, but I don't know about his strength.

400m would be interesting, though. He almost runs a full 400 if you count his victory lap.

The pictures of Michael Phelps' teeth kind of scare me. Big wolf fangs. I believe Phelps is clean. If Phelps somehow fail any pending drug tests, would your opinions of Phelps change?

There used to be an African guy at my school, he was about 6'7" or so at 16. He was an incredible sprinter, mostly at 200 and 400m. At inter-school athletic events he'd set off at the same speed as everyone else, or perhaps slightly behind, then for the last 100-150m he'd just switch to another gear and just totally leave everyone else standing. He was a great long jumper too, but his best event was the high jump, at 16 he could jump over 2m 10cm, which at the time was higher than the women's world record. I've looked for his name at the Olympics ever since (i don't remember what his home nation was) but never seen it, he'll be in his late 30's now so i guess it will never be.

He's not really built or has trained to run anything longer than 200m. He could at a stretch probably manage 400m i guess.

Even if he is not clean, he is at least smart enough to use drugs the current tests can find. Only idiots get caught. So we'll never know.

Did anyone see the German girl gymnast? That was so NOT a FEMALE

She is not German. She only started for Germany because we cured her child from cancer and paid the treatment. The other girl who won Gold landed with both feet ouside the landing zone by the way...

I saw that Swedish athlete Susanna Kallur fall and DNF in the hurdles today, man that looked painful and shes like the champion!

Damn she fell? I wanted her to win just based on her hotness.

I mean look at her!

Tell me bout it!.. Swedish Hotness!

It was pretty harsh though to mess up at the first hurdle though.. and then she cried.. as with all athletes who have waited 4 years!

EDIT- Pic..

Hahaha, the Germans got pulverized like it was 1944 by the US.....basketball team
That was sad to watch. Dirt Nowitzki did nothing to that offense.

Tomorrow's mens football semifinal: Argentina-Brazil. Epic game to watch!

I was watching Baseball... ugh. It was America vs China. 9-0 in the 9th, China got a homerun, he did a celebration around all the bases, and then stomped on homeplate.

Yeah alright China, good for you China... good for you...

They just showed the race where Kallur fell, that did look pretty hard. I think I'm pulling for Lolo Jones to take it all though since she's quite a looker as well. I think this is the best way to pick who I want to win :D.

He's amazingly fast, I don't really agree with his showboating but I really can't blame the guy since he's significantly faster then everyone else.

In fairness you are the only country who cares about it / has it as their primary national sport.

I know... but the guy could've acted in a more mature manner. I guess I "worded" it wrong. Opps.

edit: Bolt's 200m run was more like a jog. :scared:

It's actually pretty damn big in Japan and Korea. I only say because I once said that no-one plays Ice Hockey outside of North America and a huge smack down off the scandinavian members (Juuso went nuts  ).

Tomorrow night may be my highlight of the Olympics. First thing I'm actually going to dedicate my time to sit down and watch.

Basketball: Australia vs USA

Get on it.

Team GB looking fairly strong at the moment with 15 Golds esspecially as we have only half the atheletes of both China and the USA but most of our good events over I can only see 1 more Gold from us and I recon that is going to come boxing.

China looks extremely strong I thought they would slow down on the medals after the first few days but they carried on strong and dominating the USA. The USA now have the track events too look forward to and area where China looks very weak but the US aren't looking to great in the field events themselves.

China really benifiting from the home advantage it seems.

Make that 16. :)

We just won the 400m Women's running final, which was quite unexpected...
