I much prefer this design to the other prototype. Looking very good actually, i like the softer lines and the back in particular.

Here is some news on what would be the spiritual successor to the Supra, the Lexus LF-A:

Leftlanenews.com
Toyota will put its stunning LF-A supercar concept into production in late 2008, according to a report from Tokyo cited by Edmunds. The car is expected to include a front-mounted V10 engine with over 500 horsepower. The car will sell for $170,000 and will underscore Toyota's new F1 connection. The car will go head-to-head with the 2008/2009 Acura NSX, the report says. Recently, we cited a Road and Track report that confirmed Lexus had approved the supercar project.

Will the performance be worth the price?

To me, that rear-end smacks so much of an S2000 it's not funny. :indiff:

Also, in the very last pic, even I can make out 'V6' and '300'. So, that's a 300ps, V6 powered S2000/Fiat Barchetta (headlights) look alike. :dunce: :guilty:

It's still just a concept. I personally hope they don't ugly up the next Supra much like how Chevy did the C6 in comparison to the C5 (of course, my own personal opinion). Toyota will have to go for a beautifully aggressive design up front. Not something like the Abflug Toyota Supra which had all sorts of vents along the four dimensions of the vehicle (picture here: http://www.toyota-supra.info/albums/latest_pics/2001_toyota_supra_abflug_s900_01.sized.jpg ). I would actually put more curves in more places with this current conceptual design. Make the design flow better and have some curves. Or do like Dodge did with the latest Viper hardtop. Make an evolution of the car that doesn't look completely outlandish.

According to Road & Track Magazine, this bad boy MAY come out around October 2007. Either this car or the Lexus supercar being planned.

not even official, pure speculation! love the modded lambo wheels and f430 lights on it tho =P toyota is very good at keeping things internal so dont expect anything until its from toyotas mouth.

Well, even if the pics are pure speculation, they still look pretty good. However, the car looks cheap overall. Its kinda hard to explain, but it looks more like an S2000 or 350Z compeditor than something that can go toe-to-toe with a Corvette or Cayman.

What is this car's competition? What SHOULD be this car's competiton? I'm talking about the Supra.

M3, Corvette, 911, GT-R, the NSX successor....(insert sportscar here)

Pretty much everything it was a competitor for back in the '90's.

It looks good, but yeah it's in it's early stages of concept form. Lots of changes, hopefully good, will be happening.
