Needless to say, I'm impressed. I didn't think it was possible. Wow.

Not saying I can do it, but I'll have to try for it, anyway. I think I already did an oil change on my carbon black 787B, but I could try with more ballast. Darn. With R1s, I guess it should outlast all the other cars in tire wear.

Sadly you don't outlast the other cars, the Peugeot 905 only pits once, i lost the race 2 or 3 times because of this, in the end i spun him out so i could get a bit of a lead.

I had to pit twice on laps 33 and 66 and for the last few laps the tyres are red, but i didn't have time for another pit stop.

At last, I have aquired the last 200 points that had alluded (sp?) me so far in the Lightweight K Cup, I continued using the Midget II and eventually got a beatable line up. A las I did have to cut about 4 corners, including the last hairpin...and y'know what? Don't lecture me lol, I'd about had enough of trying to win fairly...and unfairly was a narrow win anyway

You must be really persistent after losing twice. I'm usually not worried about the 905 since it usually is so darn slow, but I'll look out for it (hard to believe it's that gentle on tires). I guess it would be better for me to use less ballast to start with if I'm going to have to make the tires last. I guess it will be a very, very close race.

I'm in the 23rd hour of my Sarthe II for 200 A-spec points which was so easy that I knew I had won by the first tire change. I can hardly wait to get to this Oval Speedway gig. Thank you for the tips. I hope I can do them justice.

I tried using the carbon black 787B with tar for oil and I still couldn't hang with the competition at 200 A-spec points. I think I'm in a bit over my head and will have to settle for less points. My ballast had to be a lot higher than 80 lbs even using R1s, so something was off there. Even with all aids turned off and some long gearing, I just couldn't keep up. I got lapped twice before the first tire change, so I knew there was little hope of a victory. I don't have time to experiment, so I'll tip my hat to you and accept my defeat.

Alas, not all races will be clean if you're going for 200:guilty: . Well done ! 👍

Don't worry about underhand tactics, i had to use quite a few myself. My most memorable was in the the 1000 mile race at Nurburgring. When my main competitor was ready to pit i rammed him past the pit lane, forcing him to do a full lap on red tyres :)

Glad I'm not the only one...I'll admit I've used a fair few so far...such as Leguna Seca in Stars and Strips...one corner to go...a second down...put the Buicks Nitros on full to get enough power to just nudge the Z06 into a sandy spin...*cough*...it was that or try again for the 10th time lol, I then learnt the value of getting the faster cars in 4th/5th in that series.

But I justify my rammings by bringing up the point that the computer seems to do it enough to me...why not us get revenge eh? See until they bring in penalties or flags, ramming will be an obvious tactic, and until the AI is improved or a grudge system is brought in...a revenge tactic. *nod*

*cowers* please don't flame me for saying that :scared:

Anyways...working on putting a few miles on my DB7 Vantage to try 200 the Aston races. Only 700 more miles to go

edit - Ok...is there some kind of difference between versions of this game in terms of A-Spec points or something? I have my Opera Performance S2000 set up how it should be for the 200pts on The Ring...yet no matter what line up I'm against (and I've tried 15 now) I get no more then 154 points x.x same trouble I had finding 200 on the other 24 hour races with something competative.

Finaly, I found some inspiration for those long races left for 200pts...

Last night I did El Capitan - 200 miles with Lotus Elise 111R
Sport Hard Tyres, Racing Exh. Transmission and Drivetrain all, Engine balancing, Port polish, Weight Reduction 3 -- 214HP against first lineup:

Mercedes SL65 AMG '04
TVR Cerbera Speed Six '97
TVR T350C '03
Lotus Motor Sport Elise '99
Shelby Series 1 SC '03

for easy 200 pts with best lap time 1:53,7
I did the pits every 11 or 12 laps...

P.S. AI sucks pretty much on El Capitan....

Here is another one...
New York - 200 miles - 200pts

Again with Lotus Elise 111R (brilliant car!!! Very fun to drive... )
Racing exhaust, Chip, Sport Hard tyres, Stage 2 Turbo, Racing suspension, Tranny All, 25kg Ballast -- 269HP against:

Lotus Espirit Sport 350 '00
Lotus Motor Sport Elise '99
Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R '00
Mercedes SL 65 AMG '04
Pagani Zonda C12 '00

Pit: every 19 laps
Best Lap: 1:44,837

for comfortable win with 40 sec margin before Zonda...

This is what I have in my documents. It's basicly what I fount in this thread up to post cca 1000 ...

World Classic Car Series :
VW Karmann Ghia (N2/N3, NA stage 1) – 200

I am using the Skyline Sports Coupe BLRA-3 (what a lovely looking car). 94bhp ie stock hp, I have added some susp & tranny upgrades + NOS set at 75, ASM/TCS off, N1 & N3 tyres + 25 ballast. I dropped the susp right down at the front and back, but kept the back a little higher. Shortened the tranny to 3 but then lengthened 6th gear for long downhill parts ie top speed.

That gives me 200pts verses Line up #8 after reset ie, another Sports Coupe, Skyline 1500 deluxe, Elan, 2000GT and Ginetta.

It looks like you got the same line up as i did here is what i used.
Used Honda S600 stage 2 tune race exhaust S2 tyres 197 ballast.
You could probably swap the S2 tyres for N1 and get quite a bit more power out of this car which will probably make it a fair bit easier.

Honda S600 with no oil change,stage 2 tune,race exhaust,S2 tyres
197 ballast, nos set to max, full transmission, suspension, brakes.
Line up number 8 (PAL)
Skyline sport coupe
Skyline 1500 Deluxe
Lotus Elan
Toyota 2000GT
Ginetta G4

Honda S600 @ 75HP (Oil Change + Racing Exhaust + Racing Chip + Stage 1 NA Tuning) with S1 Front / S3 Rear + All other parts available + Nitrous
____________________________________________________________

Q1:
For more points you can add ballast, use N3, N2, N1 tyres, wear the engine so it can drop power even more (for max. power drop you have to wear the engine for up to 15000km while reving in red... Ideal for B-Spec on Test course on time x3... still very time consuming)

Thx Fizio, will give this a try soon.

Currently trying DTM Opera for 16 points to get to 200.
Will let you know how it goes wrt the Classics.

Q2:

This stupid VW Karman Ghia on Nurb in European Classic Car
Championship was the hardest 200 pts i have ever driven...

Line up was:

1. VW Carman Ghia
2. Mini Marcos GT
3. Alfa Giulia Sprint Speciale
4. Alfa Spider 1600 Duetto
5. Mercedes 300SL Coupe
6. Me

I Used VW Carman Ghia
61HP (NA1, Racing Exhaust, Chip, N2/N2, NOS(100), DT/SP All,
Balast 135 -> F/R -20)

Prof Events - Classic cars.
Lineup (8-10) or so
Nissan silvia CSP311 '65
AR Spider 1600 Duetto
Skyline Sport Coupe BLRA-3 '62
Marcos GT '70
Honda S800 '66

1 Qualified for Fuji 80 with S2, NA1, RC exhaust, Old oil, 002, TR clutch, RC flywheel, FC tranny (auto 3).
Started the race and got 137 points, a bit disappointing.

2 El Cap already had 200 in earlier attempt.
3 Nurb, didnt qualify and dont know the track 0 points

4 & 5 Decided to qualify for Monaco and Seca and threw out the NA1 and RC exhaust and loaded 200 weight.
Lo and behold 200 points offered and 200 bagged twice.
Must try Fuji again tomorrow for the remaining 63 points and see if I can qualify for Nurb as well and perhaps bag 200 there.

All in all quite easy races.

Thx for the tips Fizio. 👍

I'm not in the league of those other guys. I'll get 100,000 but so far I'm only around 70,000 with many, many races to go. I don't keep records so I can't remember what cars I use in most cases.

I'm going through the endurance races now and have gotten 200 points for all except Speedway 150 (10 points) and Tsukuba 4 hours (88 points). Well, I didn't finish the Sarthe I 24 hours yet, but I should make the 200 points easy. I just want to get those enduros out of the way to work on all those tiny manufacturer races. I can use the cheat sheets that a few of the dedicated guys made up to win the smaller races.

Due to current family restraints I just don't have the time to constantly race like I used to so my whole determination mindset is messed up.

Any suggestions wrt the 3 questions I put in there.

Thx 👍

AMG.

For the Euro Classic Cars I used the Karmann Ghia: all susp/dt upgrades; 35 ballast; racing muffler; chip; NA1; NOS; S1/S3 - no idea about the lineup (probably no merc or cobra) but I don't remember it being too difficult.

For the legend of the silver arrow I used the 190E - took a lot of tries - I think the SLR must start in 5th - R1/R2; NOS; all susp/dt upgrades; 85-150 ballast; racing muffler. The 'Ring is super hard - lots of blocking from memory (it was a long time ago) and I think I was very relieved when I finished. At one stage I thought 200 for this series was impossible - thakes a lot of perseverence.

For the SL Challenge I used the SL300 - my notes are not good here - again, another difficult series from memory but doable.

Thx Moloch_horridus, will give your suggestions a try as well. 👍
Much appreciated! Strange how some races at first seem impossible (e.g Speedster) and races you think will be easy/ier turn out to be real pita.

Grand Valey 300km - 200 pts

Another easy 200pts race with fully upgraded Suzuki GSX-R/4 with R1 tyres for more than comfortable win with 2 min margin and best lap set to 1:50,953.

This car seems to be a killer for JGTC, DTM class on any race or 200 pts...

World Compact Series in Professional.
I got my 200 points using the Cup Of Coffee, (Cappiccino 1991 model).
Its RWD so I can get the benifit of better tires on the drive wheels.
On line up 1 & 2, I used 88 bhp, 177 units ballast, N2 (luxury) front and N3 (road) on the back, with 51 units of Nos.
Fitted to the car was a race gearbox, clutch and flywheel semi racing & semi racing Suspension and racing brakes. All aids turned off.

Line up 1 & 2: Opel 2 door thingy, Opel Corsa, VW Polo, VW Lupo, & a Pug 206.

I don't know if someone has said this one yet but I don't really want to read 60 something pages :nervous: but the 1989 Skyline Type M (with oil change, N3 tires and 66 ballast) gets 200 points on the FR races, although you need a bit of help from the AI lineup.

Failed to win Super Speedway 150 miles for 200 pts twice today... :nervous:

I used as Ank said Mazda 787B, used (no oil change), R1, 90kg ballast...

First time I tried to go in pits only once but it turned out that i was loosing too much time on bad tyres... Peugeot 907 went in the pits 2 times...

On secont atempt I went in the pit twice and race was progressing wery well. Around lap 90 I was 2nd, one lap behind 907 and waiting for him to go in the pit... But it turns out he didn't go at all....:ouch: :ouch:

So probably tomorow I have to try some lineup with out 907... It's pretty hard to cope with his pit schedual...

I tried looking for another lineup because of the Peugeot but couldn't find anything suitable. In the end i just spun him out and cruised to a comfortable victory.

Lost again twice today...

I tried to spin him today but I can't gain 1 lap advantage of it...:ouch:

Super Speedway 150 miles => 200 pts

Finaly Victory today....!!! :)

Oposition was:

Peugeot 905 ( pits onse on lap 50)
Nissan R89C Race Car ( pits 3 times on laps 30,60,90)
Nissan R92CP Race Car ( pits 3 times on laps 30,60,90)
Sauber Mercedes C9 Race Car ( pits 3 times on laps 32,64,96)
Audi R8 Race Car ( pits twice on laps 36,72)

I was driving Mazda 787B, used (no oil change) =>725HP, R1 tyres, 90kg ballast, Transmission set to 14... (Don't forget to buy Rigidity and Body refresher like I did for first 2 times. It makes whole diference)
Pit: Lap 34, 68

When race started I was begining to catch them. When I came to Peugeot I smacked him in to the wall so he spun. Continued my race using draft with others when possible. At the lap 50 stupid Peugeot missed the pits and left standing there for 2 or 3 laps ( AI ???) ...:) When I saw that happening I knew I was going to win. About racing lines, smaller corner was wallriding all the time and bigger one was regular for first 20-25 laps of the tyre set untill tyres holds and then again wallriding until pit...:)

All in all the race is stupid and boring. But 200 pts is 200 pts...:)

Super Speedway 150 miles => 200 pts
Finaly Victory today....!!! :)
Woah, well done and thx for the Write up. 👍
Assume you did refresh before rigidity.

AMG.

Just finished Super speedway on Formula GT Series too so I don't have to drive that borring track ever again...for a total count of 106K :)

This one was piece of cake. (I'm sure this one is the easyest in FGT)
Used same Mazda as on Endurance just added Stage 4 turbo. Laped them by 4 laps pitting on lap 32,64,96 of 127 lap race...
