They do - once. If you get 200pts on one circuit, it counts as having 200pts for all the circuits involved in the Family Cup. Which means you only have to do one race on one track for the 200pts - thank goodness. El Capitan is a good place to earn the 200 IMO.

Yes, El Capitan is the best track to do this - the AI is crappy on it, and it is one of the most fun circuits in GT4.

But what about Arcade-mode races? They don't, I think.

Nurburgring 4 Hours Endurance - 200 pts

Lotus Elise 111R
with Sport Exhaust, Chip, Tranny All (Auto 12), Brakes All, Suspension All, Wing, Stiffnes, 200kg ballast, N1/N3 --> 204 hp

Lineup:
1. Clio Sport V6 Phase 2
2. Mazda RX-8 Type S
3. Chevrolet Corvette GRAND SPORT (C4)
4. BMW M3
5. BMW M Coupe
6. Lotus Elise 111R

I started on N1/N3 untill first pit on lap 7, then switch to N3/N3 and pit on laps 12, 17, 22, 26. I completed 29 laps with hace time 4:02'07,044 and the best lap 8'01,569 with almost 2 minutes margin even with few major spin outs... This race requires no under belt moves, it's pure racing and alot of fun...

110K looks nice too... :)
9 more to go...

You're getting there Fizio.👍 And thx for the 144 points!

I recently ran Nurb 4 hrs clean with the GSX R started on n1 + 28 weight and switched on lap 2 to N3s. The clio seemed at first to be the main comp but it turned out to be the M3. Not a very hard race at all.
(lineup 3? .....Skyline xxx, M3, Clio, M Coupe, AR 147GTA)

Wrt Fam Cup the quickest (and dirtiest way) is Fuji 90 with the Ram, just cut the chicane and bag 200 points. That was by far the easiest 200 "race" for me.
Yes Fam cup only requires 1 race and Arcade mode doesn't count for Aspec total.

I just ran the Laguna 90 lap race for 199pts with the gsx/r4. Ran on superhards all the way, 23 laps a set. I'm really starting to dislike Saleens. I won by maybe 25 to 27 seconds.

Couldn't you add few kilos of ballast for 200??

I've had the same problem - did the El Capitan endurance for 194 points on an un-ballasted RUF 3400S. Now that I think of it, it was stupid of me not to add that little 30KG of ballast.

Try it again with the Suzuki GSX-R/4 on S2's and no HP mods (or maybe a racing exhaust, I forget). I won by a lap and a half for 200 pts.

I also did Laguna Seca, same car except on R2's. The field included the Saleen and Ford GT. Just over a minute MOV, 200 pts.

Interesting suggestion. I never drove the GSX-R/4 before, but I've heard about the wonders it does for 200-point racers. I guess it's the opposite of the Dodge Ram - lightweight, low-powered, but extremely nimble and quick. Unlike the Ram which simply plows it's way through raw power.

I'm surprised to see that folks can run a race for 199 or 194 and not add a bit of weight or 'crappier' (starting-) tyres for 200. Especially on long races. The difference is neglibile. If the gap is bigger e.g. 175-200 I understand. With my crappy skills that can be a big gap to bridge.

Question:
Maxxing out the Sub 360 doesnt seem as straightforward as nige and I think. I installed FC tranny T2 turbo RC exhaust and RC susp.
After 7000 miles, that's 46 real life hours of running the PS2 (set to speed 3x), found out that tranny was set to 1 (default) so I am now runnning the remaining 2000 miles at tranny autoset 2 which gives an increase of approx 7-8 miles an hour. Just ran the race at 7000 miles but was offered a measly 3 additional points (130->133), max is 144.

What am I missing on this one?? As always help very much appreciated!

Breaking the Megane and the Saleen was easy, and so was the 2CV after applying Fizio's help.

I know, I wasn't aiming for 200 points... I just noticed the points when I won.

My Subaru 360 has 12779 km on the clock...

Setup A --> Wearing out:
Racing Exhaust, Chip, N3 Tyres, Stage 2 turbo, and all other brakes, tranny, suspension upgrades. 41HP. Tranny is set to 7 (5th gear - 0.948, Final 3.421). It's top speed is 137km/h. B-spec on Test track and set pace to 5...

Setup B --> Race:
N1/N3 Tyres,NOS (100), 200kg ballat and all other brakes, tranny, suspension upgrades. 14HP. Tranny is set to 3. => 144pts

For a few of the races (Suzuki Concept and the GTI Cup) it is possible to get 196/194 on N2s. 200 requires N1s which is a whole new can of worms, I found that a little more power or a little less weight did not make up for the loss of traction. Perhaps I should give these another go but I am just not motivated enough. Tourist Trophy for 190 is another.

Sure I fully agree that for some races it can make a huge difference. I meant to say for some 'easier' races as the one mentioned a couple of posts earlier that I was surprised. However Gingiba explained why that happened. The Suz Concepts is a major pita.

Fizio, thx again the Suby is now running your settings and I'll check in the morning to see how it has progressed. What I can't figure out is how do you find those settings wrt wearing out the cars??

I finally managed to get the Nissan Z races out of the way. The R246 was haunting me. Only 122 points there and all the others 200.
After getting in to the groove of this track again I managed 122 ->150 ->153.
Finally found a lineup with all variations of the 300zx and 1 350Z and I was able to progress from 153 -> 189 -> 200.
:)

What I can't figure out is how do you find those settings wrt wearing out the cars??

In fact it's quite simple...
Put on all removable power upgrades, tranny, suspension etc...
Go to Test track in A-spec and set the tranny so the car when running at max speed revs just before the blocade... It's about 400-450 rpm over the begining of red line (assuming that most of the cars can usualy rev 500 rpm above the start of red area). That ensures that even after some time due to power loss revs will still be in red zone... When your settings are set switch to B-spec and set pace to 5. You can then check if the top speed in B-spec matches the top speed in A-spec tested earlier. Set time x3...

You can do the same without power upgrades if money is critical, but with all power upgrades the car will obviously go faster and finish the milage sooner...
With these settings 9000miles / 15000 km is enough to wear out any car to the max...

Aah, so that's the 'secret'. Thx for explaining that.
Load up with power and then Redlining is set by playing around with the tranny.
Was there a particular reason for switching the tyres on the Suby ? On the saleen you kept the S2 but on the Sub you Switched to N-tyres.

I would guess :scared: that tyres and suspension don't really factor in to this. Test track doesnt really need ' better/ worse' tyres and or racing suspension to get 9000 miles on the car.
I do buy them for the race itself.

No money isn't the object. Ive got 50 million to play around with.

Thx again Fizio for your patience and explanation!👍

AMG.

No tyres doesnt matter... I just rewrote my settings screen...
But when maxing out for example Saleen that will go over 300 km/h it can't handle tuning those two bands on N? tyres...
For slower cars it really doesn't matter...

I had already ran the race for 200 pts previously and lost by a mere 17 seconds. I think my hands were cramping up, I was upshifting by accident n such. I have tried it with the r'2's and r'3's and quite honestly just couldn't make it through 90 laps in the lead.

I played with the power/weight/tires to the point I just got tired of it. I ttried the superhards and found I could get 23 laps out of them or better and keep up with the other cars. The ford gt wasn't really of any concern, it chews up tires pretty bad, the saleen however stays out over 20 laps if I remember correctly, and was quite quick.

I will probably reset it one day without the saleen, just the ford gt, and got for 200, but I honestly don't expect to get all of the 200 pointers, I just don't see me doing a 24hr Nurb, or Sarthe. I dod have a good time with the race, lap times for me were about the same as the rabbit car, a close race for all 90 laps.

My main comp was the Proto Spirra, I ran the gsxr on R1 Wing 15/30 polish & balance NA2 tune, W1 +111 weight (W1 from days gone by when I couldn't win races) tranny & suspension.
It was quite a battle and a close race between the 2 of us. In the end I think it was a pitstop for the Proto that saved my a$$ as I won by a mere 16 seconds.
Was good fun race though.:)

Sounds very similar to mine. I still have three "stock: gsx/r4's in the garage for later when I hopefully improve. BTW , I use the control pad, so I am slightly challenged in the smoothness area.

All the talk about the 200 points 👍 ...is there a list of cars that obtain 200 points??pls ty..(i looked  everywhere).and what about B-Spec points (bullshi* points) considering, i'm re-doing the races in B-Spec and now on Beginner FF Challenge, why is it that if i use a stock Mitsubishi FTO @ 15o hp, i finish 4th and i got 11 b-spec points, but if i use an Alfa GT 3.2 @ 434 hp and i finish 1st, i get 13 b-spec points??? Iz all a b-spec bull of ,,,,,crapola 👎 bob is @ 8579, mach skill 98, course skill 85 and battle also 85 and yet, the dumb jack still hits the back of the cars 3/4 times, before it tries to pass on the grass...?wt* is that?? I wish b-spec was not in this darn game. I know i don't have to play it, but if it's there.......
This game has more downs that ups:tdown: 👎
But of course, no1 has to agree with me. There are just too many ******* variations/possibilities, to try them all it would take an idio* with nothing better to do, 99999 days to find them all (almost all):D . BTW, why the **** does my Explorer close, almost each time i open another window?? Too many ******* adds ....?Anyone has same problem?? :indiff:

Dude, your post makes my head hurt, and english is my first language. You need to turn it down a tad.

There are multiple posts on reasons for the points given, weight/horsepower, tires, etc. Look in the faq's up top.

BTW, I'm sure if I could run Laguna with sport tires I could up the horsepower for better runs in the straights, but some of the corners really demand smoothness.

If you're talking about Laguna Enduro, ... i just re-run it with the Suzuki SXR-4, came in first, with the Ford gt 1,1/3 lap behind and the Saleen 1,3/4 laps behind, the Shelby 1, Camaro SS and Pontiac Gto followed...
I used R1 front and R2 rear, pit @ lap 30 and 62 :indiff:
BTW, did you take an asspirin? :ouch:

You're starting to sound like a broken record Phonypoly.

Aspec & Bspec
In Post 1445 dated Sept 1 2006 you asked exactly the same questions and those were answered. Now you're ranting again asking the same questions.
May I respectfully ask you to read the Bspec and 200 point races threads first and gain some insights first.

Posting Skills
As to your way of posting. After reading that you do get a headache. I'm sure you could improve on your posting skills by paying some attention as to how others post in this and in other threads.
Reading the AUP may also give you some insights.

Game pleasure
We all know that you don't like this game. May I again suggest you go and find yourself a game that you do like instead of complaining about the crappyness of GT4. I'm sure you'll find something worthy of your time.

Explorer
As to why your Explorer doesn't work, this is the 200 A spec point thread. Please re-post your question in the correct forum.

You've been here for nearly two years. I would expect you would know how this site is organised by now.

How is Subaru 360 making progress?? Did the settings help??

Fizio, it worked like a charm. 👍 I didn't keep an eye on it so it ran from 7200 -> 11000 miles with your settings. And then gave me 144 as expected. :) :)
I'm applying the same 'secret' on the Audi A3 and all other cars that I need to wear out for max points.
I also realise that I'll never reach the 111813 as some races are not worth the aggravation (e.g Suzuki concepts, Miata 4 hours) but I'll sure give it my best to get as close as possible. :)
Maybe in another years time I'll be able to cope with N1s or I may have hacked the game and put on spikes. 💡

Just train on them long enough, it'll "work in" eventually. Take WRS for example - the WRS 72 Qualifier was the first on N-tyres, and I did really bad there. Now, Week 75, on much more powerfull cars, with N-tyres, I can control them pretty good.

I have the ultimate 200pt race's. I hope noone has posted but I don't feel like reading all 78 pages so here goes:

'04 Dodge Ram 1500 LARAME Hemi Quad Cab
Best of all parts (Supercharge or NA)
Use the Tranny trick
*my suspension is raised to the sky for fun*

I raced all of the Hot Rod Series and DESTROYED all competiton. This included a Calloway Vette, a Cobra R, a Z06 Vette and an SRT-10 Viper.

I love my big black truck. His name is Big Earl!!!

Welcome to GTP BigJnWorldWide,

The Ram is a well known glitch in GT4, it amongst a few other cars are really good 200 point earners.

You don't have to read the whole thread as most of us have done but I'd like to point you to the very first post in this thread that will give you most details if you're going to pursue the goal of obtaining max Aspec points.

Enjoy your stay here :)

AMG.

Does anyone in here have experience with the Dodge Laramie in the 4 hour Nurb enduro? I can't seem to keep front tires on it. Other than that I'd say it's doable.
