OMG. I want solid proof of that. Full length videos so no chance of Photoshop images and written oath signed in blood. That is really an amazing feat. Excellent. Incredible. Good job. Wow! Didn't think it would be possible. Yes, Lord nige would be a proper way to address thee.

I stay away from this forum for a couple of days and miss all these feats of superhuman skill.

No proof I'm afraid. Just ask AMG, we've been having a good laugh with the Saleen races today.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NOT NOT NOT NOT

Sorry to bring up this old chestnut again. But I have 133 A-spec points in the 2CV Classic races and have been running and running and running and running it in b-spec on the test track ( tranny set at 1) inorder to get the theoretical max of 134.
Hour after hour after hour! :ill: :ill: :ill: :ill: The car has 20000 miles on the clock yet I STILL can't get the 134. Any ideas? Thanks.

About Saleen guys, wear it out to the max and you'll be able to use N2/N3...
It makes a great difference... With some brakes, tranny, suspension upgrades and few bursts of NOS it should be regular racing...
Saleen setup: Racing Exhaust, N2/N3, NOS(30), 200kg ballast for 504HP

About 2CV, what can I say 134 is the max... I can send you a photo for proof if you like... You are on 133 so a little more and you are there...👍
Obviously you are doing something wrong with engine wearing because 9000miles/15000km is enaugh to wear the engine to the max...
My Citroen has 14 HP and I yust checked it offers 134 pts with N1 + 200kg ballast...
My setup for wearing out 2CV is: Racing Exhaust, Chip, S2 Tyres, Stage 1 turbo, and all other brakes, tranny, suspension upgrades. 48HP. Tranny is set to 7 (5th gear - 0.982, Final 3.870) Don't remember if I was messing with those numbers or they are default values for Auto at 7. It's top speed is 135. Then I put it in B-spec on Test track and set pace to 5...

Cheers Fizio, used your b-spec set up, worked a dream. 134 points in the bag.
What next? Subaru 360 me thinks.

I put over 100,000 km on 3 2CVs trying to wear them out - as far as I know the problem was that they were not running in the red line - major pita.

From memory the Suby is much more straight forward. The only other series I had difficulty with (being offered max points) was the Copen Race - I still have not been offered 166 points in that car.

That was exactly my problem. It's only when you great advice from you guys at GTPlanet do you see where you have been going wrong. My Subaru 360 has only done 6000 miles so I probably have a long way to go!

Any info on Roadster 4h for 200 pts???

route_66, ANK, Slotcarrod...

For you guys I'm sure that you've done it... others???

This could well be the most difficult 200 point race - somehow you have to take the slowest MX5, add 200 kg and put some crappy tyres on. Then you have to somehow get into the lead (using NOS) and stay there for about 34 laps (when the fast one pits). You can then add some decent tyres which should allow you to stay in the lead a bit more easily.

This is almost impossible. I think you will have to find a lineup where the two fast MX5s are in 4th and 5th spot to start and then drive a perfect race for 4 hours. I find it almost impossible to block successfully at Tsukuba and had to settle for 153 points (in a race that did not include the two fast Miatas (1800 RS (NB,J), 1.8 RS (NB,J)) which was fairly easy.

If you go for the 200 be prepared for a few restarts and lots of frustration.

@ Moloch_horridus

Your nearly at max, what are you missing to reach that?
Just out of interest.

I'm just having hard time to get some decent points from Tokyo 300 Endurance. I can see that people have done it using S2000LM or Altezza touring car but I just can't keep up with 500hp monsters. What other cars did you use, did you have to block ?

What race?

BTW, 194 A-spec pointers were earned by me in a 350HP RUF 3400 @ El Capitan 200. Duke managed 200 out of a 340HP one, but I just had some tuning problems. Comfy margin - I had a whole minute, Duke had a whole lap. But that's because I just suck - Botton of Division 3 in the WRS, inconsistent, and addicted to overkill (I just started 200'ers now). I had a couple of spin-outs. Pitting is every 13 laps (Duke only managed 11), 14 laps possible. Pitting is due to worn-out front, not rear. Best lap was 1'54.1, greatest margin was 1'13, fuel only needed once in two pits.
Plus, 200 Points are definetely possible on the Amuse R1 with 320HP (modded upto WRS Week71 specifications). I'm simply not consistent enough with this car - it wears you out when you drive it - it's so tough to keep on-track on anything that isn't S3 or softer, and, even though much lighter than the RUF, and having a spoiler, it's still slower (1'58-7 average compared to 1'55 average). The RUF run was one of the most enjoyable races I ever had - suspense (I had lots of fight for first place before I had a streak of fast laps), fun (El Cap, whaddaya expect?), speed (RUF, whaddaya expect?) and the sound of a Boxer and a couple of V8s (RUF, Shelby 1S SC, TVR 350C, SL65 AMG, and some more - whaddaya expect?). Soundtrack: Tyre-squeels, engine-yells, and "The Who - Live at Leeds".

Your set up worked like a charm, 👍 I just put 7500 miles on mine and then took it to the races. 134 x 5 scored. So perhaps I could have taken it for a drive with less than that. Set the tranny to Auto7 and didnt mess with individual gears.

I still have all the other cars to add miles to. Will test around the 5000 mile marker to see if the GTP-ers after us don't have to put too many miles on theirs. Thx again to all those contributing to this thread. Makes me coming back for more !

I used Suzuki GSX-R/4 for that one...

Thanks, If you need setups for wearing out others I can write them for you but I think you guys figured it out already...

It's been tested before... However some cars will need maybe less miles but after 9000 miles power will not drop any more ... so if you take it for a 9000 mile run you are sure it's weared out to the max... Ofcourse if settings are ok...

Thx again to all those contributing to this thread. Makes me coming back for more !

I'll sign that...👍
What do you think where did I find the idea for geting max points... and inspiration to persist in it... without help of you guys () it would be nearly impossible...

And to see if you can get max A-Spec points is preety tempting, isn't it...

AMG, nige, SirBerra... How is Saleen progressing...?? Have you tried N2/N3 ?? I'm refusing to belive that you guys can't handle Saleen for 200... This one is not one of the PITA races...

I have yet to put some real big miles on the Saleen, just finished the 2CV for max. That was a no brainer race.
Then moved on the BMW 120. Managed 176 on Motegi against 4 diesels (cut a corner :scared:) and that car is now going to rack up some miles.

I'll keep you posted on the Saleen. Nige and I had a private 'fun race' to see if we could manage 200 points. He clearly won! however I maxxed out as well but my car must have been 'younger' in miles as I wasn't (yet)offered 200. Must say that that was on El Cap. Tried Sarthe 3 times but managed to eat sand in the first righthander after the straight. Then gave up. (bloodpressure went up too high :ouch: ...... j/k)

Less than max races are listed below. I should be able to get at least another 1000 points (4x enduros, 1000 miles and Formula GT) however I don't think I will find the time or motivation for the 24 hour races, I am currently working on the 1000 miles - almost had it at the 'ring but made a mistake on lap 9 🤬, and I had a go at Suzuka in the Formula GT in an R8 and did not even get close so that could be a bit tricky too.

As for the rest they are either too hard to win or too hard to find the right line up. I can pretty safely say that I will never reach 111,813 - it is an amazing effort to get this - the fact that only 3 people here have managed it shows how difficult it is. The worst part for me has been trying to find the right lineup, I hope next time that we are given more control over what cars are racing, either by being able to select the entire lineup or by being able to include/exclude certain cars. The best part has been all the close races - a lot of adrenaline pumping moments and great victories against the odds - I have really enjoyed that and think I have got a lot more out of the game.

There's a point to be found there. I maxxed out the JP 70ies and for the one listed above used a Bluebird 1600SSS Rally Car N1 + 140 ballast old oil (as in not refreshed) and NOS. For the other races it was the Honda Life step van on S2, power upgrade and wing.
I won it quite a while back, way before I started taking notes of lineups but pretty sure it wasn't even close to lineup 24 or so.

On the others listed, hmmm, Ive got my work cut out for me :scared: .

Yes, I have found it becoming very much more difficult to max out on numerous races and on occasion despair.
At 98000 or so I thought I'd reached my ceiling.
However, if I look back over a year and 4 months of playing this game (every day) I also see an amazing improvement of my still avg skills. I think I'll manage another 3500 points (conservatively) and anything after that is going to be due to sheer determination or extreme amounts of luck.

Still it's good to see a number of us quite active here to max as far as possible, SirBerra, nige, Fizio to name a few, who take the time to write up about it and the occasional visit of ANK, 66, Wild Cobra and yourself to help out in times of need.

And indeed I believe many of us in this thread (and outside of it) would love to see some better options in GT5, fingers crossed.

Hi AMG- Current state of affairs with the Saleen S7 races:

Sarthe - 200 points
El Kapitan - 200 points
SS5 - 200 points
Suzuka - 164 points
Infineon - 191 points

I've tried the last two on N!'s. CAN'T DO IT! The car is as you say too much like a shopping trolley around those corners. Haven't had time to put more miles on it so I can run with N2's. Will do soon.
AMG again- Have you tried going THROUGH the sand at Sarthe?- I did!!!!!
Good luck to all on N1's!

Holy S, those are some really impressive scores. 👍 Yeah I know which sand section you're referring to but I don't even get that far without seriously slowing down. I'm already eating sand before that section.
The Beemer has done its 9000 miles. I just let the PS slimline run 24 hrs a day. The saleen is going thru its paces as I write this.

Speak to you soon. :)

Hi again. Your PS2 must be one hot machine. I'm scared to leave mine on all day. Don't want to get home and find the house a smouldering wreck!!

Back on topic - I made four shortcuts at Sarthe: one straight after the start, the two corners down the long straight and a big one before the finish line. Using N1's that was just enough of an advantage to enable me to win.
I an not skillful enough to win these races cleanly!
AMG - Good luck with your continuing efforts. Let me know how you are getting on.:) :)

Hi again. Your PS2 must be one hot machine. I'm scared to leave mine on all day.

I bought a USB fan that keeps it fairly cool and only cost me Eur 10. Bit noisy though. Have a bigger fan that's quiet on speed 1 (one of those room models) and the PS likes it very much, it is lukewarm.

Just finished the Beemer 120 races for 200 points. get a lineup with 4 diesels and a petrol up front. Added 9000 miles and n1F/n2R tyres + 180 ballast.
GVS was easy win.
Motegi cut 'SirBerra's' corner and won by a very large margin. The finally went for Infineon. had to do that about 8 times to win. In the final bend the 🤬 tried to overtake me on the outside and he nearly got away with it. 0.1% of nos left to just barely make it.

Now I need an aspirin, my head aches, shoot....

Edit: next day.
Sarthe - from 95 -> 174 points and 4 secs to spare. Nearly killed my PS2 out of sheer frustration.
Running on N3s with 12000 miles on the clock. One of these days ....

El Capitan - 191 -> 200 points 12000mls and N2s. :)
SS5 - 95 -> 174 points on N3s, ...N2 is just too hard.
Suzuka - 95 -> 149 points S1.
Infineon - 95 ->149 points, S1.

But I wouldn't qualify this as racing anymore.

AMG - Well done on the Beemer races. I'm going to try the last two Saleen races ( if that's what can call them ) tonight. I am not going to hold out much hope!!!

Fizio, you gotta be kidding. My skills are not up to that level. There is no way I can foresee getting even 191 points at Sarthe or SS Route 5 with the Saleen. I absolutely cannot control a car on such slippery tires using a PS2 controller. I can't even feel the brakes. Sure there are sand shortcuts Sarthe and wall-riding aids at SS Route 5, but there is some luck with lineups, too. I absolutely have come to hate going through lineups.

As for pre-running cars to the worn oil condition, I just can't be bothered. At my age, I simply don't have the patience. I usually give up after three tries if I can't win a race. I hate to settle for less than 200 points, but I've been settling for far less my whole life.

I'm definitely shooting for 100,000 points to join the club and that shouldn't be much of a problem, but I have no intention of spending days on one race for a few more points (unless I get really close).

Right now I'm doing the Megane One Make Race and I can't do crap with that FF car. I'm tearing my hair out and that's not a good thing. I'm supposed to be having FUN and RELAXATION and I'm not having either.

Your accomplishments at GT4 are really exciting so at least I enjoy hearing about your latest feat. At least I know races can be beat that I thought were totally impossible.

Not so long ago I was really struggling to win Sarthe I in GTWC for 200.
I got knocked out every time during my return trip in the section before the Porsche curves/corners.
The Chap 2J has netted me 1000 points in these races but only 145 in Sarthe. I tried out many lineups but just couldn't hack it.
Thought I'd try it again. 1st lineup wa the 89C, Sauber, Chap 2J, Toy GT One and the Minolta and me in a 2J as well.
I ran the race and was cutting across the chicanes on the straight but was still lagging behind until (I'd totally forgotten about it) all these fast cars started pitting in. Only the 2J stayed out, but the little blighter was too far ahead for me to overtake and I finished 2nd with the Sauber breathing down my neck.
Ok so I reran the race again and this time I would run clean laps. Don't think about cutting the first section with a Chap, you'll spin out!.
The race starts and I manage to overtake the 2J. Good, if I can keep him behind me and not lose too much time on the others I have a fighting chance. On lap 3 the Minolta (2) starts spinning out and just before the pits the 89C does the same. I'm in 4th with the Chap and the GT One behind me. Only 9 secs behind the Sauber as I pass the start line for lap 4.
By T1 I'm ahead of the other Chap by 14 secs. 👍
Now keep my  and race clean !!
Yep, the Sauber manages to overtake the 2J on the straight but he's too far behind me to be a real threat. Yes, after so many attempts do I finally bag 200. :)

1 F Chap 2J (me) 14.17.312 (MoV 9.122s)
2 B Sauber.........14.26.434
3 C Chap 2J........14.32.280
4 A R89C -.-.---
5 E Minolta -.-.---
6 D GT One -.-.---

3 races left and I find them really hard: R245 (123 pts), Hong Kong (0 pts)and Opera (0 pts).

Edit:
Question:
I counted all reachable points and my calculated max is 111811.
All 200 point races + Fam Cup + Missions account for 105300.

Then there are 11 races that dont reach the theoretical 200

Audi A3 cup_546 (3x182)
Crossfire___546 (3x182)
2CV_________670 (5x134)
Copen_______498 (3x166)
Hyundai_____880 (5x176)
Isuzu_______537 (3x197)
MG__________900 (5x180)
Megane______845 (5x169)
Spitfire____795 (5x159)
Totals_____6511

So I have a deficit of 2 points.

IMHO these can only be attributed to 2 single races.
The Midget race (max 152) and or the Subaru 360 Race (142)

Does anyone know what the true max is of either of these two races ?

AMG.

I recently did a 194 point Race in arcade mode.

Course: El Capitan
Car: RX7 GTS (the FC3S)
Tires: Economy
Driving Aids: Off
Difficulty: 10
HP boost: 20%
Weight Reduction:10%

It's a pretty hard race, especially when you get to the really long straight. The lead car is a lot faster then you, so you have to make sure to get in front of them at the corner before the straight, and then block them when the try to pass. If your not carfull they will push you from behind and cause you to wipe out.

But this is in Arcade-mode, not a fixed event that counts towards your A-spec points in GT Mode. As far as I know, even family-cups don't add to your total points...

They do - once. If you get 200pts on one circuit, it counts as having 200pts for all the circuits involved in the Family Cup. Which means you only have to do one race on one track for the 200pts - thank goodness. El Capitan is a good place to earn the 200 IMO.
