Y'know in the first half of the United match...did Martin Tyler say 'this first half is like kissing your sister'??!!!

Yeah was a bit confused

Really starting to go off of football. 180 mins, one lucky shot that became a goal. "Super Sunday". Think I will stick to Motorsport.

Completely agree...it was a boring day of football, but then it is almost then end of the season..

A crap United performance, debatable red card though??

Wasn't a red card, also, this:

I know!, that reminds me of when Drogba did something similar for Chelsea a while ago in the Champions League...at least i think it was Drogba!...

Luiz, actor of the year, and the other Chelsea players weren't any better.

No way near a red card...

On the result part though, not undeserved. Again a poor performance by United.

Sir Alex Ferguson
I think we've taken our foot off the pedal in a big way. There was no real edge to our game. Chelsea deserved to win.
.

Well Fergie did make 5 changes!
I think with Carrick in midfield, and not Cleverly today, United could have won.

Cleverly had a bad day, and both Jones, Valencia and Vidic seemed to lose their foothold more than once each. Just a really crap match by United, followed up by some dreadful decisions by Webb in the end there. Webb actually had a poor game too, lots of mistakes to both sides.

Rooney should have had a freekick though, right before Chelsea's goal.

Is this shopped ? It looks like he has baby legs.
Nope, it's real. :yuck:

Nope, at least I don't think it is, it was on my facebook feed.
It's real. It's been going over and over and over on the broadcast on TV.

If you see the clip, you can see him starting to roll over to get up, but then the other Chelsea players comes over to him, and he rolls over and dies again... :grumpy:

What a cheating ****

What a cheating ****

He's no different from every other professional footballer  Granted most don't have a cheeky grin on their face while they are doing it, but they must be laughing their asses off inside when they hear the refs whistle go.

You normally only see a handful of genuine fouls in a normal game of football, the rest are dives or going down way way too easily. Every team is guilty of it, so every team is full of cheating ****s.

It's not the players you should blame, they are just exploiting a loop hole. It's the refs and the governing bodies that should take the rap, they let players get away with it far too often.

Also DAMN YOU UNITED!!!!

Come on guys, don't be silly.

Luiz cleared the ball, the ball was long gone, Rafael kicks Luiz, clearly out of frustration. I can assure you there was contact. That's a straight red card offense regardless of how he reacts to it, Rafael had malicious intent.

Luiz went to ground, and was laughing at the stupidity of Rafael to do that, that's the kind of personality he has, not to mention he must have been relieved considering the blatant throw in that went the other way, which he was debating with Webb over.

It's not a Busquets-style dive out of nothing. Get mad at Rafael for being an idiot. Fergie is usually vocal about stuff like this, and he didn't have much to say. Doesn't that say something?

Did you actually see the situation?

Im not saying that Rafael did nothing wrong, but Luiz made the most of it, and more than that.

And whatever respect I ever had for Luiz (was actually a bit), was gone in that moment.

And what the heck has Ferguson's saying to do with this???
Stay on topic...

Edit: Just seen this bit:

Rooney should have had a freekick though, right before Chelsea's goal.

That tackle is a prime example, Ramires came in on Rooney, hooked his leg round making very minimal contact, no way near enough to bring Rooney down, no way near enough for a valid appeal for a foul. He gets the ball a treat and runs away. It was a very well timed challenge that dispossessed Rooney in the cleanest manner possible in that given situation.

Rooney falls over trying his utmost to earn a foul (all he succeeded in was making a fool of himself), and to use your words he "...made the most of it, and more than that." There is no way in hell that was a foul, but like I said the players are trying to exploit a loop hole left open by weak refereeing and by the FA's complete lack of a crack down on diving.

If people hold the same sentiment as you and genuinely believe Ramires' tackle on Rooney was a foul...well there's not much hope is there

It's funny how if someone playing on the other team dives, they are lying cheating ****s to use Ross' words. However if someone playing for the team you support dives, the guy who "fouled" him is the devil reincarnated and should be shot at dawn.

There are so many double standards and bias in modern day professional football, needless to say after that little rant it really does get on my nerves.

Completely agree on your stance to the topic.

It should be noted that Chelsea should have gotten a free kick just outside of the box at the end of the first half when Luiz was brought down there. Not even a free kick or stoppage of play. The ref was pretty crap the whole game if you ask me. Made bad calls that helped both teams.

I watched the entire game, and all the highlights on Sky and Fox.

Rafael had a go at Luiz, and no matter what Luiz's reaction is, it's supposed to be a straight red for Rafael. He went to ground to, like you said, make the most of it. If he didn't, Rafael would've gotten away with a malicious kick.

Players dive all the time to make the referee aware that there was contact, then it's the referee's choice to decide whether or not the contact was enough to be worthy of a foul or card, or if there was contact at all.

I can understand the relief written on Luiz's face at that point, he agitated an opponent player into doing something stupid, and got a call in his favour. Earlier on he got booked for arguing with Webb over the throw in that went United's way when it was clearly Chelsea's.

I brought up Fergusen because he's always very vocal and emotional, and would really make a huge fuss about a call that was made against United if he thinks it was wrong. The fact that he hasn't said a thing, unlike other controversial incidents this year(Nani red card, and that guy that cleared the ball which hit the back of RVP's head) says to me he believes it was deserved.

I have to agree that Rafael's red card was deserved, that doesn't make Luiz's actions any less unsporting but his actions don't excuse Rafael either.

Not entirely sure where you got this from, because the post-match interview says otherwise.

SAF (MOTD2)
Rafael was sent off for a kick at his Brazil team-mate, but Ferguson feels Luiz engineered the dismissal.

"[Rafael] retaliates but [Luiz] quite clearly elbows him twice,"
"He then rolls about like a dying swan, and that convinces the referee. He was smiling. That is bad."
"What kind of professional is that?"

Here's the article

United are annoying me, they win all season (except when they're playing Spurs :sly:) and then draw against Arsenal and lose to Chelsea, WE HELPED YOU WIN THE TITLE, at least be nice about it.

Also, Fergie's a 🤬, not much point listening to his interviews, his logic is a ball tothe back of your head can kill you but a kick to the heart is painless.

You helped us win the title?

With 1 win against City? When United were 12 points ahead anyway?

Im not saying im ungrateful that Spurs won against City, it's just that the result in that match meant the title would be secured "earlier" than expected. And United won the title with 3-0 against Villa. ^^

And has it ever occured that SAF might "want to draw/lose" against Arsenal and Chelsea, to get Spurs out of CL-play, then move in on Bale in the summer? :dopey:

Personally I would rather want Arsenal and Tottenham in CL over Chelsea, but I don't really care.

It was definately a red card, you cant kick out like that, but Luiz made the most of it!...

I'd say that it was a yellow for both players considering the elbow in the ribs. Oh and why didn't Chelsea give us a guard of honour.
