2012 Nissan GTR [0-60: under 3 seconds]

Bummer. I could see the tuners using the first gear for faster 0-60 times, while using the last 6 for general driving/track use

Ah! Nice! Finally, noise cancellation. Hope the red on the GT-R that was promoted in the Bolt advertisement becomes a available color. Also the bronze color rims.

MCNAGTROC, do you have any idea who Kinishi Tanuma is? I've read that he is the new chief engineer for the R36 GT-R. Trying to find some of his accomplishments for time he's been working for Nissan. Trying to make sure he can do the same job that Sakurai, Watanabe, Ito, and Mizuno have done for the GT-R brand. I want the same development philosophy of the previous GT-R models converged to the R36's development cycle.

that name was a misprint the original article ran a retraction and changed it.. the new chief engineer is
Hiroshi Tamura. he has a history with the GTR program including the R34. He initially was part of the R35 concept before mizuno took over. He is also the chief product specialist for NISMO road cars so the GTR program is in good hands but its just a different set up from when Mizuno ran it. That core GTR development team Mizuno headed up is now somewhat disbanded. Suzuki left as development driver as well. but they brought in Michael Krumm and Sebastian Buemi to run the recent nurburgring times in his place

that red color in the bolt ads "I think" was a photoshop just for the purpose of that ad. this new regal red color looks to be like a flip paint color with some metallic orange in it.. Ive only seen pics of it from the dealer order guide and it looks like it definitely has some volcanic orange in it

Yes! The program is in very good hands. I'm pretty sure Hiroyoshi Kato wouldn't mind taking Suzuki's place. I just looked at the build sheet over @ Nagtroc (how did I miss it? I frequently visit). Color looks swell. Hope the orange is not too loud when the sun strikes it. I know the ivory interior is going to turn out good because the amber red interior option is beautiful.

Well.. If this helps Nissan to keep increasing the performance to beat the competition to ground while still meeting the tighter emission regulations, I'm okay with it.. As long as the price doesn't jump with it too much. Who knows, maybe they'll offer the base hybrid model for 20k less to see if it would sell at all.

No consistency with each annual revision. I love it. It keeps getting better and better. Just like with the 3 revisions of the R33 GT-R.

595hp and a 7:08:69 ring time, driven by Michael Krumm

Keep in mind that Ring time is not from the pictured car. It's from a "track edition" of this car with some different features.

And for reasons that I cannot fathom, some geniuses are comparing this to the Porsche 918 Weissach.. :P

With the way this car is built & setup, I can't see a reason to there being a "track edition" of it. It's clearly already heavily track-oriented, just build everything into the final price Nissan....

Ordered yours yet, MC? Lucky bastard.

Not quite yet.. it doesnt arrive in the US until almost summer im hearing so I have to think on it as this in some ways its a send off to the R35 with the R36 right around the corner and I need to make a smart decision. Im really interested in the Hybrid KERS stuff so I would hate to get it and that be out right after..

I think im going to get to drive it in the near future..that could play a huge role in what direction i decide to go

matte gray for me!!
It's nice but keep in mind that matte paints can be annoyingly high maintenance. The surface isn't smoothly polished like gloss paint and therefore tiny dirt particles can get embedded if it isn't kept clean constantly. Same goes for matte vinyl wraps but at least a wrap is much easier to peel and replace if a panel gets stained.

New 1/4 mile GTR world record set at TX2K15. ETS runs a 7.49 @ 189.2 MPH pass beating the previous record set by AMS which ran 7.7 @ 186.
