2012 Nissan GTR [0-60: under 3 seconds]

It will be interesting to see the tire choice.. the current dunlop on the GTR is actually great but im also thinking this car might go with a street legal semi slick. the current car can do 1.5x 60ft times (ive pulled a 1.57 myself) that translate to 2.7 sec 0-60s and i just feel thats sort of reaching a plateau. It will be exciting to see what this car is really about as im supposed to be getting one of it not the first one in the US next spring

although not pics surfaced (yet)It was testing at nurburgring last week but im not sure if they put down a time or if it was shakedown testing. The goal i believe was to go for the production record but there is a little gray area as to what that technically is. I think a 7:14ish was what was being shot for as they should put it in line with the LFA Nur Edition

Nissan trademarks "R-Hybrid", most likely to be used on the next gen. GT-R (R36)

Car and Driver

Hmm, when I went for a lap in the '12 R35, the a nissan test driver told me they dyno'd that particular car's engine at around 580hp. Makes me think of that over boost feature. During launch control, depending on hp figures, how much more hp/torque can be mapped at that stage? If 545(so Nissan say) can get you 2.8 seconds, is 600 claimed not actual( in a GT-R) enough? Plus over boost.

I'd love to see a GT-R hybrid. It fits right into the GT-R's personality, and should be epically fast.

That would be a good addition to it's model lineup. Most future hypercars are going hybrid like the Porsche 918 and I also believe the McLaren P1 is too.

Ooh, I rather like that. The grille looks good to me, much better than the Infinit/Lexus spindle grille.

The entire bottom end of that grille has Lexus GS F-Sport written all over it. So, chances are it isn't looking anything like that.

I actually like that a lot. It still keeps the core GTR shape with adding curves and sleekness. Agree looks like ques from Lexus with the grill and headlights from the 370Z.

Unfortunately, it wouldn't surprise me if Nissan went that route for the frontend. Too much Dodge Dart, Maxima, Lexus mash up for me.

If the GT-R replacement looks this good, I shall be very happy indeed:

That is downright horrendous. The GTR isn't quite a looker for starters, but it looks like a Delage compared to that thing. Ew.

That's already been discussed in this thread, we pretty much decided that it was impossible.

the nismo testing appears to be running bridgestone potenza semi slicks which I think will help but yea 2.0 I cant imagine it

here is the car and it proves the japanese magazine render from last month is 99% dead on
