I have nothing against any Utd fans on here, but I absolutely love every defeat they are going through at the moment, it's just pure gold.
Seeing their fans go quiet and moody whever a defeat is mentioned is just fantastic. I wonder which team their glory-hunting sector of fans will migrate to next?
They can 🤬 off if they want to come to Arsenal.
https://m.facebook.com/Arsenal?

You might get a better response there.

Just because United is having a poor and rubbish season, doesn't mean that their fans will stop supporting them.

Sure some will, but that's the same with every other "glory hunting club".

And you sure are cocky when everything goes Arsenal's way for the first time in a long time. Don't come crying when they suddenly go back to winning nothing for a period of 10 years. Pathetic statement of yours.

Now I realise that there are proper fans of United who have a genuine passion for them, but there does seem to be an incredible amount oh Man U "fans" that can't name half of their squad, or even tell you who they play next. These people only seem to say they support United just to seem interested in football or seem above everyone else who supports another team.

Also, where in that post was I cocky about arsenal? You probably only know I'm an Arsenal fan by my avatar.

This part here can be interpreted as in saying that Arsenal is superior to United (and other clubs).
Not saying that you meant to mean it that way, but it may look like it.

And i've been around here long enough to see your posts here. Not just by looking at your avatar. Again, you're judging.

Funny part about all this.

Every club, no matter how small or big their status is, have many loyal and supporting fans, most of the clubs the majority of the fans.
In the end, it's the small group of "glory hunters" that makes the biggest noise and gets the most attention.

Funnily enough, that also describes about 90% of Arsenal fans I know...

And about 90% of Chelsea fans...

And about 90% of Liverpool fans...

And about 90% of City fans...

And about 90% of Barca fans...

And about 90% of Real Madrid fans...

And about 90% of Bayern fans...

You'll find them everywhere. Your Gunners are no exception.

That aside, United were really poor today. No hunger in the team. I knew that losing SAF would be a big blow, but the team really seems directionless without him. All the fighting spirit and 'never say die' seems to have departed with Fergie. Hopefully it's a phase that will soon be over, but I suspect it'll be a long time coming out of this...

Chelsea are looking...not as good as I thought they would before the year started. They really need a striker who will score (like....Lukaku...?) for them, because J-Mou doesn't seem to be getting the best out of the midfield, almost like he doesn't know who to play...

City... sort out their away form and they'll be unstoppable. Navas cured their lack of width, and Negredo has been the real deal. Seems like they're stronger than ever.

Arsenal are a bit confusing at the moment; they're a team with some obvious deficiencies, but it doesn't seem to be bothering them at the moment. We'll see where they are in a month or two. I know most people are waiting for them to fall off the edge, but they haven't yet, so just maybe this is their year. I wouldn't hold my breath.

Spurs...the less said the better.

Liverpool are doing really well, which is great to see. I think another year and they'll be right up there; this year I think top 4 is achievable, but they lack depth in key areas to really fight for the title. Suarez unplayable at the moment though!

It's been an interesting year, and I'm sure it will continue to be as the World Cup draws closer!

I don't blame Moyes, this side won the league, some of them not a few years back won the champions league, they're winners, the manager shouldn't have this big of an impact on a team like this. You're trying to tell me that without SAF this squad is only capable of 7th/8th in the league and that's it? That's rubbish, the team need to get their act together and stop using Moyes as an excuse. Chelsea were the same under AVB, they were lazy, didn't try and eventually got him the boot, then they owned up. Man Utd need to get it together before it's too late, we need a strong showing against Sunderland Tuesday, we need to get sorted in the league, we have to get champions league. Finishing anywhere else just isn't acceptable from such a team. We have a better team than arsenal, than chelsea then Tottenham, than Liverpool, the only team I'd say who had a stronger squad is Man City and I think they're going to win the league.

You don't have a better team than any of these. It's basically RVP and Rooney and 8 average outfielders plus a good keeper. Liverpool's strikers are better, Chelsea's midfield is better, Arsenal's midfield and defence is better. Spurs are about the same.

True statement!

The amount of people calling for Moyes' head is astonishing. The last thing that SAF said at OT was "stand by your new manager". We've been spoiled for 26 years and we're finally starting to come back to Earth. It's not Moyes' fault but I do think we need a couple of top quality signings like Coentrao and maybe Gundogan. One thing is for certain though, any true United fan will always stand by the club and the manager.

So we have had all these years of success and we have one bad year and people are taking as apart in the media?!

Also @Ryanswannell, don't be so smug, it was only a few months ago when Arsenal were struggling to qualify for the CL and need to do so on the final day of last season, just because you are having a good little period and we aren't...

Big breaking news coming out of Twitter, Contrao has asked to leave Madrid to go to United but Ancelotti won't let him leave!....

Arsenal are saying he is out of the World Cup so it could be bad for England...

That must mean that Arsenal will definitely get another forward in this transfer window. Shame, as he has been playing well, since he returned from injury.

So we sell Ronaldo, Beckham and Van Nistelrooy to them and now they don't want to sell us a left back that hardly ever plays?

Just because you sold them those players doesn't oblige them to do you a favour. :odd:
You're correct but it's the fact that he's out of favour. He only has 2 apps this season for Madrid.

True statement!
Yeah. It always makes me chuckle when supporters of other big clubs say that all United fans are glory fans, because most fans of most big clubs are glory fans, their own included.
And even so, how is being a 'glory fan' such a bad thing, especially if you're from a different country entirely, so you're not forsaking your local team...? You should what, support a bad team that is never going to win anything and will barely ever be shown of television in your country because of principle?
Makes me laugh.

 at the bolded part...but Gundogan would be welcome, I'm not sure we need more injury-troubled players, but...

Anyways... I don't know if this was directed at me, but you'll notice I never once mentioned Moyes in my post. I don't blame him, or at least not entirely. The attitude of the players has been poor, and that is at least partially a management problem, plus it's seemed at times like he doesn't know his best team, but there's more issues than that.

@Alex. mentioned that we basically have 2 or 3 world class players, then the rest of the team is mediocre, and I agree. Ferdinand, Vidic, and Evra are past it, Carrick isn't getting any younger, Cleverly & Welbeck aren't good enough to be starters (at least not yet), Valencia has never hit the highs of 2011/2012, Young is 🤬, Rafael is quality when he's healthy but that's less often than not... We have a lot of issues in the team, and having out 2 or 3 really outstanding players struggling with injuries has been really detrimental. The manager isn't the main problem, or at least not the only one.

So we have had all these years of success and we have one bad year and people are taking as apart in the media?!
It's always a long fall from the top. Everyone who has been looking up will take their shots as they pass, and the media always loves to talk about how the mighty have fallen. It is what it is. Sells papers.

Six months for Walcott, ACL. Unlucky lad.
Tough break. Missing the World Cup is rough.

Don't worry, my statement was aimed at many people on Twitter/Facebook/YouTube that are saying it. And I probably should have put realistic targets in my post as the other tow LB's that we've been linked with (Baines and Luke Shaw) are happy where he is/most certainly going to Chelsea respectively.

I wasn't meaning that Coentrao isn't realistic. I was meaning calling him 'top quality' is bit of a stretch. I've never rated him at all; he's decent enough going forward, but he's at sixes & sevens defensively a lot of the time. Makes bad tackles, dives in, doesn't mark tightly, is fight-happy...plus he's as bad as they come about diving when he feels he's been wronged.
He can stay right where he is.

If Shaw is going anywhere, it'll be to London in a blue kit. As for Baines, we would have to massively overspend. We should be focusing on developing Fabio, who looked good at QPR last year, and Buttner, who was our shining light against Swansea. Between them I think if we bothered we would have a decent couple of options.

But that is the Spanish style of play. If we're half the club we used to be, we would be able to get him playing good football. Developing Fabio is a good shout as I see a lot of potential in him. The only thing is he is too eager to prove himself to Moyes as we saw on Sunday. Buttner is a fantastic full back but his natural position is on the right and I think we should be playing him instead of Smalling when Rafael is injured.

^Buttner is left-footed.

Anyway, I'd say Xabi Alonso would be United's best option, even if he's a bit old, only 6 months on the contract as well. Not sure if Pirlo is up for grabs now or if he's waiting till the summer to decide his future, the speculation around him seems to have died down.

Also @Ryanswannell, don't be so smug

Why not? I actively despise of Man Utd for nothing more than the fact they used to have a manager who was a completely irritating man who constantly harrased referee's when things weren't going his way (Moyes is also turning into a similar man), have an incredibly high amount of 'artificial' football fans and have a striker who 🤬 all over us to go to a rival. Not forgetting all of the smugness you lot had when things went a little patchy for us after 2005.

But just because you follow them I can't feel happy when Man Utd are handing out three points left, right and center?

Understandable. This is how any true football fan thinks.

Like I said in my earlier post, I have nothing against any Utd. football fans on GTPlanet. I just do not like Utd, and I think some people on here are taking my comments personally, when that is not my intention at all 👍

Even as a Liverpool fan I'm happy to see that RVP's move may ultimately have been a mistake.
