People I managed to find it on a Kuwaiti PSN Store under Gt Academy 2012 .
the countdown is on and when you select the product to download from the store the information written about it is recent and a perfect match to what is written on the gran turismo main site.
When you run the mini game you can see that the Countdown is working fine with like 40 something days left to go .
Adjust the filter with the eligible countries and race under the flag you like.
I'm actually the only Lebanese competing.

I did 1 week ago. Using an old created kuwaiti account. I found the game under gt academy 2012.

They will probably announce the location when it gets close to the date. Keep your eye out for the website and the forums.
During previous competitions in the middle east I actually heard about them by coincidence on the Radio.

Yeah the IP address doesn't matter. You should be able to download from the Bahrain psn store if not make a UAE account and play with ur Bahraini account.
But sorry to say man the online ranking doesn't apply to Bahrain. You have to go to the live event. Check gran-turismo. com

I searched for gt academy 2012 in the uae store,it says in tye description compete with the best from europe,or is this not the one?

Hi people, is it possible for me to download this with a Middle Eastern and play and get the prizes on my main UK account? I somehow missed out on one of the prizes I should have got.
It seems possible, as I saw a GTplanet member from the UK on the leaderboards, and I had no record on there, so it must be the right leaderboard.

A few things:
If you live in a country outside of the Middle East or South Africa, you don't need to download it from their Playstation Stores if you already have it- I have the original download for the UK and it still works.
Also, if you want to get the prize cars again, you will need to delete your Academy save, as the message won't appear, although you can get more than 40 golds...
