Great time in 6-5 Sems!

Harb84, 51 East the local dealer for Sony said it will be on 29/11 at Nissan and 30/11 at Lagoona Mall (ZigZag towers). Please call them and confirm the details. Unfortunately I will be away on business trip during that time so I will have to depend on the Online event.

Niko_9 I would check with your local sony dealer as they the people organizing the event most probably.

thanks for the answer losailracer. i'm now in qatar. today i managed to get internet connection. i called nissan agent in qatar and asked them about the event and they told me that they have shifted the event dates to 29 , 30 november and 1 december at their main show room at salwa road. they are yet to confirm this and make some advertisments, but it is highly likely it will be this way.

If you have what it takes to win then not playing GT5 for a week shouldn't be a concern. 👍

I remember playing nfs shift and gt5 using G27 for same day .. and physics are completely different which made me feel like a beginner

At least shift is half realistic. Most wanted is rubbish. Worst car physics I've played on a video game, even for an arcade racer.

Yeah if I could get a day or two of warming up in GT5 again but it's impossible to jump from NFS to GT5 and instantly do great lap times.

whats funny about NFS and i use this term every time one of my friends comes to me excited that he wants to bring me the news of a new racing game out there, id reply oh is it another one of those that you have to clip walls instead of apex's.....

well you can win any event by either ramming yourself into a wall in a tight turn or suddenly discover that the hand brake shaves the so called understeer these folks added to the physics and points back your nose in the direction to go.

If NFS had something good id remember parking on the side of the road in a Ferrari or a GTR raise the stereo volume to almost max and rev the engine! here i would frankly confess they do spend some quality time replicating that music to my ears.

You actually have to be clean in criterion games' NFS titles because a single touch will lead to a massive 7 second cut-scene of a crash. But yeah..

Brutal fitness test that I will probably fail since I put 28kg within 2 years. Other than that, timed challenges in a real car I suppose.

Do you have any idea how do they connect stations in the GT Academy and similar events ?

Is it possible to do on LAN or does it have to be done on internet connection ?

I might be doing these just to get the prize cars again but I really want to see what I can really do on 8-5 My previous best was a 1:31.971, I'm now at a 1:32.03x after 10 laps Now since it's midnight in my area, I'll try again when I wake up Good luck to all of you.

This is my first time playing the GT Academy rounds and currently I'm at 32:07. But I know its going to be real hard to get 1 sec faster. I mean its going to be a tenth here and two tenths there.

Gotta keep practicing.

LAN is not possible with GT5? I never knew that.

In all previous Gran Turismo competitions the competition was done through a LAN. I think that the competition in Dubai will be on a GT Academy game not GT5. Most probably they will arrange some sort of local network as it would not make sense to have it over the internet.

They told me I wont be able to participate in live event cause am 20 and minimum is 21 .. dunno why .. but even if I have a driving licence it will be impossible

Hey Niko_9 I'm really sorry to hear that man. I really dont understand the 21 thing. They should allow it as there aren't many participants by the looks of things anyway.

I really hope there will be another GTA ME where you can participate.
