The 1:30's should be the aim. That is hard to do, really impressive is once you start getting times faster than around mid 1:30.9s. I wonder how Dan is doing, has he come closer to top time set on this combo or even beaten it?

Good luck to people who are competing, deadline is getting closer for online qualification.
 
Because i am so Frustrating and start to plam the wheel 😓
My position moved from 13 to 20 in few hours i need only 0,1 sec to back to 16

At the start of the lap, just before the stretch, move to the extreme left then down shift to 2nd to rotate the car. As the car starts to point strait, upshift to 3rd and floor it.

In the left turn, before the chicane, you need to try to exit at full throttle, then upshift to 4th, before chicane.

Try to focus your eyes on the cones at the apex, not the apex itself.

Try different ghosts. Some ghosts pull you up better than others.

Don't forget to unwind the streering as you accelerate.

In terms of steering settings I think you should give two settings a try.

First do 20 laps with active steering off, then 20 laps with active steering strong. From that see what YOU think will make YOU faster.

Second I would suggest you just watch some replays stand alone not as ghosts just to get an idea of how the fastest guys go round the track. You should use your own ghost to determine where u are making mistakes and the places you can improve. Everybody's driving style is different and so each person will have a slightly different driving line.

Another critical point to remember is which parts of the track are make or break parts. For example the combination of chicanes after the first bridge, and the right hander just before the 2nd bridge. These turns I would say are the most important part of the whole track. Look at how the fast guys basically do sector 1 and that should shave a lot of your time off.

I have no time at all, only spent an hour with 1'32.2 ,1'30 .x has been achieved by very very few people

I think 1:30's is really really hard. Like Sems mentioned very few people in the world have achieved those times. It would take all day practice for 2 weeks to get there and that only happened to a few people.

It's still something you should be aiming for mate!! Never settle should push yourself!

I am realy sad i have tried every thing i can but hard sport tires is really killing me .. I need only 0.2 to go to next round

I am going to cry alone :(

I use force feedback 3 and power steering on. I also removed the spring in the brake pedal. The spring made the last part of the brake pedal travel heavy.

I tried to remove the spring but i broke nail now i cannot even drive :,(
 
my steering wheel is Driving Force GT... you need some time to get use to how to braking and accelerating Especially in sharp corners so don't accelerate too hard until you make sure that the car won't slips

Sad to hear that. Maybe you can use the screws that came with the brake mod, if they're the same type. That's very bad luck, I hope you'll find a solution.

The really bad luck that i was very sick last 5 days and i try hard to make new record but i should not focus at all only today i become better

Any was congratulation to all of you i wish you good luck in next round , see you next year :)

I understand man but I think you should always spend your time wisely. For example if you know you will qualify for the next round, then you should practice other things instead of focusing on this one single event. I always try to think long term and in this case it doesn't matter whether you finish 1st or
16th.

IMHO I think the final event should have been done a little different. There is no race or or practice where you have two weeks to get that one lap done. Obviously the more practice on this specific track with that specfic car the better time you will get. I think it would be better if the setup/layout is different than previous GT Academy 2012 final round 8-5 (i.e different car & track) and only have a limited time to record your best lap. Just like real qualifying in any races.

Anyways it doesn't matter as this is only my opionion. I'm guessing they probably did it this way as they have studied and analyzed the competition throughly in order to produce the best driver.

I was having net problems for the past 4 weeks. finally had to get to my bros place on the LAST Day!. brought my T500 RS with me and the setup was not great (my pedals were almost 20 Degrees offset to the wheel, dont ask why :D). nways I managed to get to 12th place.

Although I wish I has 2 weeks to practice....

Losail is right. In order to grow as a driver, it would be better to practice other driving situations. that way you can post a decent time in the first few laps in any car/track combo.

Awesome Job to the guys who are in the top16 :D

Hi everyone

been a long time follower , just decided to register.

I am from Riyadh but sadly currently in dubai , will be back on 14 Dec which is the last day of the event .

I've been playing F12012 only the past months , I just hope no one shows up there so I can have a good chance :D

seriously, I hope someone will actually attend the event from here and let us know the car/track config , it is supposed to be running for 4 days now ! there are no news at all ?!

Thanks Sems. I realize that you dont use active steering also, thats cool.

So you're in the top 16, you live in UAE?
 
guys, did any one notice that in the terms and conditions in the registration form it is mentioned that registration is open 'till 31 december, yet now it is closed :confused:, sony should do something about this.
