Well hopefully they won't play second fiddle to RFR.

They probably will just because of what it is, it's partly why RPM is too.

Penske can come out a little better because all they get is engines which RPM gets everything. The slate is clean and we will see some teams struggle early on but overall it probably will be same guys running up front as always.

So penske is only going to make their chassis and frames??

Chassis = frames! I know you don't live under a rock but yes the only thing Penske is getting from RoushYates will be an engine everything else is in inhouse.

Oh boys,

Look what we have here.

Maybe its just me, but this smells of Indy trying to get some self-promotion through a popular NASCAR driver and a current INDYCAR/NASCAR owner.

Mac K
Danica can barely handle one race..

You mean she handles any race....I kid.

I do miss the days we had guys run the double but love how folks think it's so unsafe. This years Baja 1000 winner drove 1100 miles with no breaks for 20 hrs as fast he could.

So, does anybody else feel bad for Hornish?
"Hey Roger........ I'm not busy that day either....... where's my Indy Car?"

Hornish has never shown interest in running the double, and add to the fact that he's currently not a Cup Series driver, there wouldn't be anything special about him running the race.

there wouldn't be anything special about him running the race.
Except that, you know, he won the closest Indy 500 in history and was the first 3 time IRL champion.
As far as never showing interest, I just think he's been too busy trying to figure out NASCAR the last 5 years. He's just now getting comfy in Nationwide.
Then again he may just feel he's done everything there is to do in Indy Car and has had enough with it.
Also, to add to the Stewart story, a few people have put their name in the hat if Tony declines for Penske via Twitter (supposedly, according to Jayski):
1. Brian Vickers (Who was going to run Indy in 2012 but the deal fell through)
2. EGR dev driver Kyle Larson (HA)
3. GP3 driver Conor Daly (HA)
I figure both Adderaldinger and Patrick would be in the running as well (Patrick being more of a "break the glass" emergency)

Hey, I'm just reporting what Jayski says :sly:
Both Larson and Daly were joking in their tweets, but just the idea that Penske would even think about them (or know who they are) is just funny to me.

Less downforce = better racing

Definitely. And the pic of the 24 shows the much more rounded front, should create less tandems at superspeedways.

In the limited testing they did at Talladega, it was impossible for two cars to gain an advantage working together.

So its basically back to the old school Pack racing.
