2013 SRT Viper Confirmed For Forza 4 - Summer 2012

VXR
The Forza render could easily have occurred before changes were made by SRT to the finished production model.

Right. SRT did say that T10 were one of the first people to see the car. Obviously some minor changes were made since they modeled it.

Just saw it at the NY Auto Show yesterday, absolutely sexy. It was so cool seeing the Forza gameplay vid of it projected on an entire wall behind it. So cool, can't wait to drive it in FM4. The use of carbon fiber in the rear is beautiful, bummer if it won't be visible in game.

fairly minor stuff but...

1. the rear panel around the lights should be exposed carbon fiber...its not in the Forza render...no matter what angle you look at the rear of the car you cant see the weave in that large upper section...but in the lower "diffuser" section of the Forza model it can be seen...

obviously not a deal breaker by any stretch, but certainly an oversight unless the carbon fiber was a late addition for the production car made after the Forza modeling was done

2. the reverse lights are down at the bottom of the rear bumper...not so in the Forza car (this is obviously very minor)...

Carbon fibre is hard to see if you dont use bright settings on pictures, and if your not zoomed in far enough, all carbon on the game just looks like black anyways. I havnt seen a big enough picture to actually say that its not in Forza. The reverse light though, thats odd that they did that.

Oh well, guess we'll find out soon enough.

True. As nice as it would be to get this for free, I'm not counting on it. Getting it as part of a DLC is far more likely, as you pointed out.

I would love to see it as part of a Chrysler Group performance car DLC. Something like this:

2013 SRT Viper
2013 SRT Viper ALMS
1965 Dodge Charger
1970 AMC AMX (AMC was bought by Chrysler in 1988, so why not?)
1957 Chrysler 300C
1989 Dodge Daytona AGS C/S
1977 Dodge Aspen Super R/T
1972 Chrysler VH Valiant Charger R/T
1973 Chrysler VJ Valiant Charger 770
1976 Chrysler VK Charger 770

We need more Australian muscle cars in this game. It's a largely untapped source of awesomeness.

I guess it seems the most probale outcome is that we'll get the Viper as a part of some DLC pack, but I doubt it will be a themed pack like you're suggesting.

From what has been released so far, it looks as if T10 doesn't want to go with such clear-cut themes for their DLC packs anymore.

As if Top Gear would get involved before bolstering their ratings up with the Viper themselves. There'll be a lot of "poweeeeeeeeeeeeer" screaming - they'll save that for the show.

I was actually thinking they'd do a Viper 20th Anniversary Pack which would add the 1st Gen RT/10, maybe a normal 2nd Gen GTS and just a regular Viper Coupe from the 4th Gen and then, of course have the 5th Gen GTS and GTS-R. It think a "Snake Pack" would be actually pretty cool.

So:
1. 1992 Viper RT/10
2. 1996 Viper GTS Coupe
3. 2008 Viper SRT10 Coupe
4. 2013 Viper GTS
5. 2013 Viper GTS-R
6. 2003 Viper SRT10 Carbon
7. 2010 Viper ACR-X (The Former King of the Ring.)
8. 1998 Viper GT2
9. 1998 Viper GTS-R Road Version
10. 2010 Viper SRT10 Final Edition

8. 1997 Viper GT2
9. 1995 Viper GTS-R Road Version
10. 2010 Viper SRT10 Final Edition

this would make me crap my pants...however...as for some suggestions for your pack...

1. your "2." If you're going to add a non-ACR GTS Coupe...I would think either the 1996 (first year) or go with a 2002 Final Edition (this car would have ABS, the 1996 would not) would be better choices...

2. your "8." should be a 1998 since i assume youre talking about the White with Blue stripes car with the wing that had 460hp..

3. your "9." doesn't exist, I would replace it with the 2000 Viper GTS-R Concept Car...

that pack would be GREAT, but it would certainly not cater to a wide range of fans...i think the Viper release would be a great chance to do an "ALMS Pack 2" and im ASSUMING that the Viper might debut at Limerock park this year but how about...

1. 2013 SRT Viper GTS
2. 2013 SRT Viper GTS-R
3. Limerock Park course

Actually, the whole GTS-R thing started with the 1998 GTS-R, which was a road version of the race car:

I know these things exist because I have seen one.

But for the others...good suggestions, list fixed.

I also believe that the pack will be just the road and race car...like the Hyundai Genesis Coupe Pack for FM3 and Velositor pack in FM4.

No, you're right. People can and do pass on themed packs if the cars don't appeal to them, but if you spread them out and cover as many bases as possible with each DLC, people are more likely to buy. "There are only three cars I want in this pack, but I really want those three cars, so I'll buy it."

right, the 1998 road going "GTS-R" was built to commemorate the Vipers winning the 1997 FIA GT Championship...i never doubted that those cars existed...simply that it was being called a "1995." the GTS Coupe didn't even debut as a model until 1996, there was no GTS-R road car before that

So...will the new Viper be listed under Dodge or will Turn 10 give SRT their own list....and if so...will they move the Challenger SRT8, the Charger SRT8s, the Ram SRT10, the other Vipers, the Crossfire SRT6 and the 300C SRT8 to the new SRT brand?

The only ones that should conceivably be in SRT are the new Viper and the 2012 Charger, since the others were still Chryslers and Dodges when they were released (same with the Jeep).

Though since the Charger's already over in Dodge, perhaps that answers the question...

Good point. But it will be interesting to see. Moving a single car wouldn't be that hard, though...and technically the 2012 Charger is still part of Dodge.

I think a Snake Pack would be a better idea than a Viper Pack:

1. 2013 Viper GTS
2. 2013 Viper GTS-R
3. 1998 Dodge Copperhead Concept
4. 1997 Dodge Sidewinder Concept
5. 2012 Ford Shelby Mustang SuperSnake
6. 2010 Ford Shelby F150 SuperSnake

And that's all I have for now.
